About this property

Two Dunes - Secluded Beach At Your Door

Relax to the sound of the surf at your doorstep in this private, open concept couples retreat.

Two Dunes is luxuriously secluded, situated as the only house on a mile of powder-soft pink sand beach. With floor to ceiling windows filling the walls and multiple walk-outs, you are immersed in a stunning ocean view from both inside and out. A huge deck surrounds the house, equipped with sun beds, picnic table and loungers front and back for true outdoor living. Step off the deck, onto the sand and right into the clear turquoise water. No need to pack a beach bag! The covered terrace provides shade and lovely views from its position elevated above the beach. The private outdoor shower provides a refreshing cleanse while gazing at the surf.

The second house is private space and is never occupied when Two Dunes is rented.

Explore the reefs just offshore in the clear-bottomed kayak and bring your snorkels. The swimming is excellent with a nice sandy bottom just beside the house as well as a sandy bottomed 'reef pool' at low tide.

The house has a comfortable king bed with luxury linens, HDTV DVD and Media Library with 700 movies and 100 TV shows, iPod docking station, full bath, kitchen equipped with high-powered blender for cocktails, Internet access, A/C and ceiling fans. Huge windows on three walls provide tons of light and spectacular ocean views. Three large doors walk out onto the terrace and deck.

Just a few minutes away is the town of Palmetto Point, which provides restaurants and stores. Also close by are many other beaches, the town of Governor's Harbour, Sky Beach Club, the airport (only 17 miles away), Island Farm and other attractions.

Directly behind the house is a picturesque inland lake with a variety of fish, plentiful bird watching opportunities and spectacular sunsets.

Two dunes stay
No jetted tub as advertised, curtains very dirty, one long power outage and two short ones (which means no water usage and had to use a bucket of water from the ocean to flush toilet). Generator never started the entire stay even though a repairman came out to fill an empty propane tank. Reported to Natasha several times and responses were slow or not at all. Enjoyed the seclusion and views and Rachel was pleasant to deal with. Felt like the property was overpriced.

This place is magical, and just keeps getting better. Updates to the interior and appliances were pleasant. Make use of Island Farms nearby - you'll want to stay here as much as possible and enjoy the privacy of your own coral pool.

Better Each Time
We thought the property was perfect last year. Well, we were wrong. Spruced up deck with some new boards, and a fresh coat of paint all around. The back porch with covering is completely redone, looked like a lot of work...everything so well done, 2 thumbs way up. We are looking forward to next year. P.S.: Thank you Natasha for helping with the rental car, best one we've had so far.

Exactly what we needed - perfection!
We had a wonderful two-week stay at Two Dunes. Everything was great and we can't imagine a better place to have stayed. Depending on your length of stay you may want to arrange a 5 gal bottle of water to be at the cottage. It was about $6. There's no real point in shopping around for rental cars - they all seem to be about the same price and Natasha was really convenient. We rented the car for 9 out of the 14 days that we were there. We had some thunderstorms and there were several days that the seas were very rough (but beautiful). We lost power on almost a daily basis (usually for less than an hour) and one time for over 16 hours. The cottage was definitely the highlight and we were quite content to sit on the deck or the couch (depending on no-seeums) and watch the water for hours. We went to Harbour Island, Spanish Wells, and Lighthouse Point. We used dune buggies for Lighthouse Point - some people that we had met said that it was one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and it did not disappoint. We've left the contact information in the Guest Book for that trip. We enjoyed Spanish Wells more than Harbour Island. The bakery in Governor's Harbour makes the best bread. Cookies at the Bakery in Tarpum Bay. Barn House Bar and Grill at Wemyss Bight for a full plate of conch fritters for only $5 and an incredible beach. Thanks Rachel and Natasha for a perfect stay - we're already making plans to come back.

Fantastic Location
My husband and I decided to spend our Christmas holiday on Eleuthera and Two Dunes was a fantastic location to just sit back and relax. Rachel was very responsive to all of my questions leading up to our stay. When we arrived, we found that the house had everything that we could need. We did experience one issue with the generator which was very quickly resolved by Natasha and we had no further issues after. The only reason I'm giving an overall 4 stars instead of 5, is that the bed is way past its lifespan and needs to be replaced. Unfortunately we woke up daily with back and neck pain and while the bed is not the highlight of the house, a good night's sleep is crucial for fully enjoying your stay. Bed aside, we loved the location and would happily stay again.

