Just a one minute walk to the ocean side pool (See Map). Barrier Dunes has a playground, fishing lakes, and tennis courts. Nearby golf course. Other activities include biking, hiking, snorkeling, fishing, and kayaking.

Barrier Dunes is located next to St. Joseph State Park which contains over 2000 acres of pristine beaches, tropical landscapes, and nature trails. Nine miles of award-winning Gulf shoreline featuring turquoise waters, sugary white sand, and awesome dunes that rise more than 20 feet on average. Keywords: Stepped On a Pop-Tart is a lovely, fully equipped, Gulf view town-home in Barrier Dunes. It is an end unit in a very quiet part of Barrier Dunes, and yet one of the closest units to the beach. It's just minutes to the beach and oceanfront pool.
The beach is pristine, fine white sand. You can walk for miles. The water is shallow near the shore, making it an excellent place for small children to play in the surf.
Barrier Dunes itself is ideally situated on the Cape, right next to the entrance to St. Joe's Peninsula State Park with its many hiking, biking, wildlife viewing and beach exploring opportunities. An excellent location also to take a canoe or kayak and explore the wildlife rich back bay. There is also a boat launch, so whether you bring your own boat, and yes, there is parking available for a boat at Stepped on a Pop-Tart, or whether you rent a boat, you can do so easily and conveniently.

Great Place!

Hate to admit it because it may bring more people and make it harder to rent, but we loved the place! Great area - much quieter than crazy PCB or other touristy areas and a very dog-friendly community! Beach is very close - awesome views, not busy even during the day and awesome for morning and evening walks. Thank you!!!

First time to Cape San Blas but it won’t be our last! Rental was perfect! Comfy bed, quiet area, well stocked kitchen. Check in was incredible easy. Lots of great info from host. We will be back!

We would stay here again

The townhouse was as advertised. Clean, spacious and a short walk to the beach, with a nice balcony upstairs where we drank our coffee in the morning. The screened in porch was nice too. Host recommendations on restaurants were spot on. We enjoyed our week in Cape San Blas very much. The water was clear, the beach was fine and uncrowded. We will definitely return!

A Great Stay

This is our second end-of-year celebration at Barrier Dunes and the first at Pop Tart. The beach views are amazing and it is a quick walk to the beach and pool. We had to do some online work while were there and the desk in the master bedroom is marvelous. The internet speed is a little slow, but we made it work.

Excellent Fall Break at Stepped on a Poptart

This property was perfect for my family - 2 adults, 6 year old, and 8 year old. Everything was as advertised. Great communication from the owner. Barrier Dunes community is also fantastic. I highly recommend, and we hope to visit again!

Perfect Location!

Great location convenient to beach and pool. Community is great with the ponds and playground. Perfect for us with our younger kids. The townhouse was good too. Great floor plan! Lots of great beach toys too!

Great location and easy access to the beach

I love that this property welcomes my pet as well as me. The accommodation is comfortable but could use a tiny bit of updating. The big screen TVs and selection of DVDs are a plus, but the best thing is the easy access to the amazing beach!

We enjoyed staying at this property. The proximity to the beach cannot be beat! I think the biggest con was that the WiFi was somewhat spotty and we could have used just a few of more towels. A few of the dishes in the cabinet weren’t completely clean, but we could definitely tell that the effort was taken to make the place as comfortable as possible. I would stay here again!

Very relaxing family vacation

We did enjoy our vacation to the fullest. The property is beautiful and the location breathtaking. It’s very quiet and still ideal for families and dog owners. The house was very clean and nicely decorated. We did like it that the host provided some dish soap, dishwasher tabs, detergent tabs, toilet paper and paper towels. The kitchen was also fully stocked with everything you’ll need to prepare a meal. And on top of that there were also plenty of outdoor toys. The owners really thought of everything. The walk to the beach is literally less than 2 minutes and we didn’t need to worry all the time about our 4 year old since the water is shallow and our older kids still had fun riding waves with their boards. I only had one question, but Kevin replied within 5 minutes. We loved it so much, that we can’t wait to come back!

Nice Stay

The unit has great beach access and is in a family friendly complex. There is a playground and pools great for the kids. Unit has pretty much everything you need for your stay including nice TVs, basic beach supplies, ample linens and kitchen supplies. Owner was accessible and easy to work with. Great for a family vacation and hitting the beach. Furnishings and amenities as pictured. We enjoyed our stay.

We love this place!

This was our second time renting this unit. It is perfect for our family of 3 and 8lb Bichon. Pop Tart has everything we need with close location to the beach, ponds (where my 5yr old enjoys feeding the turtles), the newly built playground, pool, and all the good eats on the Cape. It is very clean and organized! The upper deck is my fav place to sit and watch the sunset. We can’t wait to be back! We’ve rented a dozens of places throughout the years on Cape San Blas and Indian Pass and Flip Flop is our favorite place to rent... hands down!

We like the sandy white beach and clear water.You can bring your dog on the beach and have a bonfire at night on the beach. You also can drive golf carts on the beach and Barrier Dunes has a fishing pond to with fish and turtles
