Superb chill out zone
This is a 5 star villa in every way. Great hosts who were on hand whenever we needed them. The villa and pool were both meticulously clean and all fixtures and fittings of a high standard. The welcome pack of groceries was the most comprehensive I've ever had in any villa. This is a beautiful peaceful location, we say wild tortoises almost every day. The sea was only a few metres away and just beautiful for family swims. Local restaurants were basic but lovely. The owner of one even ran us home at the end of the night and every time we went there his wife gave us a dozen free range eggs! It's just that kind of place! I was with my family of 4 children all over 19 yrs of age and we had a wonderful time. The place seems just so off grid and yet you can be in the centre of Athens within an hour. I'd highly recommend this location to anyone.

A lovely location in a beautiful townhouse/villa in a peaceful part of Greece...
It was our first time to Greece and we really enjoyed our stay there. The place where we stayed, near Schinias beach, was a very spacious 5 bedroom, 2 bathrooms villa/townhouse in a quiet & peaceful part of Greece but still not far to the capital. From the villa the views of the mountains and nearby island was breath-taking. There is also a lovely shared swimming pool which my children really enjoyed using. They have never stayed in a place with a swimming pool before so it was very exciting for them. And within a short walk down from the villa there is a rocky beach with beautifully clear waters where we were able to snorkel & watch the little fishes swimming everywhere. We were made very welcome from Rosa who managed the place. She even came to find us when we got lost in the car on the way to the villa!! Her husband, Stavros, does special tours so we hired him for the day to take us across by ferry to a remote place on an island where we were able to swim under a beautiful natural waterfall and enjoy the waves of a remote beach location used mainly by campers. By end of day he took us to a very local greek tavern where we were able to try out some fantastic local delicacies (such as goat stew) which were amazing. Overall, everyone had a wonderful & memorable experience in Greece and of the warm hospitality of the Greek locals. My only advice is to make sure you hire a car as this is essential for getting around various places. To get to the capital city, it is advisable to park the car in Pallini & take the train to the Acropolis or Syntagma Square. I was a little hesitant about driving in Greece but it was very easy but make sure you have a satnav device available at all times. We hired one at the car rental. The world may be a big place but we most definitely hope to return to Greece again one day.

Great stay at Amalia Residences
Our family of 5 stayed at Amalia Residences this summer and we really enjoyed it. The architecture is modern yet it draws from the Mediterranean landscape and colors. The residences are clean and well maintained. There is an amazing view of the Aegean sea. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool and the close beaches. One advantage of this location is that it is relatively close to Athens and makes day trips to the city convenient. A great thank you to Manos, Rosa, and Mary for the great service and the friendly atmosphere. We highly recommend this place.

The Bennington family holiday
We had a wonderful time, the apartment is beautiful and has everything that you could want. The pool is great, and for us only being 5 minutes from rocky cove where we could snorkel was ideal. Rosa and Manos looked after us incredibly well, we recommend that you listen to their advice on places to eat, we felt like we were part of their extended family for the short time were were there. Manos took us on a tour which was really entertaining, he's full of warmth and intelligence.and knows everyone, of course. I hesitate to recommend it,because we want it all to ourselves. We will be back.

Spectacular Waterfront Property w/Stunning Views
What can I say!? Our stay at these Marathon Villa Rentals was nothing short of one of the most fantastic vacations of our lives. It was the perfect escape from our every day lives, and a welcome relief from the fast paced world of Athens. That being said, it was so close to Athens that we were able to pop over there for a day trip! Clean, open floor plan, great kitchen, gorgeous pool and views. No complaints. We will definitely be back. Thanks again for an amazing time. - The Nolans

Relaxed elegance by the sea
The Amalias townhouse-style condominiums are truly a home-away-from-home in Greece. A little under an hour from Athens by car, the location makes you feel as though you are on one of the islands - tranquil and quiet and only a stone's throw from the crystal clear sea. The property is immaculately maintained with great attention to detail and plenty of modern conveniences, including a well-equipped full-sized kitchen. Our condo was spotless, lofty and spacious with plenty of windows to let in the beautiful light and fresh sea breezes. The pool was nice and large, and there was ample poolside seating - Amalias is not short on amenities of any kind. We also felt very safe and secure at the property. As we were meeting friends who were also staying there, we all appreciated how easy it was to socialize in the common areas while still enjoying our own private spaces as well - a great balance. We loved walking through the quiet neighborhood, too, with its great little corner market, and just a few minutes away by car is the historically important town of Marathon. The beach there is nice, and nearby Schinias is even better. Marathon is also home to the only marble dam in the world, an attraction that is definitely worth seeing. And then of course there is Athens, where you can easily spend a day of sightseeing or a night out and then come home to Amalias - your seaside retreat away from the city with all the comforts of home!