Beautiful house on the beach
This home and property are incredible for anyone that enjoys beaches and the ocean. I visited over a dozen beaches on Eleuthera and the “private beach” right in front of the house was easily the best. And if you like privacy, this is the place to stay. We barely saw a single person during our stay. Thhesunrises are incredible each morning while enjoying coffee on the porch or wine during the sunsets. The house comes with many beach amenities as well as two kayaks. I had an incredible experience kayaking in front of the house accompanied by a pod of dolphins and sea turtles. The house is very comfortable and the kitchen has all the amenities necessary should you decide to cook. A barbecue was also nice to cook the fresh fish we bought back from the local market. I would not hesitate to return again.

Exquisite
We have been to Eleuthera a number of times. This was the best by far. The house was nice and clean. The beach in front of the house is one of the best on the island and it's private! The only people we saw were a couple of people around the bend to the right of the house (when facing the house), but they didn't hang out just waded out and then left. This happened several times. We think it's because the eleuthera beach book describes a unique tidal pool there which they were looking for. However it doesn't seem to exist anymore. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip!

Beautiful Location and House
It was a pleasure to stay at the Two Dunes house. The private location is right on a pink sand beach just steps from your back door. To the left is a soft beach with an easy sandy entrance to the water and to the right are beautiful rocks. The kitchen is very well stocked to cook meals. The location is in the center of the island allowing for easy exploration of the island. Bring bug spray as this really helps at dusk and dawn on every out island. Two Dunes is on the Atlantic side so the breeze helps push the bugs away. Go to the fish market in Governor’s Harbor (GH) and purchase some fresh fish. Da Conch (Tammy’s) hut has great conch. Island Farm is close to the house and has lots of vegetables and great prices on rum. Burrow’s one stop shop has groceries and a liquor store in GH. Get some fresh Bahamian bread in GH (Hot Buns). Stop at the Rainbow Bay Inn for a bottle of BA HA MA RO liquor made locally from plants on the island. All the beaches are wonderful and Ten Bay Beach is very close and calm. The stars at night are wonderful because there is no light in the area and look for glowing bugs in the mangroves. We highly recommend two dunes for your next vacation. Rachel was an excellent host and helped us with travel arrangements. Natasha was also very helpful with directions and a rental car. We already miss Eleuthera and can’t wait to book our next trip at Two Dunes. Thank you again Rachel and Natasha for sharing this piece of paradise.

Felt Like Teenagers, Again!
Private comfortable seclusion… The location is perfect, the beach is perfect, and the deck is perfect. The kitchen was more accommodating than nearly any other VRBO listing we've stayed in, both in Eleuthera and U.S., so nice not to have to reuse the same pot cooking a single meal. The leftover condiments and spices were on point. I'll bring some Cajun and Creole spices next year to add to the tray. The salt water touched exterior, and shipwrecked yacht added charm, and warmth to an already perfect scene. Nitpick: the sofa/single bed could be replaced with a normal sofa; it was uncomfortable but in no way a deal breaker, hence the nitpick label. Can’t wait to go back in time next year!!!

Rest and Reconnect at Two Dunes
Two Dunes is exactly what we needed to relax and reconnect. The beach is beautiful and the house is full of every amenity we needed. It was nice to have a couple of condiments and spices while cooking up fresh fish and lobster as well as making lunch for the day. It was close enough to town to run and get supplies or groceries. Natasha helped us in many ways and cooked and delivered a delicious meal. Since we went on an American holiday week, the beach was quite busy compared to the other reviews I had read. Just to the north was occupied daily. I think the secret is out that it is a beautiful secluded beach. We visited several other beaches and we ended up coming back to Two Dunes. We also decided not to visit Harbor Island because we didn’t want to miss a day on our beach. We will definitely visit Eleuthera in the future and hopefully Two Dunes will be available to rent! Thanks for an unforgettable vacation , Rachel and Natasha!

Property was as described. Gorgeous gorgeous views, beautiful soft pink sand, blue ocean waters, I loved falling asleep to sound of waves crashing on rocks. Convenient to grocery stores in Tarpum Bay and Governors Harbour as well as many beaches. Bed was fabulously comfortable, kitchen well supplied for cooking in. Only recommendation would be a few new knives or a knife sharpener. Natasha was a pleasure to work with and so helpful to us. No issues with our stay, would love to stay again in future if Rachel would have us.

