About this property
Sweet Sierra Mountain Cabin
About this space
This mountain, dog friendly cabin is nestled on the edge of Blue Canyon and sits on 10.5 beautiful forested acres next to Tahoe National Forest at 4900' elevation: Kayaking, world class skiing, snow play, hiking, mountain biking, Gold Rush era towns, and Lake Tahoe lie within a 10-45 minute drive. Fully equipped gourmet kitchen. Discounted for guests: Kayak High Sierra Lake.
The space
You will be staying in a cabin which was handcrafted by my husband and me. The kitchen is designed and outfitted with the gourmet in mind. The cabin contains: Keurig Coffee Maker (and pods), toaster oven, toaster, small food processor, crock pot, blender, pots and pans, pizza stone, baking gear, rolling pin etc. If you need that a specific kitchen gadget, it is likely that we have it in the main home kitchen. Just ask.
The bedroom has a queen size bed and a loft with an additional queen futon with thick mattress top that will sleep two adults. Flooring is tile and hardwood. There is a large walk-in shower and enough storage to make your extended stay feel like home.
There is a washer and dryer with soap for the post mountain-bike-adventure laundry.
In the summertime, you can open every window and door to let the cool fresh mountain air pour in (and the birds will sing you awake in the morning.) In winter, the cabin is heated by a wood burning stove with a gas wall heater for back up.
Please note: The pet guest fee is $30 and will be requested . The request will appear in your notifications. This must be paid before arrival. NO CATS please (allergy issues).
Guest access
You will have access to the entire cottage. The keypad code for your visit will be texted to you a few days before your arrival.
Other things to note
There is internet access for email and web browsing via a JetPak. Streaming is available using your phone as a hotspot. You can plug your phone into the speaker system to play your personal playlists on your phone.
On Rental Experiences: "Kayak High Sierra Lake" -- discounted for our guests. We have capacity for 4 adults and 2 children. If you book in advance, we'll hold the outing just for you and your family.
Please note: Dogs are welcome but NO CATS please (allergy issues). The pet guest fee is $30 and will be requested through the Rental resolution center. THIS MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO ARRIVAL.

As hosts, we strive to provide an unforgettable experience for every guest. We enjoy getting to know our visitors, hearing their stories, and sharing our own. Whether you're seeking solitude or companionship, we're here to ensure your stay is tailored to your preferences.
This cabin holds a special place in our hearts. We began our journey in our 30s, scraping together a deposit for bare land and building the cabin ourselves while living in a trailer. With a shared vision of creating a unique and comfortable space, we worked together to bring our dream to life. At age 11 our son even learned to operate the backhoe and Janine tackled the plumbing!
Over the years, we've poured our hearts into this cabin, creating a space that reflects our love for nature, family, and hospitality. We invite you to experience the magic of this mountain haven to create lasting memories that will stay with you long after you leave.