Beautiful, Quiet spot with great Beach and History
It is a wonderful location right on the shore of the Aegean sea, just over half an hour from the airport and Athens. It is very quiet and relaxing spot, however, if you are looking for the nightlife, beautiful Athens are a short drive away. The house is modern, comfortable, and meticulously maintained. It has a great pool if you want to cool off in the afternoon or take a night swim. There is an AC, a kitchen, a laundry, several bathrooms-so we had everything that we needed. There are numerous places to eat all around and the food is great and inexpensive. The owner and the managers of the property are great people-warm, friendly and very helpful. They guided us through our stay, so we saw and tried a lot of things that I am certain we would never experience if we were on our own. I am a big fan of history so living a mile away and walking every day on the actual site of Marathon battle was a big thrill. In general walking on the stones of Acropolis, Ancient Agora, Mycenae, Corinth feels surreal and awe inspiring. If you like to swim, there is a rocky cove about 100 yards away which is great for snorkeling, or there is a great "wild" sandy beach about 2 miles away, or fully blown beach club with bars and umbrellas etc. The food and wine are awesome-my wife and I are pretty picky, yet every single meal during our stay-we cleaned the plates-finger licking good. I would recommend renting a car, parking is not an issue and with GPS on my iPhone we didn't have any trouble getting around. The cars with manual transmission are readily available, if you need an automatic-the property manager put us in touch with a company that provided a luxury sedan with all the bells and whistles, they greeted us at the airport during arrival and departure. One recommendation that I would make is to bring cash with you-the gas stations do take credit cards, but a lot of other places prefer cash transactions. In conclusion-it was a wonderful place to stay, I would highly recommend it and we are planning our next stay at the same spot already.

Fantastic experience - such a relaxing place!
I loved staying at Amalia Residences for our Greek vacation. The accommodation was first class. The staff were friendly and we were able to get out to some great local restaurants, and we were a stone's throw from the historic Marathon route. For me, Lying next to the pool, looking out to the crystal clear sea had to be the highlight...we will definitely come back when we're in Greece next summer. Thank you for such a memorable vacation. We will definitely be recommending Amalia Residences to our friends and family when they are out in Greece!

This is a spectacular place to stay. We loved it!
Close to Athens but a million miles away in terms of beauty and serenity, we felt this small group of condo townhouses was a wonderful find. The unit we stayed in was lovely.... comfortable, casually elegant and a great place to entertain. The pool is big and the view to the sea, is magnificent. The rooms are commodious and airy, the beds are terrific and we had a large balcony looking out over the water.... quite romantic. It is a short walk to a wonderful private beach and there are good restaurants, beach bars with lots of local color and sightseeing right in Marathon, just minutes away. We also felt really safe and liked being in a nice community with lovely homes owned by local people. We have traveled all over the world and this is one of the nicest places we've stayed. We are really looking forward to going back and would recommend this place to anyone.

Very Special Property
I enjoyed an amazing two weeks in Greece, staying at "Amelia." The property is a gorgeous complex of townhouse-style villas -- nine in all -- surrounding a beautiful pool. Our unit had thirty-foot ceilings in the living room, with a dramatic staircase rising above us to the three bedroom levels above. It had a full-equipped kitchen and a private patio. Bedrooms were quiet and comfortable and well-furnished. On those rare nights when the breeze did not blow, each room had a powerful air conditioner that kept us very comfortable. Bathrooms were big, with shower-tubs and plenty of hot water. Overall, our villa felt modern, clean and luxurious. It was about a thirty-second walk down to a private swimming cove below the property, and we swam every morning in clear Aegean water. There were several Mediterranean-style beach resorts, all about a five minute drive away, where you could rent lounges and order drinks. One even had a great play area for our daughter. There are great bars and clubs in town of Skinias as well. Athens is about thirty minutes away by car or train. The port of Rafina was about fifteen minutes away, and we spent several days touring the Greek Islands -- Amelia is very centrally located, and is a great "jumping off point" for short trips all over Greece and the Mediterranean. But the best part about Amelia is that it's simply gorgeous. As a professional writer, I was there partly on a working sabbatical. I completed the screenplay for a Disney Channel movie from the balcony of our villa (life was tough!), and I found the location incredibly peaceful and inspiring. There were several other people staying in some of the villas, and I really enjoyed the community. The design of the property is such that you have a great deal of privacy -- you never feel like you MUST socialize. But there are common areas where you can meet other guests (the pool, gardens, etc.), and we found Amelia attracts a certain type -- cosmopolitan, interesting, and respectful. We really got to know and like some of fellow travelers, and now feel we have friends from all over the world. Overall, I highly recommend Amelia for people seeking an inspiring escape, slightly off the beaten path, to unwind and enjoy sea views, Aegean waters and Greek resorts. Or those looking for a central place from which to explore Greece in general. It's a truly unique place unlike anywhere else in the world.

I grew up in Athens and relocated abroad after College... it was always my dream to built a high quality complex in Sxinia beach as it is my favorite area in Athens but yet in an island type setting

Why they chose this property

I hired Michalis Fotiadis as the architect to design this complex once i found the land i was looking for... Michalis is a very talented Architect who also designed the new Acropolis museum in Athens... We are very proud of Mare-Bella, built primarily for our family use!
