I've always wanted a peaceful retreat with a beautiful view to get away, recharge and inspire creativity. I found and renovated this 50yr old log house on 3 acres, decorated with modern rustic warmth. Light a fire, watch the sunset, walk to the little waterfall, hike the Catskill Scenic Trail, 8 bookstores in Hobart. Restaurants in Stamford, Delhi, Margaretville, Andes, farm stands, 3 golf courses, antiquing in Oneonta. Ski Plattekill 25min, Belleayre 35min, Hunter 45min! Welcome to Dezi's Retreat!

About the host
Hosted by Jack Morer

I am a professional musician based in NYC. I've always wanted a home like this to unwind and inspire creativity. My girlfriend, TaraMarie, and I love hiking the local trails and woods with Dezi and taking in all the beauty and peacefulness of this special part of NY State.
Why they chose this property
For me, the most amazing thing is the breathtaking view of the mountains. There's nothing better than lighting a fire in the fire pit, opening a bottle of wine and watching the sunset paint the hills, and the sunrises over the mountains are really incredible as well. Hobart and the bookshops are a gem, there are good restaurants within a close drive and plenty of activities such as skiing, golfing, and hiking. There is also a robust creative community so there are always concerts and art shows and theater to experience. The farmers have amazing fresh food in season and there are trift shops for hidden gems and antiquing.
What makes this property unique
With the help of my very creative friends and girlfriend I've furnished the house with a uniquely warm and modern rustic vibe. It's really cozy and special. Along with the house and mountain view there's a well marked trail out back of the house that winds down to a perfect little stream and a 6-foot waterfall - a great place to sit and meditate.
