Reclaimed Materials Provide the Character
The corrugated metal roof, reclaimed wood siding from a 150-year old barn in Ohio, and a low, open porch with peg and post barn beams from another 100+ year old barn define the character of this Low Country style cottage. The allure continues inside with reclaimed wood flooring milled from yellow pine beams taken from the 155-year old former Domino Sugar Refinery in Brooklyn, New York.
The Rooms
The large “Ensuite” main bedroom is located on the second floor and includes a king size bed with a Simmons plush top mattress is so comfortable you will look forward to going to bed every night and not want to get out of bed in the morning.
Two cozy chairs and a small table are set next to a bay of three south facing windows which provide plenty of natural light. This is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or sit in the afternoon sun and read.
A large walk-in closet rounds out the main bedroom with plenty of space to hang your clothes and store luggage and other belongings.
The primary living space is found on the first floor. Two bedrooms – one containing a queen size bed and the other with two twin size beds – share the first floor with a bathroom and an open-concept living room, dining room, and kitchen.
The bedrooms are furnished with unique, eclectic pieces in the coastal farmhouse style. The Serta plush top mattresses provide for a pleasant sleeping experience.
The living room contains a 50 inch “smart” television. Bring your laptop, Ipad, or other device, link to the television to and watch movies and shows from your accounts with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, and other similar services and apps. A smaller "smart" television is available in the main bedroom.
The fully-supplied kitchen contains quartz counter tops, a farmhouse sink with food waste disposal, custom made Shaker-style cabinets, and stainless steel, Maytag appliances. These include a refrigerator with an ice maker, a dishwasher, a microwave oven, and a gas stove with double oven and range.
WiFi is available throughout the house.
A utility closet off the living room contains a stacked washer and dryer.
NOTE
Be aware that it is possible but not likely that you may see Palmetto bugs, a relative of cockroaches, and other insects in or around the house. Insects are very common in the South Carolina Low Country. While they prefer outside habitats, their wanderings will occasionally take them inside where you may encounter them. We do have monthly scheduled treatments around the house and inside as needed.

Why they chose this property
We fell in love with Old Town Bluffton while vacationing here in 2017 - this historic, charming, family-oriented community is irresistible. The shops, art galleries, historic sites, restaurants, parks, and the May River are all within walking distance of our home, as well as a few modern amenities like General Dollar Store, delis, and pizzerias.
The people are very friendly. We enjoying walking around the Stock Farm Community to see all the beautiful homes and our wonderful neighbors.
