About this property

1 block to the subway & Prospect Park - great area with fast access to Manhattan

At just one block from Prospect Park and the subway, this apartment offers the ideal location for experiencing real Brooklyn life and exploring all of New York City. Located on a pretty tree-lined block with interesting architecture, this is a spacious and comfortable 1 bedroom apartment. The Botanic Gardens and Brooklyn Museum are just a short walk away. Get the true Brooklyn vibe in this hip and historic neighborhood characteristic of the diversity that Brooklyn has to offer. A vibrant area (known as Prospect Lefferts Gardens) with restaurants, cafes, shopping and an array of markets and stores, you will find everything you need within a short walk of the apartment. Street parking is available, and a parking garage is nearby. Enjoy the great summer concerts on offer at Prospect Park, or take a pleasant walk through the park to reach Park Slope, Grand Army Plaza and the beautiful Brooklyn Library, or to discover nearby landmark areas such as Ditmas Park and Prospect Heights. Prospect Park is particularly well-suited for families with children - with playgrounds, the Brooklyn Zoo, the Carousel and the new 'Lakeside' skating area and children's water park. The subway provides quick and easy access to Manhattan and other parts of Brooklyn (Parkside or Prospect Park stops of the B/Q trains, Winthrop stop of the 2/5 trains). The Barclay's Center concert venue and stadium is also just a couple of subway stops from the apartment.

The apartment is cheerfully decorated and is a peaceful retreat from the bustle of big city life. It is newly furnished, freshly painted and is equipped with everything you could need to feel at home. It has beautiful hard-wood floors throughout and provides all the amenities (flat-screen HDTV, cable, wifi, air conditioning). The apartment comfortably accommodates 4 people, with a queen-size bed in the bedroom and a full-size pull-out sofa bed in the living room. Whip up a home-cooked meal in the fully-stocked and roomy kitchen (oven, range, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, pots, pans, plates, etc). Note that the apartment is located on the 2nd floor of a walk-up building (no elevator). Bedding, linens and towels are provided.

Brooklyn apartment review

Everything was great with my stay. The apartment was extraordinarily clean and uncluttered when we got there. The owner's instructions were excellent. There was enough space for me and my partner. Neighborhood was nice.

Very pleasant and clean

A pleasant oasis in a very old building, this apartment is extremely clean, well looked after and nicely decorated. The place is very quiet and we were very comfortable here after busy days exploring Prospect Part, Brooklyn Gardens and Museum and Park Slope. The Q train is 2 minutes walk and runs directly into Manhattan.

Super happy about the apartment

We were all very happy about the accommodation in Brooklyn, beautiful located in a big city, and beside the subway and short way to Manhattan. The Prospect park beside was a winner, but we did not have time to visit the Botanic garden (next time?). All the facilities in the apartment were great, nothing to complain about. And the communication with the owner was fast and correct. I would recommend to everyone.

Quiet flat in great area, quick access to Manhatan

Perfect apartment for our family of 3, as we enjoyed being in a genuine neighborhood yet having such quick access to all the sights with the metro so close at hand. The apartment was spotlessly clean and we found it quite comfortable, the bedroom was particularly nice and quiet and the kitchen had everything we needed though mostly we ate out. Lots of restaurants and supermarkets to choose from in the surrounding blocks, and spending time in Prospect Park with its amazing food market was a big highlight of our trip.

Mostly perfect

Very clean, nicely appointed, conveniently located near grocery, subway and Prospect Park. Heating control is a bit of a challenge, however with windows open in April, we found a comfortable temperature.

Good location for subway and getting around. Apartment very dated and dark.

Apartment very dated and dark but a good location. Apartment was booked for 4 people but 2 had to drop out late on, disappointed that Tina would not waver the additional person cost that had been added for 4 people staying. The apartment has no way of adjusting the heating so evening in the very cold outside weather it was very warm. Our sleep was very disturbed by music being played late into the night in other apartments and the bed was very creaky every slight movement in the bed would cause you to wake up. We had a lovely time in Brooklyn New York but very much doubt we would stay in these apartments again.

Great location by Prospect Park.

