Last minute change of plans.

We didn't stay at the original property chosen because a day before we left for the property, we received a call from the management company. The management company called and confronted us with a water situation in our original choice property, making it unlivable until it was repaired.

Biggest mistake!

The cabin wasn't very clean. My son wasn't able to sleep upstairs because it kept "raining ladybugs" on him. There was no insulation in the cabin. It was cold and you could hear everything going on inside and out. The "free" tickets were never provided. Multiple emails were not responded to until I told them I was leaving a bad review. The cabin was bad enough, we left a day early. This cabin was even more expensive than others I have rented in the area. Those are just the highlights. I could give so many more details, I could go on all night!

We Wanted To Love It

We stay in short term rentals multiple times a year with no complaints so I would think my expectations are reasonable, however, Hunter's Hideaway unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired. While we had a safe place to sleep during our stay, the biggest issue I have is that this cabin was listed as secluded. Between the verbiage in the listing and the images of the cabin, it gives the impression that there are no close neighbors. The two cabins immediately next door prove that this is incredibly inaccurate. We would not have booked this if the listing was truthful. While the cabin was easy to access, reasonably clean and had great water pressure with plenty of hot water, there were other concerns about the cabin: poison ivy growing on the deck immediately next to the front door, no door to the master bath, no smoke detector in the main area of the cabin, a large amount of mouse droppings around hot tub, rotted kitchen cabinet from past water damage, half broken shelf in master bedroom, master bed wasn’t very stable, and the master shower is very difficult to get in and out of. And a tip envelope for the cleaning staff even though we paid the cleaning fee? No thanks - I can't say we will ever rent from Bear Tootin Cabins again.

Beautiful view of the Smokies

We stayed here for Bronco Super Celebration and it was an awesome time. Great view, quiet area and even saw three bears roaming around. We will definitely be back!