Heaven on Earth!!!
OMG, absolute BLISS! Let me start by saying we’ve already booked our next stay at Two Dunes. My husband and I are very spoiled when it comes to beautiful beaches (French Polynesia, Caribbean Islands, family lives on Kauai and we live just 15 minutes from a fantastic beach in Florida). That being said, NOTHING compares to the view and gorgeous water and beach of Two Dunes! Every morning when we awoke, we just could not believe our eyes at the view. Truly stunning! And then add PRIVACY to the view and WOW, just one of a kind! Now, put on top of all that, the most wonderful VRBO hostess in Rachel! Super responsive, caring and even without having met Rachel in person, we feel as if we’ve known her forever. Now add on one more layer of wonderful, the most fantastic house manager in the world, Natasha! Natasha took such fantastic care of us and we’re so very grateful to her! I truly don’t have the words to convey how appreciative we are to Rachel and Natasha. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! See you next year and every year thereafter!

The house had most everything we needed for our stay. We were very comfortable and had no problems with anything in the house. Natasha is very responsive when you contact her. With that said it’s the outside of the place that makes it worth a visit. The views are just stunning. One of the prettiest beaches that we saw right at your door step.

Relaxation and seclusion on steroids
My wife and I were looking for a place to relax and recharge. We definitely found it at Two Dunes. The house is a simple bungalow with kitchen, dining area, living area, sleeping space and a bathroom, with amazing decks right on the edge of the water. It was well equipped with everything we needed, and Natasha (the property manager) helped us out by stocking it with essentials before we arrived. She also prepared us a delicious dinner on our first night and was very responsive and helpful. The beach is awesome, on the Atlantic side of the island so you get some waves, and occasionally there is some seaweed but not enough to be a bother. You can walk for miles in either direction, and we only saw six other people the entire time - and that was the first day. Water is crystal clear, sand is beautiful. It takes well over an hour to get there from N. Eleuthera airport. Governor’s Harbor is about a 20 minute drive away (note that the roads are pretty sketchy, so it’s slow going). We cooked some days, and dined out others. Food is very expensive either way. A lot of people talked about the bugs, and there are some right at sunset, but the locals know how to deal with them. We never could get the TV to work (they only have recorded movies and TV shows - no live TV), but hey, you’re not there to watch tv right? If you stay there, feed the little cat who shows up every day at happy hour. We definitely intend to go back again.

Mother Nature wasn't kind - Seaweed invasion
The beach was unfortunately buried in seaweed this year. We were here at Two Dunes at the same time last year and enjoyed it so much we came back this year. Unfortunately, Mother nature wasn't playing nice. This year the beach is buried in seaweed, literally 2 and 3 feet deep in areas, and the beach has eroded significantly. The view from the porch overlooking the ocean is still beautiful with the mile of privacy, but the beach is covered in muck, not pretty pink sand as in the pictures. Also, the decaying seaweed lends an unpleasant smell outside, which you do get accustomed to, but is unpleasant for at least 10 to 15 minutes. This is obviously not the property owners fault, but definitely had a negative impact on our trip. They have installed a Generac which has made the cottage nicer than last year as when the routine power outages that frequently occur on the island, the cottage now has seamless power. You simply let Natasha know if you've been on generator power for a long time to monitor the propane level. Natasha was very helpful during our stay this visit.

Cute little cottage in a gorgeous location
The views are endless and amazing. The kitchen is very well stocked for cooking meals. I appreciate they leave spices, Saran Wrap and things like that from previous guests. There are actually enough hooks for towels and bathing suits too! Having access to the kayaks and beach chairs is a great perk. A few more hangers(and some pant hangers) would be great. The air conditioner needs a good cleaning. As someone with a dust allergy, I always check out ceiling fans and vents before using them, it’s why I scored cleanliness a bit lower, everything else was clean. I would stay here again if we return to Eleuthera.

We have stayed at Two Dunes previously and love the peace and seclusion that it provides. The house was just right, providing the perfect environment for relaxation. We loved the deck and beach, the outside shower and the views from the windows, spanning 3 sides of the house. The privacy was amazing and so rarely found. Just perfect.