Took in the 100 street vendors that populate the Sunday Smorgousburg in the park. Great access to the Q and neighborhood amenities. Liliana met us at the apartment even though our flight was 4 hours late. Entrance isn’t anything to write home about but the apartment itself was nice and more than served our purposes especially given the reasonable price.

Fit our needs perfectly

We were very pleased with the location, cleanliness, size, and amenities. The bed was comfortable, the shower was great, and kitchen was well equipped. The coffee pot could use an upgrade but it definitely served its purpose for us each morning. We loved being very close to our son’s apartment and to the train station. In the neighborhood, we especially enjoyed Nagel’s Bagels, Sun brunch at Blessings Cafe, and a lovely Sunday afternoon walk in Prospect Park.

Great apartment - spacious, well-appointed and in a great location! Easy walk to Park and train.

We wanted a place close to our son’s apartment for our visit. This place was perfect. Large bedroom, well-stocked kitchen and two blocks from Prospect Park or the subway station. Great host - Thanks, Tina!

Nice place to stay

Tina was kind and everything worked as planned. The place is clean and cosy. The neighborhood is not as fancy as other close to it, but it is well connected to the subway and close to restaurants and shops and supermarkets. I recommend it!

A Pleasant Base in Brooklyn

Tina's apartment, only a short walk from Brooklyn's renowned Prospect Park, was an excellent spot from which to explore some of the major sights of the city and launch trips to New York City as well. Located in a vibrant, ethnically diverse neighborhood, the apartment offered all the essential amenities a traveler might need. While not luxurious, the place was clean, well lighted and furnished quite comfortably. We had the choice of preparing meals in the kitchen or visiting one of the neighborhood's many ethnic restaurants. The subway, less than a five-minute walk from the apartment, took us directly to Manhattan or to a different station where we could transfer to a train headed for other areas of Brooklyn. Especially pleasant was the new "Dumbo" area and its thrilling views of the Brooklyn Bridge; the Botanic Garden; Brooklyn Museum and Academy of Music. But there is much more to see, and we hope to return! If so, we will certainly try to book Tina's place again.

Warm & cozy flat in an ideal location

My boyfriend and I spent a romantic week celebrating the holidays in NYC and were really happy with our choice of this apartment. Even though it was so cold outside, inside was always nice and toasty! The bedroom was really comfortable and cozy, the living / dining room was well appointed and the kitchen roomy and with everything needed for cooking if one were so inclined. We didn't do much cooking though since we were so into the NYC restaurant scene, it's amazing all the different foods you can find there! The subway was just a minute away and in 20-35 minutes we reached all the places we wanted to see in Manhattan but also loved getting to experience Brooklyn with its more down to earth vibe. Will definitely stay here again on a future visit!

Comfortable, Clean and Convenient

I appreciated the 'vintage' style of the apartment. It was clean and quiet and we felt right at home. The location worked well as it was close to my daughters' apartment and the Parkside subway station from which we could take the Q train into Manhattan. Also, restaurants, grocery stores, and a laundromat are close by. (I didn't have to use the laundromat though). Prospect Park is just down the street and offered a great running course, and the Brooklyn Botanical Garden is a gem. It was easy to communicate with Sonia, and Liliana met us at the apartment even when our flight was delayed and we arrived 3 or 4 hours later than planned. I would definitely consider staying here again.

Clean, quiet, close...

In 35 minutes we could be in Central Park, or in 5 minutes have the best jerk chicken in Brooklyn. Neighbors were welcoming, Prospect Park and all its delights were nearby and we always got a good night's sleep in Sonia's comfortable and clean apartment. Parkside subway stop provided easy access to NYC; Flatbush Avenue was easily navigable for groceries and carryout; and, it was great to have a spacious kitchen to cook in. Looking forward to ur next stay here.

Great place to stay

The apartment was lovely, safe, well-stocked and the building quiet. It's in the heart of Caribbean Brooklyn and you can easily walk to markets, restaurants, etc. the closest subway stop, Q, takes you to both east side and west side transfer points which is important travelling back and forth between Brooklyn and Manhattan. Sonia was the height of professionalism -- trustworthy, prompt, accessible. All arrangements were easy to make with her. The key handoff was simple, the wifi was great. I would book here again and recommend to others.

