PET-FRIENDLY - Wonderfully Situated. A Truly Beautiful Setting.

*** We are taking the recommended steps as presented by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for cleaning, disinfecting and preparing our home for your arrival. We are following the protocols laid out by the CDC and using the EPA-approved disinfectants for Hard (non-porous) Surfaces, Soft (Porous) Surfaces and Electronics. We are disinfecting all doorknobs, faucets, remote controls, cabinets, dressers, chairs, tables and we also put disinfectant in the water for cleaning the floors. We are washing linens, towels, bed sheets, etc. are washed with hot water and we are also stocking our home with essential disinfectants and supplies to help you follow the CDC’s guidelines. We look forward to welcoming you to our home and hosting your stay. ***

*Pet fee is $100 per dog.*

This house is just steps to mill creek and offers a great private yard with an extensive wall of boulders and a waterfall into a fishpond. There is a new in ground pool.
The spacious house is ideal for 10 people. There are 4 bedrooms. Each bedroom has a Queen but in the 4th bedroom besides the Queen you will also find two twins. There are two full baths.
The kitchen/dining room area is open with large windows overlooking the yard and waterfall.
The house has a dishwasher, washer and dryer, cable TV, internet, flat screened TV. All the bed linens are provided but we do ask our guests to bring their own towels, paper products and soaps.
All outdoor activities such as fishing, swimming in lakes, hiking, water rafting in the Hudson River, horseback riding are just minutes from us.
There are 5 cabins on the property that share the in ground pool but they are further removed from the setting of this house. In the Summer months of July and August we do have a 3 night minimum. Great for large groups such as family reunions.
We never ask you to transfer money to any bank account. we are set up with a secure credit card system. Also we are set up to receive payments through PayPal and through Homeaway.

Skiing

Good place to stay for skiing. Extremely clean, but a little musty, due to the water quality in the area. Nothing can be done about it, and the convenience and care from the owner make up for it.

Plenty of room

Plenty of room for everyone in our family of 6 plus 2 bonus guests that showed up for a family reunion. The host welcome is wonderful and so are all the plants and the pool. The pool is shared with the other cabins, but we did not mind.

Great location

The house is located at great location. The property was as described, very nice and cozy. I give only 4 stars coz the beds were old and the couch there were to be bed was uncomfortable. And the pool area was so nice but the pool is not heated. Otherwise it’s awesome. The property manager was very frank and ready to help any time.

Charming & loved it!!

Our family had a wonderful time here!! After going on a little adventure for the day in the area we always were excited to go back to the house and have fun! It was perfect for our big family from 4 years old thru adult. We loved the property, fire pit and pool. The house was perfect. The kitchen is laid out so you feel like you are always interacting and apart of the family memory making. The rooms were always comfortable & clean. Sick was a wonderful caretaker. Very friendly and sweet. He always checked in on us to make sure we were all set with everything. Very welcoming & lovely. Loved it!

Great location and cozy house

The property was as described- very nice and cozy house. Location was great - close to mountain, hiking, horseback riding and Lake George. House was warm and had everything needed for Thanksgiving stay. Living area was big enough for 3 families with kids. I gave only 4 starts for cleanliness since the bedrooms needed more cleaning. Other than that it was a very nice stay.

Great Place

This place was perfect for our yearly family getaway. We were a group of 6 adults and 3 children, the rooms were perfect and the rest of the house was relaxing and well decorated. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots/pans, silverware and the such. The outside area was great, we had the fire pit, grilling/eating area to our self. Sitting by the fire and hearing the beautiful waterfall was so relaxing. Our welcome was great, Dick the care taker was so welcoming and checked on us mid weekend to make sure we had everything we needed. Pool area was shared but created a friendly atmosphere amongst all guests. I would definitely stay here again. Janet

Beautiful location

This home is set in a beautiful location. The pool is very nice and the home is not bad but out of date. The home was listed as having a hot tub which it does not and is not suitable for 14 people. We had 5 children and the couches that were to be beds were uncomfortable and 1 was damaged. The WiFI is spotty and service was very poor but your in the Mountains so that is to be expected. The kitchen has every thing you will need as far as pans, pots cutlery and dishes. There is plenty of seating in the dining are but not for leisure. Outside the fire pit is very nice. Plenty of seats and a nice picnic bench. The pond/waterfall is very relaxing. Dick Doux the caretaker while very helpful and quick to respond to any issues we had resides on the lower level of the home which we were not informed of previously. He was very friendly but we would have preferred a little more privacy. The location isn't too far out of Lake George, about 30 minutes, there is a few small stores to pick up some groceries a short drive from the home. While there were a few issues that we had it was overall a nice place to stay.

