Our "Templeton" townhome is in the Bluewater Complex on Pleasure Island and only eight blocks south of the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. You will be within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and an abundance of summer activities such as fireworks, carnival rides, movie at the lake, and live music all at our legendary Carolina Beach Boardwalk.

Have fun in the sun while staying at this three-level, oceanfront townhouse! There are 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and enough space to accommodate the whole family. Enjoy your morning coffee and watching the sunrise from one of the three spacious oceanfront balconies. The first floor features an open floorplan kitchen with an eat in kitchen bar that seats two and overlooks the dining room and living area. The dining table seats four and welcomes family meals or evening board games. The living room offers a great gathering space to relax and watch TV and a sleeper sofa enables this space to transform into an additional sleeping area for extra guests. A large sliding glass door leads out to the large balcony with an outdoor dining set that seat up to six people. Enjoy dining ocean front as the waves crash in the background! There is a half bathroom next to the kitchen, for convenience.

On the second floor, you will find two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a Queen bed, private full bathroom with shower tub combination, and private ocean front balcony with rocking chairs. The second bedroom on this floor is perfect for the kids with two twin beds and a separate full bathroom with a standing shower.

The third floor has the spacious primary suite that offers privacy and a great place to escape to relax. A large Queen-size bed, TV, and oceanside balcony with rockers make this the ultimate retreat at the end of a long day. The primary suite also includes its own full bathroom that has a walk-in shower.

Updated windows ensure that you will never miss the opportunity to catch a pod of dolphins offshore, or the majestic seabirds flying about. The beach access is just at the end of the building, making it a convenient location to walk to the beach. Great location but...

The good: absolutely wonderful location and beautiful views. Easy walk to the boardwalk even for little kids. The public access to beach was right next to the property. Although I didn't mind it being public, it would have been nice to know because it did get blocked on the off- season weekend with golf carts. The space of the rooms and layout of the proprty was perfect for our family. The bad: the place was absolutely filthy and in disrepair. I don't mean it hadn't been cleaned, they're was clearly years of grime built up on the furniture. Photo hooks with no pictures, an outlet hanging out of the wall, broken chairs inside and out, it looked like a kindergarten class with dirty hands was let loose with markers. Overall it needs updating, but beyond that the master bathroom looks like it should in a horror movie. Limescale covering the shower head, cracks in the walls, cheap plastic surround that is barely big enough for a small adult and no way to keep water contained. The carpets were stained and worn, again with deep brown grime. The place could be wonderful with a little updating and basic maintenance.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

The title is a spoof on that well known real estate phrase and in this case it is very true. This townhome is in a great location with fantastic views of the beach, particularly from the 2nd and 3rd floor balconies. It is also within easy walking distance of the boardwalk and activity area in downtown Carolina Beach. As other reviewers have noted the interior of the home is very dated, in fact I would say it is pretty much in the original condition when built last century, accept for carpets, etc. The outside of the entire complex has been totally renovated so the balconies, rails and sliders are all in good, new condition. But we really did not care, the price point reflects the condition of the interior. The home is still very comfortable and if you have couples staying there, as we did, there is plenty of private space. My only gripe about the home were two things. Firstly, some of the furniture was in poor condition. There was a chair on the top balcony that was literally falling apart and quite unsafe to sit on. No excuse for that. Secondly, we had a small child with us and the pickets on the stair rails are far apart and easy for a child to fall through. This is actually a code violation and I was surprised the rental company (Bryant) had not insisted this be corrected as it is liability. Those are the only two reasons I marked this townhome down to 4 stars overall. But to be quite honest I would rent again as it is just such a fantastic location for the price.

Great location!

As in previous reviews the house was a little run down but that didn’t bother us because we felt more comfortable and at home. It was clean. We can’t say enough great things about the location! The garage actually has a door that opens into the sand. The beach access is just at the end of the building, less than 100 steps. Easy walk to the boardwalk and night life! We loved this area and this property! We would definitely stay here again!

Met our wants and needs

The condo is perfectly located. Access to the beach was adequate but took a couple of trips since the public access was almost a block away. The place was clean and more than sufficient in terms of space. Parking was a challenge due to small driveway and the need to “fit” one of our two cars in the garage. Family living in the area had to pay for public street parking whenever they visited. It wasn’t hard, but, could be expensive over several days. My only issue with reserving the place was a “late notification” to sign the rental agreement or else lose our reservation. Bryant notified me of the looming deadline and informed me that their emails get sent to Spam…that’s where I found it. Bryant needs to solve this issue in order to satisfy renters that their reservation is secure. Apparently paying a deposit isn’t enough to secure the reservation. Please fix this for future renters.

Good spot for family

The condo was large enough to accommodate 2 adults, 2 older teens, and a middle schooler. 3 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths with a sofa made it easy to spread out. The bathrooms were somewhat small. Almost everything needed updating (walls painted, carpet cleaning, etc) but that also meant we didn't have to be extremely careful with things either. I've stayed places where I felt all I did was clean to keep things spotless. Everything was clean when we arrived. Bed linens were clean and without stains. The bathrooms were clean. The kitchen was clean. Be sure to take paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, and any other things you might need. The 3 balconies were great for viewing the ocean. However, there was no direct beach access. You either had to walk on the street or open the garage door to get to the access. Beaches were not crowded which was a plus and why we love Carolina Beach. Easy walk to the boardwalk and any other shops/restaurants you may want to visit. Overall, good stay.