Excellent Location!

We loved staying in this apartment! My son lives on Caton Ave, a short walk away. The Q subway stop was close by ... and we used the Q a lot! Prospect Park is only steps farther away than the Q stop. Enjoyed the diverse neighborhood ... a bit "gritty" but we always felt safe. My partner is vegetarian and we really enjoyed the nearby Zen Vegetarian café. The description of the apartment is accurate. We were there the week of Thanksgiving and were easily able to find what we needed in the kitchen supplies and at the nearby grocery store. (We prepared a couple of side items for the T-Day meal at my son's.) The queen bed was very comfortable (thankfully ... we were there 8 nights!) and the bed was big enough for my 6'4" partner. We were never awakened in the night by loud neighbors. A few days there was construction work in neighboring apartments, but we were mostly away during the day and the nights were always quiet. The apartment was clean and all the furnishings were in good shape. There was plenty of room and we enjoyed making the apartment our "home" while visiting Brooklyn. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

Loved this comfortable Prospect Park apartment

The second floor apartment was clean and roomy equipped with all items as advertised. Groceries and the subway stop were just a half block away. The express train to Manhattan and other parts of Brooklyn made our stay a rich and easy one. I would stay again with up to four people. Parking required moving the car on the weekend for no tickets. Read the signs. Sonia and Freida were easy to contact by phone and understood our two hour delay for turning over the keys. Very accommodating.

Clean apartment

Sonia was very easy to communicate with and accommodating to our late arrival. The apartment was very clean and well stocked in kitchen utensils and anything needed for our stay. The location was a block away from the Q train station with easy access to other parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan. The only local spot we tried was the Dunkin Donuts. In Bryant Park we enjoyed the roller skating rink & splash playground.

Comfortable property well located for subway

A clean and comfortable property with good facilities, including free wi-fi. Sonia was a helpful and welcoming host, even advising on transfers from the airport. The property is well located for the subway and is near to Prospect Park. I had a bike with me and I was able to store it in the apartment.

Fantastic stay in New York

We had 6 nights at Sonia's flat and we loved it! The apartment is comfortable, spacious, very clean and exactly like the pictures - well equipped - everything one could hope for in a home away from home. We enjoyed "coming home" to Sonia's apartment after a long day of sight seeing. The location was perfect with excellent public transportation and shops for all the daily necessities nearby, as well as the wonderful Prospect Park! We felt really welcomed by Sonia who was answering all the questions we had and gave us great tips for discovering Brooklyn. If we will come back to New York, we will definitively stay again in Sonia's apartment.

The worst stay ever and a real waste of money!!!

I am sorry to say that this apartment almost ruined my vacation to NYC. Here are a few examples why: The neighborhood felt anything but safe to walk outside late at night. When we finally got the the building, some really weird people who were defiantly not neighbors followed us into the building screaming almost all night long. The floor is made of some kind of wood which makes every move from the upper floor sound like an earthquake, adding the fact the neighbors are extremely noisy means no sleep at all! The sofa in the living room was extremely old and uncomfortable and the shade in the bedroom was virtually transparent so if you're bothered by the sun, be prepared to wake up very early in the morning! Instead of staying for 8 days as planed we decided to leave the apartment the next morning. When I sent an email describing the issues and our decision to the apartment manager (Sonya) there was no reply or any attempt to try to fix the issues. In a later conversation, Sonya described these issues as "culture shock", and of course refused any kind of refund of compensation. I strongly believe that the issues with this apartment are not culture shock, it's just a very bad rental with a price tag of a good one. The only good thing I can say about this place is that the cleaning lady (Frida) was very nice, but if I had any idea of these issues I would have chosen differently, instead of wasting my time and money on this rental! Be advised!

Nice place to stay

The property is all I’ve expected. Although I was alone, I am sure it would be comfy for 2 people or acceptable for 4. Two things I found annoying were refrigerator which I believe was preparing for a launch and lack of kettle. Manager and staff were informative and keen to help. The neighbourhood wasnt really clean but I did fell safe. Connection is good - 30 min with the Tube and you are in Manhattan.
