About this property
The EarthHouse ~ Wall-to-wall unique style, Luxury Linens and Amazing Comfort
The EarthHouse is wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling style. We've put our hearts into providing a distinctive space filled with luxury linens and cozy throws, creating the essence of relaxation and charm. The bedroom mattress, lounge room couch and arm chairs are amazingly comfortable. It is delightfully quiet and sure to be memorable. We're sure you're going to love this unique and romantic escape.
The EarthHouse was originally just an earth home in the 1940's where a family of four called home. In 1992, the current dwelling was built above the earth home were we live with our dog. You may occasionally hear faint voices and the sound of dog paws during your stay. Please know we are most courteous in providing a quiet space during your time at The EarthHouse. We are a smoke free home and ask you to please refrain while staying with us. You will have the entire EarthHouse to yourself with private entrance once inside the front door of the house. There is just 1 step down into the EarthHouse. The kitchenette has a full refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee with coffee maker, and counter oven with rotisserie, bake, convection, and broil settings. I have some nice single serving snacks and treats for when you arrive. The open kitchen area meets up with the bathroom with full shower and bathtub, or enter the charming lounge living room and romantic bedroom with sound machine and darkened window coverings. You may exit the bedroom through the (secret) closet door which meets up with the hallway to the bathroom and kitchen area. As an EarthHouse it’s nicely cool throughout the warm weather months and super cozy warm in the winter months. It’s great. We think you will really enjoy yourselves at the EarthHouse.
In all seasons but winter, please make use of the outdoor furniture at the entrance! We have a beautifully landscaped property to enjoy. At this time, no access to the backyard.
We are located within walking distance from Downtown Main Street in Mount Horeb. During the 1980s, as part of an effort to continue celebrating their Norwegian and Norwegian-American heritage, Mount Horeb transformed itself into the "Troll Capital of the World." The Chamber of Commerce calls the main street the "Trollway." Art carved trolls line the downtown area, often pointing to places to shop and eat.
Mount Horeb, Wisconsin is part of the Driftless Area, a topographical and cultural region in southwestern Wisconsin. Here we acknowledge and celebrate the inherent sovereignty of the Ho-Chunk Nation and the 11 Indigenous First Nations within what is now referred to as the State of Wisconsin . The EarthHouse is on the sacred ancestral land and waters of the Ho-Chunk peoples of past, present, and future.
We are really happy to share this wonderful space! We may see you and welcome you in person or if you prefer no contact, we appreciate your wishes. If you need to get in touch with us during your stay, please message me through your VRBO reservation. We prefer not coming up the stairs to our home unless in the case of an emergency. Please let us know through your reservation if we can be of any assistance to you. Thanks much!

About the host
Hosted by Pamela Lee

We have been welcomed at many VRBO getaways. When we had the opportunity to do the same with our EarthHouse, we couldn't think of a better way to offer guests the same amazing experiences we have had. Our space is also very unique which adds great attraction to guests who have never stayed in an earth home. It's fabulous! Our friends and family who have stayed at The EarthHouse encouraged us to open up the experience to others so here we are. We have put our hearts into offering a space that is super inviting, warm, romantic, and so very exceptional. We welcome you!

What makes this property unique
It's an Earth House! We've given this space a whole lot of thought in how to keep its original floor plan from the 1940's and add the charm and comfort of today. The EarthHouse is in an older, historic, friendly neighborhood in Mount Horeb. The homes surrounding us are quite beautiful. Just 2 blocks away is Boecks Park with an outdoor pool. Although we are just 1 block off Main Street (so convenient), the neighborhood is very quiet. There is a large bell tower 1 block away that plays music daily at 12pm, 3pm and 6pm. It is a lovely place to live.
