Central beauty

Perfect location right off the main strip and 12 min drive to Stonington - charming porches to enjoy the spring/summer weather and though it rained all day Saturday, the beautiful fireplace and inviting family room made for a perfect movie day. The kitchen is well appointed and bathroom showers are spa-like! Slept like babies in the dreamy beds - perfect getaway spot with the most responsive owners. Wonderful house and location!

This place was perfect for our girls college reunion trip! The house was beautiful with no detail missed, the fore place was great for At night to watch movies in the living room. The porches were great for morning coffees. The location to all things downtown in Mystic was just wonderful. We look for was Ed to coming back again!

Best rental we have ever had

Took a short 3-night getaway to celebrate a milestone birthday. Wow! This property is pristine and may very well be the most well-appointed residence we’ve ever experienced (and we use VRBO often). The gas fireplace was a big hit while watching movies in the evenings (cool nights in March). Our hosts were very welcoming! Can’t recommend this property ENOUGH!

Stay here!

This was our second time staying here and again we had a wonderful stay! Location is perfect to walk to coffee and restaurants and we had a lovely Thanksgiving cooking in their new kitchen. Great house, great stay

We had a wonderful weekend stay at Mia and Jon’s beautiful home. It is better than the pics. Spotlessly clean. The location is just a couple minutes walk to main area in mystic with shops/restaurants. The hosts left us a lovely gift card to use at a local bakery. Such a nice touch! The beds are so comfortable. The fireplace was perfect on our rainy day. The area is beautiful wish we had more time to walk around and explore. I would love to return in summer months!!! Fall Weekend Getaway

This was the perfect house for a reunion of 4 college friends. It was so comfortable. Jon and Mia are wonderful hosts- so accommodating and helpful. The Best Blue House!

Family Mystic Trip

We spent a long weekend at this lovely house! It was prefect for walking in to town for shopping and eating. We did the Mystic Aquarium one day. House is close to Rhode Island so we took a day trip there for a beach day in Westerly. Plus we took ferry to Block Island another day. Great location and overall great feel to the house. It was very homey, beautifully decorated and everything is top notch. Would definitely stay there again!

Lovely house in an amazing location.

We rented this house for a long weekend to escape the city life, and visit some family. This house was incredible. You can tell the owners take pride in their property. Plenty of amenities to meet everyones needs. The location is amazing. Just off the main "strip" of Mystic. You get peace and quiet with the ability to be at your first Mystic destination after a 3 minute walk. We were so pleased, we plan to stay here again!

Perfect Home in Mystic

My family of 5 loved our stay in this lovely home in Mystic! The house was so fresh and clean, beds were very comfortable and location was perfect. We loved being able to walk to shop and eat multiple times a day. We enjoyed reading and relaxing on the front porch rocking chairs. Jon and Mia checked in on us a few times to make sure everything was perfect. If we visit Mystic again we would definitely stay in this house!

The Perfect Getaway

We can’t say enough about how thoughtful and accommodating Mia and Jon were. We had a lot of questions as it was our first time traveling out of state with our toddler. Mia took the time not only to give us recommendations on local things to do as a family - but also to make sure the house had what it needed for us. It was spotlessly clean, and completely comfortable! They are great hosts; who know how to balance being available and communicative, while also giving privacy to their guests. A memorable memorial day

My husband and I stayed at Jon and Mia’s for 5 nights. It’s a fantastic location, just a hop skip and a jump into town. The house was as advertised, Neely remodeled, and it was very well equipped with everything we needed. We only used the king size bed, and it was super comfortable! Jon amd Mia were excellent hosts and ready to jump at any need, which we didn’t need, as everything was perfect! We would definitely stay again.

Perfect Girls Weekend at the Secret Mermaid

The Secret Mermaid was the ideal spot for our girls’ getaway! Three of us met in Mystic, the perfect halfway point for Massachusetts and New York. From the moment we pulled into the driveway, we knew we had found the right place.Mia and John were incredibly responsive, making check-in and check-out effortless. The Amtrak station was just minutes away, which made picking up a friend seamless. Plus, the driveway easily accommodated our two SUVs.Inside and out, the house is simply adorable—impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and instantly welcoming. After stopping for lunch at the famous Mystic Pizza, we settled into the cozy living room, enjoying snacks, drinks, and the warmth of the fireplace in our pajamas. The fully stocked kitchen made it easy to prepare everything we needed, and the bedrooms were spotless, comfortable, and wonderfully quiet. We all had a restful night’s sleep.The next afternoon, we explored Olde Mistick Village and indulged in a late lunch at A&P Oyster Club. The clam chowder, raw bar sampler, and focaccia bread were fantastic, especially with the scenic drawbridge view. A thoughtful gift card from our hosts led us to the amazing Sift Bakery, and we ended the evening once again by the fire, savoring the warmth and charm of this lovely home.We highly recommend The Secret Mermaid and would absolutely stay again—perhaps in warmer weather to explore the seaport! Thank you for providing the perfect home for a truly unforgettable weekend!

My wife Mia and I have a passion for renovating and preserving historic homes and own and operate a historic construction company in Western Ma. We completed the transformation of this home in the Spring of 2024. The house has quite a bit of historic significance (including a published book about childhood at the house in the early 1900s) and we enjoyed adding modern convenience while maintaining its charm and character.
We have 11-year-old twin boys and most of our favorite memories are Summers spent in Mystic, eating ice cream, visiting various beaches, boating, and sunset beach walks. We find Mystic magical and it's definitely our "Happy Place". When you stay as our guest, our hope is for you to make memories to last a lifetime as we have.
Mia and I are very excited for you to discover the many joys of the Mystic area! We are hands-on owners and are readily available for questions during your stay. We are happy to assist you in anything you may need, including information ahead of your stay to help guide you in making reservations for watersports, sunset cruises or any of the exceptional restaurants in the area. We are also able to advise on everything from the many kid-friendly places and activities to adult interests including local vineyards, tastings and festivals.

Mia, my wife... tries to make sure you have everything you could need to enjoy your stay including; a well-stocked kitchen, k cups for the machine, good bedding, very comfortable mattresses, plenty of towels, beach towels and chairs, games, outdoor space to eat and outdoor meal plates, glasses and serving etc, baby travel necessities, paper plates, toiletries, soap for dishes and laundry, a relaxing living room with recliners, throw blankets, and a gas fireplace for the colder months. The house is professionally cleaned and landscaped.
She tries to think of everything and is consistently adding new things. It truly is our goal to make your stay comfortable!
