Great Mountain Getaway Close to Everything!

This property is a very convenient location to Roanoke and Salem, but is secluded enough you are away from the hustle and bustle of the cities. The property has been lovingly restored and has all modern amenities. Property manager was responsive and check-in was super easy. Great little mountain getaway!

Cozy cabin in convenient location

Nicely renovated old home with thoughtful small touches throughout! Very convenient to popular hiking trails. The trailhead of a connector to the Appalachian Trail and McAffee Knob is within a 5 minute walk. Also an easy drive into Roanoke/Salem for shopping and entertainment. We plan to stay here again the next time we're in the area. A great little gem!

Hiking Haven

Cozy, neat and perfect location for recent AT section hike. Great for slack packing days around McAfee Knob and Dragon’s Tooth trail attractions. Playground in town was perfect for the grandkids play time. Close enough to enjoy the amenities of Daleville, Troutville and Roanoke. Only detractions were the lack of immediate food options in Catawba and the obstructive view of the oncoming traffic from the driveway.

Peace and Quiet in the Catawba Valley

We had a lovely month in what we called our little country house. It was far from rustic, with a lovely modern kitchen ad bathroom, attractive decor, and a wonderful yard which our dog, Max, loved. We were only about 20 minutes from downtown Roanoke and even closer to Salem. All in all we had a lovely time in the Catawba Valley.

Perfect Place Near Virginia's Triple Crown

This house was perfect for our stay in Catawba. Some of us were hiking the nearby Appalachian Trail/Virginia Triple Crown. Some of us day hiked to Dragon's Tooth. The house was scrupulously clean and modern. So wonderfully quiet. The kitchen was well stocked and had a really nice knife set, making cooking so much easier. The beds, sofa, and chairs were very comfortable. The house was well stocked with soap, detergent, towels, etc. Very dog friendly. Outdoor spaces like the porch and fire pit were perfect. All of us including the dog loved it.

Why they chose this property

Choosing to buy a cabin in Catawba, Virginia, was a decision rooted in both nostalgia and nature. Catawba, with its lush landscapes and serene environment, has always been a haven for me. The majestic Blue Ridge Mountains, the tranquility of the forested trails, and the genuine warmth of its community reminded me of the simple joys of life. Purchasing a cabin there felt like securing a piece of untouched beauty, a personal retreat where time seems to stand still, and every visit feels like a rejuvenating escape.

What makes this property unique

What truly sets our cabin apart is its harmonious blend of rustic charm and nature's bounty. As you step outside, you're greeted by our friendly goats grazing in the back field, adding a touch of pastoral magic to the setting. Beyond them, the breathtaking view of the Blue Ridge Mountains unfolds, creating a panorama that soothes the soul. Inside, the cabin retains a rustic authenticity, making you feel as though you've traveled back to a simpler, more grounded time. It's not just a stay; it's an experience where every element tells a story.
