About this property

Three Lakes Chain Lakeside Cabin -Reed Road Retreat

The RRR is a place to come and unplug from the busyness of your everyday life. Walk out the front door and take in the sounds of the waves brushing up on the lakeshore and the soothing smell of pine trees. Those sounds and smells spell one thing- rest. This cabin and one other home are located on a 6-acre wooded property for added peace and quiet. The driveway is shared with the other house on the property.
Located on the northern shore of Big Fork Lake on the Three Lakes Chain, the cabin is right across from the Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest. The area is a prime silent sports location for biking, hiking, boating, fishing, kayaking and walking. We are six miles from the shops and restaurants of downtown Three Lakes and 16 miles south of Eagle River. There is a public boat launch only 4 miles away and many multi-purpose trails within a short drive. Dock a boat or pontoon at the private pier. Boat rentals are available at nearby marinas.
The cabin was built in the 1950's and has recently been completely updated to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Amenities include a charcoal grill, patio table and chairs, dock, TV, DVD player, microwave and games. Cabin has newly installed fiber internet. There are two kayaks for rent at $50 each for the week.
Big Fork Lakes is 37 feet deep at maximum and the cabin frontage is sandy/rocky with a gradual slope to the middle of the lake. The cabin is located just yards from the shoreline for a stunning lakefront experience.

We look forward to hosting your next vacation to the Northwoods of Wisconsin!

Great setting on the lake. Good place to launch a kayak or canoe. We lost power one night from a storm, The owners have a cottage next door and happened to be there. The next morning they stopped to check on us and brought coffee! Richard, the property manager, also texted to make sure we weathered the storm. It was greatly appreciated.

Nice place

My only suggestion would be to supply bath towels as people come from all over the world to stay there, and for not to have bath towels was a little disappointing. The curtains need to be removed and shades need to be put up as you can’t open the windows with the curtains in the windows. Also the rods we’re all broken.

Quiet place in the woods

We stayed with my wife and 4 yo daughter. Had plenty of fun. Fishing from pier was excellent. Caught some perch, smallmouth bass and walleye. Mosquitos were crazy but that’s how it is in the woods. Feed a deer which came about 5ft to us. Area is very nice quiet with lots of pine trees which smells beautiful. We would love to come back.

Reed Road Retreat

Property was adequate. Very private but rusty water dampened the experience. Nice property with boat dock.

Revisiting the North Woods

Reed Road Retreat was a perfect location for us to easily revisit friends on FourMile Lake and to connect with family members staying on Long Lake. The view from the cabin & the pier is quite lovely. The cabin was well-stocked with kitchen utensils & linens. Our biggest frustration was the size of the shower stall -- a bit snug for my husband, who is a large man.

Comfy Cabin in the Woods

Perfect location to downtown Three Lakes and Eagle River. This rustic cabin is less than 20 steps from the water and close enough to hear the waters movement thru the big open windows that provide a perfect view of Big Fork Lake. The cabin itself is super clean and comfy and has everything you could possibly need in the kitchen for your stay. Property managers Rich and Mark are minutes away if needed, although they were not needed. We absolutely loved our stay at the Reed Road Retreat! Definitely coming back!

Reed Road Retreat North Woods Beauty

We had a very nice stay at the Reed Road Retreat. Small and modest, just what we needed for taking a break from a crazy, busy Summer of work and what's arising in society. The lake is right out the door. Pine forest shelters wonderfully. Cabin is appointed with everything you need, and the fire pit near the lake shore was a great place to hang out. Being near the end of Reed Road, the location is a good one for peace and quiet. We rented a canoe during our stay and it was great to be able to put in and paddle right out the front door. The lakes are easy to explore right from the cabin dock. There are also lots of outdoor activities in the Three Lakes area that are easily accessible. Highly recommended spot for a North Woods get away.

A true retreat space

An isolated cabin on the edge of the lake. Covers all the needs for the boater, biker, birder and nature lover. Was able to tie up my fishing boat to the dock and come and go at will. Managed to visit 14 of the lakes in the chain. Management was super helpful with cleanup of a downed tree after a violent summer storm.

We are from Wisconsin and love the outdoors! We also love meeting new people and traveling.

Why they chose this property

Big Fork Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes on the chain. We are at the tip of the chain so it is usually pretty quiet but easily accessible to all the other lakes on the chain. We love boating to the two restaurants on the chain and taking the boat lift over to the Eagel River chain for a fun day adventure.

What makes this property unique

The cabin is right on the water (own private dock) and the setting is very private.
