Nonresponsive host and lack of items/cleaning in house
We arrived for our check in and host provided inaccurate entry code. This took over 1 1/2 hours to resolve. Tried to work with VRBO customer service to support and they said host blamed on “user error,” when the host had actually put in errant information. Host told us she would respond to the house in 30 min but that commitment was not kept. VRBO customer service was also not helpful miscommunication with host and committing to calling back to check to make sure stuation was remedied but never called. We had to keep calling them back.
House has rules about removing shoes, but clearly was not vacuumed. Stair light fixture did not work and there was no dishwasher detergent for dishwasher.
Also neighborhood lost power and there were no back up systems such as battery operated lights to navigate house in addition to the inability to charge phones to use as flashlights. I realize that this is largely a utility company issue, but guests are still left in the lurch in this situation.
Not a pleasant stay due to these dynamics.
