Fun for all ages!
We had a fabulous family and friend stay at Terri's house. Our goal was to stay together and go skiing for 2 days, which we did. The house had lots of board games and a well stocked kitchen with every kitchen pot, board, tool, etc. needed to make meals. The pool table room was a big hit!

Great Place and Space for All Ages
Wonderful home for our family gathering. There is space indoors and outdoors for everyone - and activities, toys, games for all ages indoors and outdoors provided by the host. Terri has thought of everything. The kitchen was designed for big fun meal preps with everything you need from pots and pans to the space and function of the design. Our visit was in the fall but we can see how this would easily be a wonderful place for any season!

Family week at the schoolhouse
A week long stay at the schoolhouse created memories that will last forever. We were pleasantly surprised upon opening the door. The house was beautiful, clean, updated and full with activities to keep the little ones busy. Bring the smores and enjoy the outdoor fire pit or relax on the couch near the fireplace. The house easily accomadated our family of 9 with ample space remaining. We already have made plans for our return. Ty Terri for helping me create a perfect summer vacation week.

This place was fantastic, such a wonderful place for a family.
We never booked a vacation rental before, we wanted to bring our adult children and their spouses along with 4 young children for the week. This house made the vacation possible and we had a great time. The house was great for families, it was so well equipped for entertaining, relaxing, and exceptionally clean. The kitchen is wonderful with many large pots and pans, bowls, and cooking utensils. Off the kitchen is a great screened porch with views of the river. All the beds are new and very comfortable in well appointed bedrooms. There is a large upper bedroom that would be great for one family or used as a kids room. The main area of the house is great for lots of people and the sun room area affords a great view of the backyard and access to the large patio. Each evening, all ten of us dined on the large picnic table outside. WE enjoyed the firepit and the gas grill is new and works great. There's a ton of games, puzzles, fishing poles, and toys for all ages. A great entertainment system is found in the living room. The laundry area is modern and bright. Our family had fun in the backyard roaming the many trails and the tree house. The pond is a bit longer hike but one can drive there if they wish. We had several activities planned for the Lake George area and it is a quick 10 minute drive to the Lake George village. For swimming we visited wonderful Echo Lake, 5 minutes away. This property made our trip fun and successful. I would highly recommend this property.

About the host

Hosted by Terri Jamison

Host profile image
We could not resist this property for we owned 200 acres adjoining it, and patiently watched as Scott Thomas, master woodworker with origins in Princeton, New Jersey, meticulously renovated it over the course of a decade. One step inside this house reminded us of our home in Buck County, around New Hope, Pennsylvania.

Why they chose this property

The rich wood and stone work and primitive styles mixed with colonial classic was a familiar and comforting memory of our past lives before moving to the Adirondacks in 1994. Having lived on this bend on the Schroon River, at the base of the "Three Sisters" mountain range, for ten years, and growing to appreciate the evolving nature of the River across the way, the view of river that the Schoolhouse afforded was irresistible. Perched high on the hill, overlooking the entire bend in the river, the house was the gatekeeper of the mountains that stretch along the Hudson and Schroon Rivers, and an essential piece of the puzzle that we call "Good Earthy Park".

What makes this property unique

Reviews:

Renovated old school house with a lot of charm and scenic views. Enjoyed staying here with our two toddlers. The place has so many fun things for kids to play with. The owner is very responsive and helpful. The location is close to Lake George and other places to visit in the area.

The house is everything you could want in an Adirondack getaway. Ample space indoors and out, convenient location, and plenty to do and see both off the property and on. Very clean and up to date as well. Highly recommend to large groups or families looking to share a house.

Look no further, this house & location is perfect for a larger group! We were able to get to Saratoga, Lake George, and enjoy Warrensburg with all it has to offer! The response time from the owners was great and they were able to answer any questions quickly and efficiently.

Our stay here was great ! It’s perfect for a family with kids. The kids were entertained with the board games, instruments, and the huge back yard. Lake George is just a short drive away.

Beautiful home on pristine wooded property and excellent fishing within walking distance! This Airbnb offers something for everybody! Wish I never had to leave!

Loved the house and all it had to offer. Well stocked with games, interesting artifacts/decorations and Adirondack reading material. Numerous places inside and outside to gather. The large back patio, the abundant open grass area, observation deck up in the tree and access to trails into the woods add so many possibilities. Easy trip into the Town of Lake George for more activities. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need. Loved the Schroon river views as well!

The home was super cozy and comfortable. It was well stocked with linens, towels and all of the cookware you could possible need for your stay. It was also very clean and well kept. It was a great experience and the location is great! Just a few miles away from Lake George and stores near by.
