About this property

If you want to be in the heart of town and walk anywhere this is it. It is on the first block, steps to the sand and steps to any restaurant or bar. Right next door to the Catalina Island Conservancy so easy if you want a tour or event. Two nice decks, you can have a drink and enjoy the views or people watch. All newly redone, nice everything. Nice new TV. It technically is a one bedroom but it is 1100 sq ft with two euroloungers that fold out and all bedding/towels included. This is a fun place to go and you will love it, we do.

The Maids don't clean the toy room so thanks for helping with that. Please be respectful with noise. No parties are allowed. Never allow other people to be in the house without you being present.

Love the Yellow House

The Yellow House is a great place to stay in Avalon and Marty is a great host. It’s convenient to everything and we loved sitting out on the porch watching the golf carts go by. We took out the kayaks and SUP and had a great weekend overall.

Family trip

We (2 adults and an older kid) enjoyed staying at the yellow house. It was clean, full kitchen, nice space and location. I would definitely stay here again.

Best Place in Town!

This little house is right in the heart of town, walking distance to everything. It might be the cleanest home rental I have stayed in from the white linens to the spotless floor. If you plan to do activities on the island, this is the place. The bed is comfortable; there is a large television; and it has a full kitchen. The host is wonderful and even sent me a text that I could check in early because the cleaners were finished. There is also a place to store your luggage before or after your stay. My only suggestion would be to change out the chairs on the dining room table so that they are better sized to the table height, which would provide both a better dining experience and also a workspace. Other than that, it is perfect. High recommend!

Pleasant Stay at The Yellow House

Really nice and clean casita. The best location. 5 minute walk from the ferry. The toy room had everything. Bikes, canoes, SUP boards, golf clubs. Well organized. Marty was cool. Checked on us, and everything worked out. I would recommend a stay here for a couple or a small family of 4 or less.

Enjoyable Stay

This property is centrally located to the ferry, beach and shopping. If you like hiking/trail running/biking the trails are a short distance away. The owner is detail oriented and responds quickly when contacted. We liked having a balcony on each level. We enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again should we come back to Santa Catalina Island.

Perfect!

Marty is a great host, the place was clean and comfortable, location was close to everything, and the toy room was clean, organized, and has everything you need to have a good time in Avalon. We worked remotely all week and the internet was strong. We will be back!

The perfect stay in Avalon

We absolutely loved our stay here in the "yellow house". Not only is it lovely but the location is perfect... just up from and walking distance to everything in the main part of town. It had everything we needed from kitchen supplies to a first aid kit. The balconies overlooking the street and with a glimpse of the water were amazing to sit on with coffee. The communication with the owners was seamless. I almost don't want to give this great a review so we don't have competition when we come back... and we will for certain. We can't wait to stay here again!

Birthday Vacation

House had everything you need. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans. We enjoyed all the amenities the two decks were perfect for outdoor living. The bed was very comfortable. Location was close to downtown and restaurants. The entire house was very clean and spacious. We would love to return and stay again.

Beyond expectations!!

I really can't say enough about our stay in the 2 level Yellow House. We spent a few days there for my birthday and it was exceptional! The pictures don't do it justice. So much thought was put into making sure guests have everything they need for their stay. The kitchen was equipped like it was someone's home. The knives were sharp, the pans were real non-stick, the cabinet was full of spices, there was filtered water coming out of a small spicket in the kitchen sink, the double sink was deep, and you had everything utensil and appliance you could think of! The bed was super comfortable, I even asked where it was purchased and plan on buying one!! Even the sofa beds were comfortable to sleep and sit on. We enjoyed eating meals and having drinks on both decks (great views by the way). We needed a little assistance to figure out how to use the tv and Marty replied with a call within minutes to explain how to use it. We could access just about anything we wanted and the wi-fi was fast and reliable. It was a quick and easy walk from the ferry, around town to different restaurants and stores, and to the grocery store. I hands down highly recommend the Yellow House in Avalon without hesitation!

Our favorite family vacation spot

Avalon is a great vacation spot. Yellow house checks off all the boxes of a great vacation. We have stayed here many times and it feels like our home away from home. I have watched my grandson thru the years make lasting memories. Thanks Marty

Best stay on the island

We absolutely LOVE the yellow house. Location is excellent, host Marty is so lovely & accommodating, and the home is perfect for our family of 4. This time around it was just me and my son for the Catalina marathon. It felt nice to stay in this, “home-away-from-home” and I’m stoked to report it was my best marathon yet. Look forward to returning next year

Perfect for our needs!

The yellow house in Avalon was about as close to perfect for our needs. We went on a family vacation and brought my son's best friend with us (both 15). The access to the beach and to bikes made the trip even better than we expected. Communication was great overall and I hope we're lucky enough to go back and stay at this yellow house in the future!!!

Favorite easy getaway!

Marty and the Catalina Yellow House are the absolute best - we love this place so much we’ve returned multiple times over the past few years. Walking in the door feels like our own personal vacation home away from home - clean comfortable easy breezy and close to everything! Check in is always simple, Marty is very communicative and proactive with helpful info (we’ve even lucked out a few times with early arrival/late check out). Can’t beat the 2 ocean view decks and bonus full “toy box” with all sorts of fun ways to enjoy Catalina!

Excellent time spent at the little yellow house…

I treated my sister to a mini vacation on Santa Catalina Island. The little yellow house was perfect, excellent location, Marty was outstanding as a host. Everything was as described in the listing. We could ask for no more. The house was exceptionally clean, excellent views from the front deck. We cannot wait to return.!

Great little place

My friend and I went over (she had never been there). The house was right by the beach, the store, restaurants, and the pier, and within walking distance to everything. The house is super cute, and very clean, and will stay there again. Make sure you have your coffee on the third floor watch the water and relax. Thank you again for everything :)
