We thought the property was just the right side for two people. All the comforts of home. Great location. Views of the lake from the front porch. Just a short walk to the lake. All kind of amenities.. Having a stove and refrigerator made it very like for preparing meals. Will return again.

quick get a way

The location and appearance of the place was good for the price, however we could not use the stove and were stuck in a huge snow pile since the 2nd entrance was not plowed as it should've been, we had to be stuck in out cabin unable to leave or cook a meal for my child because the stove did not turn on and there was no lighter to light the burner. Luckily I had brought some snacks to hold him off until AAA came to pull us out of the snow. If they had there grounds kept properly we would have had a better experience.

Cozy getaway turns into a musky cigarette filled weekend

The minute you walk into the cabin, it’s as if someone smoked a pack of cigarettes right before with all the windows closed. It completely took away the excitement and smelled of musk and smoke the entire weekend. The dishes were also dirty and who knows if the bed was even cleaned. I can honestly say i was disappointed as we were looking forward to a romantic cozy weekend in the mountains. I have never left a negative review before but i felt like this needed to happen so things can get fixed ASAP. I understand this was an older cabin but the rental/management property really needs to do an overall inspection and deep clean. Especially the smell of cigarettes. Unless your smoker, and want to have a weekend smelling like a Las Vegas casino, then this place is the perfect fit for you. I left disappointed and really hope this comment gets taken into consideration for the next time this place gets rented, they will have a clean, cozy, mountain getaway.

Nice little house great for two people

I was very happy with this rental, the check in front desk ladies were very nice and beautiful, the little house just located less than one minute walked to the laker, also close to fun places. No share wall.

The place was a good place to stay, small and so it is really for sleeping and cooking, not hanging out. This is not a criticism, but it was very interesting to me that there was no filter for the coffee pot, reusable or disposable. A reusable coffee filter would be a great addition to the coffee pot for a very small price.

Very cute little cabin right on the water. Wall heater worked very well and unit was clean. Very comfortable lil place. Could use TV in bedroom and doesn't have a fire place but, has a community fireplace outside with ping pong, horseshoes and swing set for the kids. Overall, very comfortable for a lil cabin.

Big Bear overnight stay

The view was spectacular. The cabin was clean and we enjoyed our night very much. We even had a morning visitor. A duck wondered over to our property and up on the porch to have morning coffee with us!!

Decent but a tad overpriced for what it is

Fairly roomy for a cozy 1 bedroom cabin. Clean. Nice firm bed, small but comfy couch, and good-sized kitchen. Plenty of lights. My medium-sized dog and I had plenty of space. OK shower (could use a facelift), but may be difficult for taller people (the shower head is pretty low but is removable). Hot water came out of all taps almost immediately. The cabin is very close to the lake and pretty quiet for being near Big Bear Blvd. A few minutes' drive to trailheads for hiking and Big Bear Village for nightlife/eating. Keep in mind that the heater is in the living room--not sure how warm it will keep the bedroom in the dead of winter, although it looked like there was a space heater in the closet. My big complaint: my last night in the cabin, I was woken up at 3am by loud scratching in the walls. Not sure if it was a squirrel or raccoon or what, but it was VERY loud and VERY persistent. Didn't think it was coming through the wall, but it was still disruptive. When I told the guy manning the desk at the rental office, he sort of just shrugged and then handed me a coupon, so I'm not sure if their critter problem will actually be taken care of any time soon. Only other thing I would suggest is maybe some extension cords or surge protector bricks to charge devices -- there are very few outlets and they are in very inconvenient places.

Big Bear GOOD NEIGHBOR POLICY is enforced at all times during your stay and includes removing trash from the property to local trash sites, washing dishes to alleviate wild animals being attracted to neighborhoods. NO PARTIES OR EVENTS, No Over Occupancy, No Loud Music, and No Street Parking is allowed in Big Bear homes at any time. This policy along with a rental agreement will be emailed to you immediately after booking and is REQUIRED by the City of Big Bear Lake for all rentals in Big Bear. If found in violation of these policies guests will be visited by staff and Code Enforcement officers who may or may not issue fines or evictions to the violating party members. No Smoking is allowed in any Big Bear homes.

Winter Snow & Parking- During winter months the driveways, steps, porches, decks, and other outdoor areas at your property may not be accessible due to snow or ice. Our teams are on fixed routes for snow and work alongside city and county resources to clear roads, driveways, walkways etc. Guests should be prepared in winter months to shovel themselves in or out of the property and off of the street in these snowstorm events. As there is no street parking allowed in Big Bear it is extremely important that guests make every attempt to get vehicles off the street for the snowplows. California Law requires that vehicles traveling to Big Bear from November thru April have snow chains in their vehicles however we also recommend proper footwear, an emergency kit, and an extra snow shovel.

There is no Pay-Per-View access or Ordering of Viewing options in any of our Big Bear homes.

No refunds or credits will be made for cancellations or trip interruptions due to acts of nature, weather, road conditions, mechanical or electrical failures, spa malfunctions, TV or other equipment factors beyond our control.

Big Bear is a mountain community located in a deep forest which is also home to many forest critters. Common animals or insects that you may encounter are spiders, moths, flies, squirrels, gophers, bears, coyotes, burro, bear, bats, etc. Our team inspects every home prior to your arrival but cannot guarantee that the home will be free of these forest animals or pests.
