About this property

On Belanger Pond is a super charming cottage in a storybook-like setting. The cottage is located north of Suttons Bay and sits right on a large pond. It sleeps 6 with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.

There is a bedroom on the main floor, and the upper bedroom is a loft area. There is a cozy living room off the kitchen and a large enclosed porch faces south over the pond. Mornings are beautiful sitting out here.

Make sure you bring your camera to this magical spot with gorgeous landscaping and a serene setting. Enjoy a fire in the provided fire pit. There is a charcoal grill for any outdoor cooking you might have planned.

This is a great location to enjoy all of the Leelanau County attractions. Stop at some of the wineries, Leelanau Sands Casino, the vintage Bay Theater, or one of the great local restaurants. The house is 20 miles from Traverse City.

Charming cottage in a perfect location!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved the Belanger Pond cottage, which was located right on M22 just 2ish miles north of downtown Suttons Bay. My mother and I enjoyed the French shabby chic feel of the place, and loved sitting on the porch and patio to enjoy the serene pond view. A great place to rest after many hikes and wine tastings. You even get a few peeks of the big lake from the porch and upstairs bedroom!Yes, you get some traffic noise as you are close to the road, but it's really only busy in the morning and early evening -- didn't bother us. I would say the only con is the well water (typical for when you're outside city limits up north), but we bought a water jug for drinking water and it was absolutely fine! Visit Up North also promptly replaced a coffee pot that was not working well with a new one which we really appreciated. A great stay and I'd love to return!

The front of the cottage is on a main road but the side/back makes you feel like you are On Golden Pond. We took our mother for a weekend getaway and visited Fishtown, breweries and Traverse City. Everything was exactly what we were hoping. We will be back!

Cozy, clean cottage get-away

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was a super cute older cottage like rental with lots of space to spread out. LOVED the outdoor deck space and enclosed porch (in case bugs/mosquitoes-which we didn't have). We had 4 adults and the one bathroom worked well. The 2nd bedrooms which is upstairs has a tight/lower ceiling at the top, so beware if you are taller (I am only 5'9" and I hit my head more than once). Also, no rails so if you're unsteady or have issues with balance, I would suggest staying on the main floor. It is right NEXT to the busy road which noisy at times, so also be aware of this; We saw this in the review, but didn't think it about it until after we heard the cars go by.

Late Summer Girls Trip

My mom, sisters and I booked this cottage for our annual girls trip. The cottage was SUPER cozy and in the perfect location for what we had planned. It was only a five minute drive to downtown Sutton’s Bay and a 10 minute drive in the other direction would get you to Northport! Plenty of great seating areas and spaces to cozy up. The porches (both inside and out) were lovely. We would definitely not hesitate to stay here again!

Charming cottage

I needed a place to do some uninterrupted work. This was a wonderfully peaceful and charming location. Drawbacks that weren't too consequential, no ac, no dishwasher. Unexpected drawback, no internet. In all, I'd stay here again. The all white shabby decor very calming. I have limited mobility. No problems with entry and first floor bedroom a plus.

Family visit to meet in Leelanau

The cottage was just as described. It was delightful little place to stay at. The attic rooms are toasty so dress accordingly. It was nice to sit beside the pond with the ducks, frogs and wildlife and have your morning coffee.

Pond Life!

Super cute little farm house on the pond. Close to Sutton's Bay and even closer to the casino, if that is your thing! We had a lovely stay, with the only glitch being that we were given the wrong code to get I to the keybox... Took about :30 minutes to get that straightened out but after that it was smooth sailing! Handy to everything that the Leelenau Peninsula has to offer... Would stay there again for sure!

mini girls weekend

Loved the shabby chic look and feel of the cottage. Very clean, but would have liked to see more supplies in the kitchen. Pans were great, but no baking pans. but we made do. Thank you for allowing us to stay there.

Wonderful little cottage

This cottage is super cute in a great location. We loved the proximity to leelanau cellars and the casino. The house was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The only things that would have made the stay better would be newer coffee cups and more than two that were provided. Also if the shower head was adjustable that would be nice too since the shower is small you can’t back away from the water and if your short the water hits you right in the face and you can’t adjust. But we loved the house and do plan to book again for next year.

October Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 1. Location- Pros-Nice area, safe, close to everything, beautiful back enclosed porch to eat breakfast or dinner. Close to casino.Cons: The house sits on a very busy road, you can hear the traffic. 2. House-Pros- Clean, firepit was nice, plenty of firewood to burn. Decorated nicely. Heat works great.Cons: If you like to watch TV, this is not a place for you to stay. The TV was smaller than my computer screen. We did not go to Michigan to watch TV. We had one day when it rained, they had a scrabble game we played for hours. The upstairs floor creeks but that goes with the history of the home. The access to the home was a key that was in a lockbox. If you lose the key per upnothvacations you have to contact a locksmith. In my opinion the owner needs to put in a keycode entry into the cottage. We were very afraid of losing that key. I know they want to keep the historical value of the home but with a rental it's more practical. The property management company sends plenty of emails regarding rules, regulations and expectations. I did leave a ring and necklace at the property and called them. Housekeeping turned it in. They have a $25.00 charge plus shipping charges which was in the contract. I had to call 4 times and send 2 emails regarding information of when it was going to be mailed. The timing was not exactly quick (10 days) from checkout to get in the mail. My expectation was not next day air but correspondence could have been better.

Reviewer Comments: My husband had a major medical emergency come up and so I called the property managers number early Saturday morning and no one answered so I left a message. Check in was Thursday and we went to the hospital Friday and my husband was admitted . Then Saturday we were transferred to Butterworth hospital in Grand rapids. We stayed 1 night of our 3 nights. I never expected to have payment reversed but I did expect out of human decency to be called back . My husband had major surgery Sunday and finally came home today Wednesday. The place was fine but I would not recommend for the simple fact of lack of care and concern.
