Bed bugs
Arrived to the home after approximately 12 hours of driving. Checked the home before bringing luggage in and found bed bugs as well as an obviously poorly cleaned home. Found bed bugs in one bed and had everyone get out so we wouldn’t carry them on us. The pool water was dirty(couldn’t see to the bottom) clumps of hair all over the edges of every room, the grill was unusable as it was rusted out, the door downstairs was unlocked because it was broken when we arrived, and my kids even found empty chip bags and chips all over the loft. Called the owner first, left him a message. Didn’t hear back from him and didn’t know what to do, so called VRBO, and was on the phone with them for about 3 hours sitting outside the rental.Sent VRBO the pictures of the filth and bed bugs, and finally found another rental starting the next day. VRBO booked us a hotel for the night because of the pictures I sent them and said I would be fully refunded.(they also had no luck reaching the owner). Exhausted my family and I arrived at our hotel for the night around 9 pm. We hadn’t even eaten yet, and about that time the owner of the home finally called me back- at this point we had already booked and paid for another rental for the week and were exhausted from travel all day. I have rented for years from VRBO and had only good things to say about the places we visited, but I can safely say, I will never use this company again. I have yet to be refunded… do not book with this scam home.