Gore Mountain Ski Trip

We are a family of seven and the home was more than accommodating enough for our large family. We had a fantastic time at the Sparrow's Nest and were thankful for Dick's gracious assistance. The setting is stunning and the home is extremely convenient to Gore Mountain if you are there to ski. We would absolutely stay again!

WALKED INTO A VERY SECLUDED CABIN STYLE HOME

ARRIVED THERE WITH MY FAMILY. WE HOSTED A FAMILY REUNION FOR 4 DAYS AT THE HOUSE AND CABIN. THE OWNER OF THE HOME ALONG WITH DICK DOUX (PROPERTY MANAGER) WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO MAKE OUR STAY COMFORTABLE AND A GREAT TIME. EVERYTHING IN THE HOME IS INCLUDED ALONG WITH 2 GRILLS IN THE HOME AND 1 GRILL PER CABIN. THE KIDS LOVED THE POOL AND SPACE THEY HAD TO RUN AROUND AND JUST DO THINGS OUTDOORS. MAKE SURE YOU PACK ENOUGH THINGS BECAUSE THE NEAREST STORE IS ABOUT 20 MIN. DRIVE. IT FELT LIKE WE WERE HOME AND FELT SO COMFORTABLE IN THE HOME WE DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE. SO MUCH SPACE, SO MANY CABINS AVAILABLE FOR LARGE FAMILIES. COULDN'T ASK FOR A BETTER GET AWAY FOR KIDS AND ADULTS. SO MANY THINGS TO DO WITHIN A 30 MIN DRIVE EACH WAY.

Great out-of-the-way location; quality did not meet expectations

This cabin is in a nice out-of-the-way location in the southern Adirondacks. If you want peace, quiet, and isolation, you'll find it. If you want nice hiking trails within a 10-30 minute drive, you'll find them. (I particularly recommend Auger Falls for a short hike to amazing scenery.) If you're looking for shops and nightlife, this is the *wrong place*. Likewise if you like to pop out to buy bread and milk before breakfast, you'll be out of luck. However, for the price we paid, I would have expected minor amenities like toilet paper, towels, dish soap, etc. These little things are *not* provided and you have to bring your own. Considering that you'll have to stop for groceries on the way anyways this is not a huge deal, but it is an unnecessary annoyance.

Peaceful setting

Perfect location - close enough to the action, but far away enough to be a true escape. Beautiful property, great salt water pool, and very comfortable home. Exactly as pictured. Kitchen has everything needed for cooking and family meals. The firepit is a great place to gather, and the pond, waterfall, and plantings are beautiful . Property Manager, Dick was the best host and so very accommodating. Our family of 11 had plenty of room and would highly recommend this rental for a great family vacation.

Wonderful and Exciting

I went up there for 3 days with a group of friends and there was so much to do! It was steps away from a river, which we were able to jump in and swim through. It's only 20 minutes away from Lake George. It's very secluded and we had no problems. The owner and property manager are both very accommodating and we all had a great time. Whether you're coming for a family vacation or a trip with some friends, there's always something to do. Great review overall!

Great House and Location for Outdoor Fun

I came with a houseful for a Whitewater Rafting trip for the weekend. It was perfect it accomodated 12 perfectly fine for the weekend we had space in the living room and was fine for sleeping arrangements. The Wifi was great saved us for not having any service at all but it made for a nice weekend. I would highly suggest this house to any group going to the area , it is on a dirt road off the beaton path and is a great rental. Would stay here again for a ski trip or weekend again in a heartbeat!

Great house. Great location.

This is our second time staying at this house and we love it! Makes for a perfect winter getaway with a clean, cozy house, great amenities, plenty of space, and it's a great location from Gore. We found everything to be as stated in the rental listing. Owner was flexible and helpful with making the arrangements and his associate was welcoming upon arrival. We definitely hope to return!

I have always loved the Great outdoors and my first drive to the Adirondacks and especially the Lake George area made me want to be more than an occasional visitor here.

Why they chose this property

This property is simply beautiful. The setting is ideal and I immediately felt at home when the realtor pulled into the driveway.
A walk on Washer Hill Rd next to this house which is adjacent to Mill Creek is just so peaceful and idyllic...I knew I would be here for a long time. The sound of the water is so relaxing. Then the trees surrounding the borders of this property are so high and smell so good. Some trees are over 500 years old. The gentle slopes of the property are just so visually pleasing.

What makes this property unique

Benefits include, senses reawakened, a feeling of relaxation which makes many people feel that although they came up to do all sorts of outdoor activities, just hanging around the property and walking to go fishing in the Mill Creek or just wading in the water or making a bonfire is most of the time satisfying in itself.
