Weekend family trip
The inside of the house was ok. The outdoors were neglected. Upon arriving we noticed the outdoor grill area full of dust/dirt and cobwebs. The fire pit area was filthy, no one bothered to sit there. Pillows were covered in dirt and bird droppings and when the pillows were moved there were tons of spiders and bugs behind them. The pool, although beautiful, no one wanted to swim because there was a dead rodent floating face down. Called and let the host know, they said someone would be out in the morning to clean the pool. They said that was just nature. When we returned the pool looked exactly the same, except for the fact that the rodent had been removed. Pool was not even skimmed. The “solar heated” pool was ice cold. Even though there was some sun, I wouldn’t advise booking on chillier days. Pool heater’s are supposed to help when you choose to go out for a late night swim. I’d definitely opt for a pool with a heater that’s not solar powered I guess. They did deduct the cleaning fee, considering the fact that there’s a sign that says you must clean and do the dishes before leaving and also cleaning their patio seating area and washing the covers for their pillows I’m glad they did. Definitely nicer places out there for the money though. I was just in a rush and didn’t realize it till it was too late. My advice to the host, have someone check on the rental property before your guest arrive, as a common courtesy. My trip was not what I envisioned because of this.