Great layout and location

First, I have a 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan and it fit exactly in the garage with my windows folded in and a couple inches to spare, so if you want to know if your vehicle will fit, look up the dimensions. No one would give me measurements so hopefully this will help future tenants. The location of this place was excellent and with three college age kids with us, having them on their own floor with own bathrooms was perfect. It was so nice having three balconies with views. Although some of the furniture and carpeting needed cleaning or replacement, this is a beach house and we were fine with it, we did not spend a lot of time there. We thought it was a great place and would definitely stay there again.

Great little place

Clean enough and perfect location. The decks are wonderful and the beds are great. Definitely needs updates and some TLC. The kitchen and full baths need to be gutted and totally redone. The couch sags. I also didn't understand why I had to stop the realty office to pick up check in materials. I'd definitely come back, though.

The master bathroom is tiny, with a very low toilet and small shower stall with a curtain. The lighting in this bathroom is terrible.The carpeting in the entire unit should be removed, as it is very stained, dirty and smells. The railings are disgusting to touch, sticky with grime build up, that I could not remove even with 409. The dryer is on its last legs, it screamed terribly on several occasions, which left us nervous to put clothes in it and walk away. Short and t shirts took 2 hours to dry.The furniture, as I said is old, dated and dirty, but adequate . The rattan dining room furniture needs a good scrubbing as the crevasse are full of dirt and grime. I don’t think the cleaners ever wipe down the baseboards or dining room chandler as they too had a lot of dust on them, throughout the entire place.The air vent door is also very dirty and had mold on them.The kitchen had more items than we expected (ie some basic spices, coffee filters, sugar salt pepper etc). the description gave the impression there were none, It is small, a “one butt” as we call it. However, it did lack some basic cooking utensils. (measuring cup, whisk,). The knives were all very dull. There were 2 sets of dishes and eating utensils, which we found odd. The ice maker in the freezer does not appear to be hooked up. The cabinets are the original, painted a lot.There were no instructions on how to operate the tv, there were 3 remotes. Like I said great location, easy beach access. In the past we have stayed at places with direct beach access (versus this one which is a public access), so this wasn’t bad at all.The place was adequate but for what it cost, we know we could have stayed at a more updated, modern place. We will not be returning to this unit, but we will to CB. We have come to CB every year for the past 8 years.

Not As Good As It Seems (Please Read Before Booking)

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I just want to forewarn future guests so that they do not experience the level of disappointment that my family and I experienced. The property is ocean front, but does not have a walkway or pathway to the beach. The only walkway is a Public Beach Access down the road. The beach was extremely overly crowded with lots of people within less than 6 inches of each other. The surrounding units were being “repaired” the entire time we were there. We were woken up very early every morning by the very loud sounds of power tools, hammering and music. The property is also extremely outdated. The carpets could use a good cleaning and the furniture could be updated. I must mention that Bryant Real Estate was absolutely amazing. Their staff were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend booking with them, just not this particular unit.

Needs major improvements

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The views from this unit are great, however the unit needs major upgrades. The carpet is very dirty. All furniture and appliances needs replaced as well. The bathrooms smell really bad (despite me cleaning them myself) so it’s best to keep the doors open for fresh air. The beds (ALL) are very hard and uncomfortable. I had an issue with the garage door however the maintenance department was there within an hour to fix it. I don’t recommend this unit if you have more than one vehicle. The garage is very small and full of toys and other things.

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I wish I would’ve searched reviews on Facebook before booking. DO NOT STAY WITH BRYANT REAL ESTATE RENTALS. I booked a vacation in Carolina beach at their Templeton location, ocean front. A note was attached to our check in guide stating the dishwasher was broke and a replacement would not arrive until after our stay. Upon arrival, the unit was rather dirty. The comforters and pillow shams were stained (I’m convinced they don’t wash the comforters or shames because they only ask you to strip the sheets when leaving), the couch and chairs were stained, and the fridge was extremely dirty (what looked like old spilt residue left for months). The bedroom suites do not have blackout curtains. One of the showers in one of the suites did not drain properly. I emailed them regarding the shower and dishwasher and a response was sent asking if we’d like the shower repaired and if so would we allow someone to fix it without us being present. I did not see the email sent that night and rather then waiting on my response, “mike” accessed the premise without our presence to fix the shower. While it was nice to have it fixed, our response and privacy was totally disregarded. Upon checking out, we checked under the beds to make sure we didn’t leave anything behind. That’s when we found poop stained children’s underwear under one of the beds. CLEARLY, they do not clean their rental spaces. I emailed them multiple times during my stay and even asked to speak with someone during checkout and the receptionist casually said someone would be in contact with me. No apologies, no “surprised” face when I showed pictures, nothing...We come to Caroline beach every year. We will stay somewhere else from here on out. We sucked it considering we drove 5 hours with a 3 month old and 3 year old. STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THEIR RENTALS
