No curtains.

The house was a nice colonial style home. It was familiar with one I lived in as a teen. It was easy access and hosts responded quickly and even let us check in 2 hours early if it could be cleaned in time. However, upon arrival we immediately noticed there were no curtains on the front glass door or windows. The sheer curtains in the bedroom facing the street and living room was a little nerve racking. There were also no curtains in dining room or kitchen. My mom had to clean the microwave because of a dark substance that smelled. The shelf in fridge below where the ice comes out had soft spiral noodles on it. The floors had to be swept and the bottom tub had dirt in it and again sheer curtains and the water never got warm. I took videos of the carpet that wasn’t vacuumed and had an orange substance on it in the living room. The top bedroom to the right of the office had an outlet that didn’t work at all for the lamp.and pictures but this site won’t let me upload.

Cute House, Nice Location with some issues

I’ve had family in Thomaston for the past 300 years and I’ve always wanted to stay in this house. I live about six hours away and I rented this so my entire family could all be under one roof. I have no idea where you could sleep 10 people as it is advertised. There are only 4 beds. The couch is hardly worth sitting on as far as comfort goes, and any person over 4 ft tall would have their feet hanging off the end if they dared to try to sleep on the couch. Check in was frustrating. Usually once you book a place information is sent to you on how to access the house. There was never any information or instructions sent. About three hours before we arrived I messaged the owner. He never answered so I messaged the owner when we were 1 hour away from the house. There was not any response until AFTER the check in time. The actual accessing the key was not bad once instructions were finally given. Upon arrival we were met with an overflowing garbage can that we had to walk past our entire stay. I’m not talking about just a little overfilled. Trash was piled up on all sides of the can and garbage was blowing around the yard. The yard had a terrible stench because something was rotting in the can which was right by the parking area. Someone had attempted to clean the house before we got there. I know this because the surfaces were all still wet from someone wiping off
