Relaxing Getaway

The deck and back yard overlooking the quiet cove is exactly what we were looking for. No wake boat activity kept the cove quiet. Added bonus in the evening was live music that could be heard, but not too loud, from the Sunset Cove across the water. Our dog enjoyed the fenced in back yard. The house was well stocked, on the small side, but plenty of room for 4 adults and a dog. We didn't spend much time inside other than sleeping. We also did not take advantage of the kayaks, fire pit, sauna and grille that are available along with plenty of seating that overlooks the water. A very pleasant/relaxing environment to enjoy.

Awesome property!

We were in love the minute we walked into the sun room and saw the view. The water access was key as was the fenced in yard for our dogs. We made wonderful memories!!!!

Quiet serene location.

We stayed in Portsmouth for a wedding 15 minutes away. It was just as the description was listed and more. It’s a beautiful location and wished we could have enjoyed it longer. We will return. The owners Doug and Carol responded quickly to all our questions. Cute fenced in yard for our pup. He loved it too.

Perfect Getaway!

One of the best vacations I’ve had. Watched the sunrise through a picture window in the sauna each morning, kayaking right from the property, supplies available to build a fire and option to switch to a gas fire on the deck. Fantastic views of the moon at night during our trip. Fenced in yard for the dog, walk to a dog friendly beach and restaurants. Quick drive to Newport. Cozy beds and roomy set up inside the house as well. Beautifully decorated inside an out including many enjoyable twinkling lights. We enjoyed grilling and creating lasting memories at this amazing spot. This place is a gem. Thanks to our incredible and informative hosts!

Even in February

When you get to the neighborhood you see it’s a densely packed maze of homes and may think, as I did, that there’s no way the house will be secluded enough. Then you arrive and step into the yard and are greeted to a 200+ degree unobstructed view of the water. It’s great. The house is a house. It has everything you need and is comfortable. It’s very much someone’s home but you don’t feel like an intruder. But you stay here for one reason: the view. We spent all of our time either on the deck or in the room directly facing the yard. Being February, we just relaxed and enjoyed the ducks (hundreds of buffleheads and greater scaup) and didn’t spend any time on the water. It was a nice weekend.

Girls Weelend

Great house for a get away with friends. Other than sleeping, we spent all our time on the deck or enclosed front porch so we could enjoy the water views which included a great sunrise. Very clean home and we were able to find everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Great to have the owners check in to see if we needed anything while we were there.

Adorable cottage feels like home

Amazing water views

We spent a week at this home on the water. We enjoyed spending evenings on the deck, as well as sipping our morning coffee on the deck. The views from deck and back room of the home are amazing. The kitchen is fully stocked and the beds are super soft. Carol and Doug were great to work with and responded to messages very quickly. We recommend this property and if you visit, be sure to take the ferry to Block Island, eat at Constatinos in Federal Hill, eat at Localz in Portsmith, get ice cream at Schulzy's, visit the local tide pools, take a Rail Express ride, and go axe throwing in Fall River. There's so much to do in the area; you'll definitely have fun!

Amazing views of the water

You won't be disappointed

We spent a month at Doug and Carols very beautiful bay front rental, it was as described everything you would need, a home away from home. The views of bay from sun room were amazing, magnificent sunrises. We spent most of of time in that area, being fall and sun room facing east on sunny days it was perfect for sitting outside on deck. Great fishing stripers still in bay. The neighbors were very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our time in Portsmouth Ri. Thank you, Doug and Carol. John & Cindy & Captain Morgan our dog.

perfect way to start the summer

We had an amazing stay at Doug and Carol's home right on the water. It was the perfect location to relax while our two girls (10 and 2) explored the shore and played in the yard. Our dog was thrilled to be off leash for a week with the fully fenced in yard. The house had everything we needed and it was a perfect way to start the summer! Thanks for the great vacation, Doug and Carol!

Magnificent views!

The view from the back enclosed porch is what makes this place. You can sit back and watch the movement of the water, the sea gulls dropping clams to prepare their meal and smaller birds nesting in the big tree in the back yard. The place also has a great location. We walked numerous times down to the town beach where you could have you own clam cake taste test between Flo’s and Shultzky’s. We visited Tiverton (Four Corners, Boat House Restaurant and Sakonnet Winery), Middletown and Bristol. We met friends on Federal Hill in Providence which was only 30 minutes away. 15 Point Restaurant is just down the street and not to be missed. The house was decorated like a family home with lots of knickknacks collected over the years. If you have small children, this might give you pause as their is a lot for them to get into. Otherwise it feels like you are visiting family

Mini retreat

Nice quiet cove

Overall the rental was well equipped and comfortable. Doug was very helpful with the local fare, fishing, and clamming advice. The location offered easy access to many local communities such as Bristol & Newport. We had up to six people at any one time and the house was well suited for this many people. As with any rental there are always a few minor inconveniences but nothing worth noting. I would recommend this rental.

We are a married couple with four grown children, one grandchild so far, and love the blue ocean and nature. Doug has his own business restoring roofs, and Carol is a registered nurse.

Why they chose this property

We love the location and beautiful views. Also having a nice clean ocean to swim, boat, fish, and go clamming in without getting in your car to find and pay for parking is wonderful. It is our happy relaxing place to enjoy and we feel blessed to have been able to purchase it.
