My husband, son and I spent a wonderful week at this property August 2013. We felt very lucky because the property is newly renovated, spacious and comfortable. The house has an open, airy upstairs bedroom with lots of light, cable TV, and internet access. Downstairs is a spacious room with a large full service kitchen, dish washer and washer and dryer. If u are looking for relaxed, clean accommodations, and convenient easy access to all that Grand Case and the French side has to offer, this place is great! The management attends to detail and is highly responsive.
One of my favorite rituals is to walk towards the beach at the end of the street (approximately 75 feet) and sit on a huge rock to watch the sun set and see the night lights come up on the neighboring island of Anguilla. This quaint property is walking distance to all the fun: a local park with a basketball court and soccer field, beach Lo-Los (the local barbecue food stands), and fine dining restaurants. I also enjoyed walking to the bakery each morning to get fresh, warm bread and croissants, and fresh pastries in the evening.
We have vacationed in Grand Case area for over 20 years. We feel safe there, and have enjoyed the beaches on the French side. We were able to walk to some of our old favorite restaurants, like Spiga, Le Testavin, Fishpot, and other delicious fine restaurants. We also discovered and enjoyed two new tasteful Creole restaurants a short drive away. There are numerous local fruit and spice markets a short distance away. My son convinced us to buy him a fishing pole at the big American Market supermarket, and he walked from the house to Grand Case beach to go fishing every day.
The highlight of our stay at this property is that after spending a week in a resort on the Dutch side, we had a more intimate experience staying in Grand Case. Many locals and tourists alike usually go to Grand Case for dinner. It was nice to walk to the restaurants and not worry about drinking and driving. I will be making this a regular part of my St. Maarten/St Martin experience! Highly recommended.
