We were very happy with how clean and comfortable this space was. Michelle was very easy to talk to and made sure we had everything we needed. The personal touches were also nice!
The house was very beautiful and a lovely home away from home for the weekend. The only thing we had issues with were the beds not being that comfortable but over all it was great! We would probably stay again!

Liked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, communication
Michelle is amazing to work with and an excellent communicator. The property was clean and very welcoming. Everything you think you could need, or might even forget seems to be available. Would definitely stay again. One of a kind place and experience!
This is our second time staying (with a 3rd already booked in 2 weeks again!) at Michelle's home. We absolutely love this home - and it's perfect for our quick trips out to Ortonville for hunting. Michelle had a batch of cookies on the table for us (which were delicious!) and even had a personalized welcome sign for our stay! The home was clean, everything we needed was well kept and readily available - and we had NO issues at all. I cannot recommend Michelle and her home enough, it's truly a fantastic experience!
This was a wonderful place for our family fishing trip. The place was clean, accommodating, and well stocked for cooking our meals. Games, books, and movies were available if you had a rainy day. Excellent lake access and the fishing was great during our stay. A short drive to Big Stone City or Ortonville. Michelle was very nice to work with and communication was very prompt. I would highly recommend for a Big Stone Lake stay.
Michelle's lake house was a great place to stay. She had the place spotless when we showed up, was flexible with our schedules, and was hands down a great host. Would def recommend her place for anyone. We all said multiple times during our weekend that her place would also be great for summer and open water fishing or any type of vacation. House has a great layout with awesome views. Great location right on the water and near multiple lake accesses. A++++++
My husband and I came up to fish with some friends for the weekend. We were excited to find this home right on the water with a spot the guys could drop us off if we were tired of fishing. Needless to say we did not tire of fishing! We caught plenty of bluegills to keep us busy most of the day! This home has a wonderful front deck overlooking the water. We had a well stocked kitchen for making breakfast and lunch on the boat. There is an enormous table to accommodate a group of any size! The beds were very comfortable. I believe the home is even better than the pictures show! We appreciated the quick response from Michelle anytime a question arose. She was very accommodating!
This sweet, cozy and warm home was the perfect solution for our hunting weekend! We only had 4 guys, but certainly could’ve fit more! Not only was the fireplace wonderful and warm, but the whole setup makes you feel welcomed. The beds are actually incredibly comfortable, and the whole place was very clean, top to bottom. The host does a wonderful job in providing so many extra goodies (coffee, cookies, essentials, etc.) that we certainly felt welcomed.
Michelle, our host was absolutely a delight to message back and forth, and made us a wonderful batch of cookies (to which were gone by the time we got home today). The instructions were clear, and the whole process was a breeze.
Thank you Michelle for creating such a wonderful experience for us, we'll be back again for sure!

About the host
Hosted by Michelle Henderson
I like being a host because as someone with three kids of my own, short term rentals are usually a better option. I like providing others with a clean and peaceful place to vacation. I would love to make things easier for families and friends to enjoy time together!
FUN FACTS: 1. My husband and I have completely gutted 2 stories of our house and put in our own blood, sweat, and tears to complete it. We sold it while we were still painting! 2. I once had a commercial bakery in my garage. 3. I am originally from North Dakota! 4. I have been a stay at home mom for 9 years now. 5. We bought a lake cabin but I don't know how to swim!!
Why they chose this property
Our cabin is pretty peaceful which is my favorite thing! We are far enough away from town to enjoy the peace and quiet but if we need to run for supplies of any kind it is a short distance.
What makes this property unique
We do have a generator, so if we have bad weather of any kind (no matter the season), we never have to worry about losing power!
