Highly recommended

It was a very comfortable cabin. Well managed and full of entertainment. We especially had fun on the hot tub and it was a good experience in this cold weather. Although we only stayed for one night, we would have loved to stay more. Highly recommended for winter vacation.

Nice and cozy

Property was great and just as described. My family enjoyed the open layout and the jacuzzi most of all. The cabin was a little further from the village than im used to, but that wasn't such a big deal. Check in was easy and the staff was very friendly. P.S. The missing puzzle pieces drove us crazy

Great log cabin

This canin is the picturesque ideal of what you are looking for when you stay in big bear. The location is superb, walking distance to lake and close to the village and slopes. Keep in mind that this is owned by a management company and don’t supply shampoo, conditioner or any condiments of any kind. Make sure to read the description carefully. Otherwise it was fabulous! Loved the fireplace and the jacuzzi!

Cute Place

The property was nice. A little normal wear and tear but overall in good condition. The location was great too. And the management company was friendly and helpful. Only things that kept it from five stars was it would be nice if there was a door code or lock box so you don't have to go to the office to check in. Also, the beds were a little uncomfortable. One was too firm for us and you could feel the springs on the other. Other than that, it was a cute place.

Big Bear Beat The Heat

While Phoenix hit triple digits we escaped the heat in Big Bear Lake. We watched temps drop 30 degrees as we made the climb up the switch backs to Big Bear Lake. Check-in was quick and easy. The cabin is in a neighborhood of rentals and locals. Cabin is located about a mile or so from the main village. Walking or biking to local markets or restaurants is possible. The house is perfect for small family or two couples. The amenities are a little light. Bring your own spices, coffee, and anything specific you require as only the basic kitchen items are provided. Hot tub on the front deck was a great way to relax in the evening. Great get-away if your expectations are a basic cabin at a reasonable price.

Good, quiet location, comfy cabin

The cabin was as advertised; a good location and quiet! Everything worked in the cabin and the gas heating system was a plus because it warmed up the place quickly. We did not get to use the hot tub because it was so cold nor did we use the fireplace because we didn't have wood. NOTE: If you want to use the fireplace, make sure to bring some firewood because NONE is provided. The mattresses in the bedrooms could use replacing in the near future (or at least a good matress topper) and a few spots (door frames, bathrooms) could use some touch-up painting. But otherwise, this is a beautifully designed and kept cabin that gave us a restful two days in the mountains!

Cute and quaint with great location

Our stay was great and made the best of it, we’re adventurous so didn’t spend much time other than evenings so the jacuzzi was a bonus !!! Only downside was no outdoor table and chairs to eat dinner outside , only 2 old Adirondack chairs that need work, it could use new mattresses (old) and new rugs (very dirty) The bunk bed is def made for little ones only Other than that the check in and checkout process were seamless Thanks

Cozy and comfortable

We had a very good experience at the cottage. The whirlpool was amazing and it was in a very quiet area. There was a bit of litter outside from previous tenants and some things were very outdated but overall it was a very nice stay.

Bring your own supplies!

While the cabin itself was clean and cozy, it was pretty shocking how poorly this cabin was stocked. There was 1 single trash bag for the kitchen, no extras. There was no plastic wrap, foil, zip lock bags or anything for food storage. We were forced to go out and buy our own. There were very limited pots, pans, and baking sheets as well. Don’t forget to bring your own cooking oils, seasonings, condiments, etc. Of the many cabins and I have rented over the years this one was by far the most disappointing in kitchen supplies. They did provide enough toilet paper, towels and hotel style body wash, shampoo & conditioner. Make sure to bring your own towels for the lake. Yes a washer and dryer is in the home but bring your own laundry products as well. Don’t plan on enjoying outdoor patio or dining as there really is no patio area to use. Finally, there is no lake access from this location. All of the lake access in this neighborhood is through private property which is very deceiving.

Terrible management and no attention to detail in the unit

The property gets two stars, their management company (Big Bear Vacations) gets one. It was largely due to timing I'm sure (check in on 1/2/19) but after a long drive up and dealing with insane crowds at Snow Summit with two small kids, we had to wait another hour plus at check in, only to be told the property wouldn't be ready for ANOTHER hour (this was at 530 when check in was supposed to be 4). A dinner voucher and eventual partial refund did not compensate for a very frustrating one of two nights. The property itself appears to be owned by the management company and offered no attention to detail or nice touches - a tiny dish soap bottle (no sponge), a tiny amount of clothes detergent (maybe two loads worth), no paper towels/condiments/detergent for the dish washer/not enough towels/springy master bed. The master bedroom seemed to be about 10 degrees warmer than the rest of the house until we closed the vents in there as best we could for the second night. The unit really did not have the bare necessities to do anything in the kitchen. We did enjoy the location and hot tub. If we could go again we'd pay more for a better place (though this was not an inexpensive stay when you factor in the service charges, cleaning etc), not book a BBV property, and time our vacation for midweek nowhere near a holiday.

Wonderful weekend getaway!

Forest Treehouse is the perfect weekend getaway if you are looking for a place that is welcoming, homey, and centrally located to the city of Big Bear. With the open layout of the kitchen and living room area it encourages more group-like atmospheres for cooking, playing cards at the dining room table, or sitting in front of the fireplace. I would recommend this cabin for anyone wishing to visit Big Bear!

Good location, okay for price

The location was good and the size of the cabin was good. Overall it was what I expected, but there were little things that made the place feel like it could use some TLC. In the bunk bed room the closet door was off of its hinges and leaned against the closet. The closet door looked like it might have been kicked a few times. In the bathroom, one of the towel hooks was ripped out so there was an open hole in the wall. Just depends on your expectations and what you hope to use the cabin for.

Nice house

It is a nice house, the only thing what I did not like is the TV's are too old and you can not connect your devices to enjoy your own favorite programs, it will be perfect if the house has smart TVs .

Will definitely come back!

This cabin was perfect for my family and the location was awesome. We walked to the lake which is just let a few blocks away, and found some small hills to ride down in the sled we brought. We had more fun outside the cabin than we did on the mountain trying to teach the kids to ski/snowboard. The jacuzzi was a hit as well, and not too much chlorine like in other reviews. It is stocked with many children games too! I would recommend bringing dish soap, laundry soap, dishwasher soap, paper towels, and trash bags. Oh.... The bbq tools are above the washer and dryer in the closet, we found them after me bbq'ed. Hope you have as much fun as we did! It's a great place!
