Welcome to the Blue Jay Outpost.

The Interior Deets:
At 126 square feet, your Outpost comes equipped with all the essentials:

Queen-size bed fitted with Comphy sheets and pillows galore
Beverage fridge, microwave, Culligan water dispenser, Keurig with coffee pods and creamer
Modern, electric fireplace and roof-mounted AC
No Wi-Fi or cell service

An Outpost is a modern take on an Accessory Dwelling Unit - designed and built by a licensed Architect certified in LEED green building practices. Each structure allows space for contemplation, exploration, and experience. Your bed faces a glass wall for pristine the Black Hills National Forest. The property has deer feeders so expect to see wildlife near sunrise and sunset.

The Shower Haus:
Nestled in the forest, the stand-alone shower haus offers modern amenities for rinsing off a day of exploring. This is shared with all guests at the property. Included in your stay is a set of plush towels plus a luxury microfiber robe to enhance the sense of calm and relaxation. All shower amenities are provided during your stay. We hope that you relax and recharge. For those feeling a bit more adventurous, be sure to check out the outdoor shower. Look up to blue skies and Ponderosa pines.

The Exterior Deets:
Venture outside and dive headfirst into the wild beauty of the Black Hills. Parking is on a gravel pad near the entry of the property. Please do not drive on the grassy areas to preserve vegetation and prevent damage to underground utilities.

Your adventure starts with carrying your luggage to your Outpost. There is an outdoor firepit with comfortable Adirondack chairs for your private evening in nature. Please be mindful of fire risks and the potential for a burn ban due to dry conditions. A fire extinguisher is inside your cabin, along with a first aid kit.

Traveling with a group? Consider booking one of the other two structures on the property - The Grey Wolf Outpost and the Buffalo Canvas Tent.

The Black Hills National Forest is your playground! Hiking trails, bike paths, and wildlife encounters await. You're just a hop, skip, and jump from icons like Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, and Custer State Park.

Unique Experience Stay

This provided us with such an awesome experience. To be that close to nature from the comfort of a warm cozy bed was very cool. We had turkey and deer come pay visits several times during our stay. We felt safe and the amenities were perfect to unplug for a day! We will definitely make this a part of our travels!

Blue Jay Outpost

We loved our stay here! It was so quiet, clean, and the bed was amazing! The bath house was nice and clean too. Loved the outdoor shower! We appreciated the signs on the road to help direct us to the property. So glad we took a chance on this unique property, our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. Plan to return and bring our family!
