Annual Christmas away- Year 1
I would rate our stay as top notch. The home was in a convenient place in town.Once we entered the home with an easy to understand key pad the home was clean and exactly as pictured and described online. We did run into a small issue that as soon as the owner of the home was contacted, he handled with care and concern! The ease and comfort of the house absolutely added to our overall experience and we were thrilled to have stayed! We had a great time.

Good location and affordable
We had a group of 10. We arrived early and were able to check in and hit the trails so that was a plus. The house is convenient to trails and dining. The largest bedroom gets freezing cold at night along with both the bathrooms. The only issue we ran into was not having enough sheets/linens and towels. Some of our group slept on the pull out couch and had to buy sheets for it before the host provided a solution. He did reach out and attempt to help us get the issue resolved. Not enough plates for a large group, not enough forks for a large group. Overall, it was a good stay. If you have a large group, bring chairs.

Great location
Central to the trails, nice bathrooms and bedrooms. Parking wasn’t too bad but on the main strip so just know you’re parking around back. We got there when the hurricane came through but still had a great time

Great getaway.
The lodge was very clean. Owner was great and we have no complaints about the lodge. Only thing was the police told us we couldn’t park our side by sides out front even though they were in parking spaces.

About the host

Hello there! I"m John. My good friend Travis and I bought Castle Rock Lodge from two awesome people in July, 2023. When we visited the site in April, 2023, we knew it was something special! That's when we knew we just had to have it, and continue the tradition and fun of Castle Rock Lodge, as the previous owners were setting up to retire. Castle Rock Lodge has such personality, and it's hard to let boredom set in when you are there. As for us, we love trail riding in our side by sides. West Virginia is one of the most beautiful places on earth! Travis and I love to ride the trails and get outdoors, get muddy, smell the exhausts, and make memories. Becoming a host of this property has been challenging yet so fulfilling! I really enjoy striving to make sure I do everything I can to make the most enjoyable, relaxing, and accommodating stay possible for my guests! We look forward to seeing you soon!
