this property can sleep up to 4. 100 acres to explore + hundred more of public land. This is located near miles of trails for -road vehicle adventure and Hunting 8 miles from Baldwin where you can enjoy Canoeing. Kayaking, fishing, and golfing.

Inside great outside not too good

This was our second stay. We love the location and the house. We especially love the enclosed huge deck that is so nice for our dog. The house suits our needs perfectly. Our disappointment came with the state of the yard. It looks like it hasn’t been mowed in weeks, with the grass well over a foot tall. Last visit we loved taking our dog down to the river and sitting at the fire pit. This time we killed multiple ticks just sitting on the deck. We didn’t dare risk walking through the tall grass to the river for fear of ticks on ourselves and the dog. I’m really hoping this is just a bump in the road of changing management, as we would like to continue coming every year. We plan to come back, but with our fingers crossed regarding the yard. Otherwise we love it here!

Nice setting

The house was clean. Lovely deck out back and stocked sufficiently. Disappointed in the sleeping areas as I would hesitate to call one area a bedroom. There are no doors on the sleeping areas and you walk through one area to get to the other. Also, the furnace is quite loud and close to your head in the one room for sleeping. The home is not handicap accessible, there is a very large step up from the living room to the kitchen and 2 steps down into the back sleeping area, having knee replacements this made navigating the home difficult. I would also suggest some hooks be added in the bathroom to hang towels on after showering. The location for us was great, we rode ATV's on the dirt roads to the Tin cup trail and out to dinner in Chase. Overall it suited our needs, however sorry to say we would not stay again due to the sleeping arrangement, the loud furnace, and the steps.

New ownership, now a different experience :-(

We stayed in 2023 and loved it because it is so remote, so we booked two more trips for 2024 and intended to book an additional two this year. FYI: Since last year, it is now under a corporate umbrella, which can be fine - but wasn't I loathe giving bad reviews and rarely do. But, I did not find interactions with the new owner to be forthright and I kept getting conflicting answers to justify the shutting off/cancelling of the satellite for the TV. I got the vibe of an inexperienced younger 'predestined' new owner willing to pinch pennies at the expense of the guest experience. For instance, the Smart TV had been turned off - even though it was listed when we booked (and still is). It's not a fun time when you're in the middle of nowhere with zero reception, no TV, and it rains and storms the entire time. We often stay at properties with no TV but want to know in advance so we can bring reading material. Various defenses were offered, but there really is no excuse for a false listing. Also, and credit that they may not know because I didn't mention it, there's a large dead tree that is likely going to hit the bedroom areas of the house at some point if not removed. The wind was blowing hard and the tree made me sleep on the sofa that night. We cancelled the next trip and will not return unless it goes under different ownership, which is sad because it is a nice property.

Great place

Very happy with our weekend. The cabin is very nice and clean, along with the property. Beautiful setting on the middle branch of the Pere Marquette River. We were lucky enough to see a few Salmon running up stream. Highly recommend!

Relaxing Getaway

This is just what my husband and I needed— a quiet and relaxing weekend getaway to reset! The deck was the best part of the property and was where we spent most of our time. We had the most perfect weather so it was the best setting to enjoy the tranquility and nature surrounding us. Highly recommend, especially if you have a hard time unplugging as the lack of cell reception forces your hand like it did mine.

Fantastic place to relax and enjoy the outdoors!

We enjoyed the beautiful up to date cabin and the large property on the river! The large fenced and gated deck was great to relax on. We could let our dogs explore the deck and relax without supervision. The view of the creek and river with the adjoining woods was breathtaking! All the amenities, i.e., the leather couch, recliners, and bed were a notch above what we would normally expect in a cabin rental. Reed City is 15 minutes away and has Ebels General Store for groceries, with a world-class meat market. Thanks, Angie and Shirley for a great time.

Perfectly peaceful

This listing is exactly as described. The house is sparkling clean and was well equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. From the luggage stands to the fire starters for the fireplace, they thought of everything. The property is beautiful and our dogs enjoyed the water along the property. The fire pit was perfect and a delight at the end of the day. Waking up with a cup of coffee on the deck listening to the birds sing was heavenly. We truly loved spending our anniversary weekend here. The location is great for going to Manistee, Ludington and the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. We did them all in a 3 day weekend. This was really a great spot.

Never a disappointment!

This was our fourth stay at the Yoga Bear Outpost. Always so nice to arrive to such an immaculate cabin with all the amenities you could ask for. The location is beautiful with the Pere Marquette river running through it. A beautiful deck with furniture and a great fire pit! It's so very nice to be able to bring our small dog with us and just enjoy the serenity of the great northern woods. Angie is always a pleasure to work with and takes care of any needs. As always, I highly recommend this northern getaway to anyone looking for peace and quiet in a charming setting.

Such an adorable little clean cabin! It had everything we needed. We loved sitting outside by stream and watching the salmon swim by as well as enjoying the fire pits. The back deck was spacious as well. I would definitely recommend.

Perfect trip away

Lovely getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely home in the woods. It was so clean and comfortable! Angie (and her mom) were very kind to me, as I mistakenly left an item at the cabin that was special to me, and they made sure I got it back. Quiet Cabin In The Woods

The cabin is a great place to stay to get away from the daily grind. Cabin is clean and well stocked with what you would expect for a rental. Gated deck is great when traveling with dogs. Can have them outside with you and not worry about them running off. Planning on visiting in the future.
