We stayed in the cottage during the third weekend of October, yet the foliage was still beautiful. We were located just a few minutes away from Crystal Lake State Park, Lake Willoughby, and wonderful local restaurants like Roberto's Pizza and Barton Baking. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed, including heating and a nice fireplace. Highly recommend!
My friends and I were looking for an affordable getaway and we found it! A lovely little cottage and the owner was very nice! The space was clean and comfortabe. Would definitely stay here again!

A very comfortable and quiet place to stay. The host is great and the house is adorable. We enjoyed our time here very much.

This was a perfect little house for our short stay in Glover, VT. It was attractive and well furnished and equipped for a short or long stay. My better half said ,about the house "I could live here".
It's in a small town residential neighborhood. This is rural Vermont, where you make your own entertainment.
The property was ideal for our stay in the North East Kingdom. It is a very clean, comfortable, well equipped, newly renovated, nicely furnished cottage. The beds are comfortable. It is very close to Crystal Lake - about a mile away - which has a sandy beach, boats for rent and is very scenic. We came to the North East Kingdom to hike and we hiked Pisgah, Wheeler and Hor Mountains and also did a very pleasant hike in Perry Holbrook State Park. They are all within a short drive to the cottage. We also visited The Old Stone House Museum in Brownington and the Bread and Puppet Museum in Glover and the Sweet Scoops ice cream about half a mile north of Barton is not to be missed. The owners of the property couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating - supplying air conditioning units for the 2 upstairs bedrooms when the temperature and humidity started to climb. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is because I reserve 5 stars for the likes of "Buckingham Palace". Just to note that the bathroom is on the ground floor. Highly recommended.
Everything about this home was perfect from the moment we arrived. The porch is so welcoming but it is nothing compared to the inside. Everything is so lovely and kudos to the interior decorator! The home was stocked with everything you could possibly need including fresh eggs which we definitely enjoyed. There are beautiful gardens in the back of the properties and it is a nice peaceful walk to the river. Marty and Sandra went above and beyond as hosts, even updating us about the weather in the event we needed to use the heat. If you find yourself needing a place to stay in beautiful Barton, I highly recommend you stay here!

We loved our stay here! It was cute and quiet, the owners were so welcoming and kind — eggs from their hens, some wood to make a campfire, a path to the river to explore…if you have kids, there’s a fabulous ice cream shop nearby with a fire truck you can sit in (it also has a slide!). Crystal Lake is nearby, and the cabin is located between Jay Peak and Burke Mountain, so it’s really great for outdoor enthusiasts. The cabin is on a quiet street with a sidewalk, which my toddler loved for riding her bike and meeting all the neighbors. It has a small front porch perfect for afternoon snacks or evening drinks. In the summer they apparently have an amazing garden, so we will be back to check that out. Definitely a gem!!
