About this property

Peace in Pemaquid - Ocean Sunsets & Stargazing

This home is fully weatherized and comfortable in all seasons!

This spacious but cozy, inexplicably peaceful home is a quick jaunt from Pemaquid Beach and the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. The windows overlook Pemaquid Harbor to the west, which means glorious sunsets over the ocean. The surrounding area has countless options for swimming, hiking, kayaking, and exquisite Maine cuisine, not to mention local art galleries and shops. This charming updated home features a furnished screened porch for bug-free relaxing and a backyard that's ideal for stargazing.

The space
This home would make an equally perfect family or couples getaway spot or artist's retreat. The setting is private and the views from the kitchen, downstairs bedroom, and upstairs rooms are inspirational.

The house has hardwood floors throughout with area rugs made from 100% wool.

It's heated and cooled with quiet, efficient heat pumps.

The kitchen is well-stocked with cookware and dishware--everything you need for home-cooked meals.

Outdoors there is a propane grill (equipment provided) and picnic table with umbrella.

For your listening enjoyment, there is a record player in the living room and a growing record collection that you are welcome to explore! There's also a ping pong table in the basement to keep the kids (and adults!) happily occupied.

The hosts have 3 young kids and are mindful of what families need on vacation. The house is stocked with board games, puzzles, coloring books and supplies, and books for kids of all ages. We can also set up a portable crib on request--just send a note ahead of time.

For peace of mind, the whole house is backed up on a generator so you will never lose power or heat even in an outage.

Both full bathrooms have optional heat lamps in the ceiling--emerge from your bath or shower into toasty warm comfort.

Accessibility: Those with challenges climbing stairs can stay in the bedroom on the ground floor (one queen bed) and have access to the living room, kitchen and dining area, screened porch, and bedroom with attached bathroom without having to navigate stairs. The only stairs to climb would be the steps leading up to the front door.

Breathe easy indoors, as we do not use perfumey air fresheners or other heavily scented products.

Enjoy a 10% discount with a full week's stay.

Please send a message if you have any questions before you book--we'd love to hear from you.

Guest access
Guests can use any part of the house (but please do not use the wood stove in the basement). Outside, a rustic stone wall delineates the boundaries of the property.

Exceed Expectations
The property was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed sitting out on the porch for morning coffee and twilight dinners and founding the well appointed kitchen an added bonus. Communication with the owners was timely and clear.

Hidden Mid-Coast Gem
We (5 adults and 2 dogs) stayed over Christmas and had an amazing experience. The pictures of this small, but very functional, mid-century styled cottage did not capture all of the wonderful details that made Christmas away from home a breeze. The home was very clean and had everything we needed. I would recommend if you are looking for a coastal base camp!

Daughter's wedding weekend
This house was perfect for my husband and I to stay at for my daughters wedding weekend. We also had the day of coordinator stay with us who happens to be a family friend. The house was the perfect set up. My husband and I stayed in the first floor bedroom and bath and our friend had the second floor with her own bathroom. We all had plenty of space. The house was a great location close to the beach and lighthouse as well as a short distance to Damariscotta. It was very clean and organized with more than we needed to have a perfect relaxed stay. We will defiantly stay again.

Great communication with hosts
Cute place for six adults. We had a medical situation with one of our party and our hosts showed concern and extra consideration to ease our minds. Just the right thing to do. Thanks.

Lovely place to stay for a getaway!
We were very happy with the house and location. It was warmly and tastefully decorated with many special touches. The kitchen was well stocked with dinnerware and kitchen utensils, pans, coffee and coffeemaker, etc. The list goes on. The beds were comfortable and roomy. The view out of the back side of the house was amazing! There was also a sunporch which looked very inviting except for the fact that our stay was in February! Thank you to the owners for a warm and cozy place to stay. We would love to go back at some point in the future.

Peace in Pemaquid
It was the little things. The grill was ready for cooking. The house was immaculate. The internet was great for our 20 something children and spouses. The kitchen was nicely laid out. The washer and dryer in the basement was well lit and neat. The driveway was large enough for at least two cars and the rave party we had. (kidding on the rave. We began every morning on the side porch in quiet and rest. Truly it was Peace in Pemaquid. P.S. The area can't be beat. Loved the warm blueberry muffins at Riley's grocery every morning, just up the road.

Family vacation
The house and grounds are clean, well kept, and beautiful. It may seem small but we never felt crowded or in each others’ way. The screened porch felt like another room and gave us more space to relax. Beds and bedrooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms were clean and in good repair. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and was clean and bright as well. The surrounding property is lovely with places to sit and a grill ready to use. The location is perfect for exploring the region and is within a 5-10 minute drive to Pemaquid Lighthouse, Pemaquid Beach, Rachel Carson Pond, and hiking trails. Damariscotta is only 15 minutes away and has everything you need when you run out of supplies. The property owners were attentive and friendly without being intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely book this property again!
