This is one of the prettiest places we have ever stayed! So very Up North feeling and extremely relaxing. My husband loves to fish and if you have waders it's a lot easier to navigate the river as this branch of the Sturgeon is shallower. The tv reception was iffy at times but great big screen and movie selection. We will be back to this wonderful getaway !!!
Great place to unwind. Fire pit for in the evenings and coffee in the mornings by the river was perfect. It's not too far from the UP and a easy drive too Petoskey and Charlevoix. There are also a lot of little things at the house like a small fan in one of the bedrooms, spices in the kitchen etc. Its a great place to stay!
Pleasant & peaceful location; although the adjacent property has 3 homes with one occupied & the others possibly vacation homes. No noise from that property though during our stay..
The Sturgeon River is approximately 100 ft. from back deck of this cabin & a peaceful place with a bench and swing next to it.
The hosts were great & I would certainly consider this property again.
This cabin is located peacefully & set up perfectly for every need! The cabin was so nicely decorated and the wood woodworking beyond compare! The attention to detail in this cabin did not go unnoticed, from the plate holders, shelving units, door & mirror frames to the many fish baskets and wood carvings. All beautiful! We kayaked our favorite river, the Sturgeon, and went SxS riding in the excellent local trails. This is a perfect place to relax, listen to the river, have a bonfire and unwind. God willing, we will be back!
My family loved our stay at this beautiful vacation home by the river. It was so relaxing, from morning coffee by the river in the swing, to evenings by the fire pit, we all left feeling very renewed. The kitchen was a dream.
Communication with our host was fast and effective. We will be back.
Perfect for our family vacation. Would stay here again.
This place was great for our group of 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 5 and 8). The kitchen, dining area, and one bedroom look out on the Sturgeon River. There is a generously sized kitchen and dining table, perfect for hanging out, talking and cooking, and playing games. The cabin was well-appointed and it's clear a lot of thought went into making it comfortable for guests. There were lamps by each bed, toiletries, fishing gear, board games, a CD-player, and even THREE nightlights! (I always forget to pack those). We day tripped to Petosky, Traverse City, Gaylord, and Mackinac Island pretty easily from here. A few notes: you have to bring your own sheets and bath towels. Pillows, blankets, and kitchen towels are provided. There is a charcoal grill. There are only a few TV channels and the selection of DVDs for grown ups is hurting, so you might want to bring your own (there is a Blue-ray player). Also no Wifi. Cell service was fine and we brought a T-mobile hot spot to help with our wifi needs.
