Welcome to Lazy Man's Way!

Please read more Important Information listed under rental agreement before booking

We hope you take the name as it is. Life here is the Lazy Man's Way. Our cabin is located on the corner of the Main Channel and Muddy Creek on Douglas Lake. It is year round lakefront. We have added a new floating dock that is partially covered and has a boat slip. It has a concrete walking ramp all the way to the waters edge. We have a covered picnic area with a charcoal grill built in and it has lights for those late night cook outs. Lazy Man's Way is truly the place to take a break and unwind.

Please note the following:
We require a photo ID of the person renting the home. A list of names and ages of all guests staying at home.
We need our documents signed and back to us within the next business day.
After Booking: If you have a problem or complaint, we suggest emailing us durning your stay immediately so we can handle the situation at hand while you are staying in our home.
We do not offer any discounts other than what has already been reflected in the price you see and we stay comparable to other homes in the area.
Do not wait till you check out and want a partial refund for your inconveniences.

Heaven on the Lake

We stayed a week in this beautiful cabin. The lake was so beautiful , peaceful and serene. The cabin was very comfy , and beautifully decorated. Had the pleasure of meeting the owner .Very sweet and nice lady who took good care of us making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation. Would definately stay here again . Loved it !

Beautiful Cabin and UNBEATABLE Location!

PROS: This cabin is located in the most perfect spot and has an amazing outdoor area and dock. You get a lot more privacy than some of the other cabins down the road, and the lot is relatively flat. We had 5 adults and 2 kids and slept comfortably in the cabin. CONS: Our check-in time was delayed by about 1.5 hours due to a cleaning delay and there is no internet in the cabin. OVERALL: We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay again!!

A restorative retreat

We loved our week at this peaceful, beautiful, and comfortable lake house. When we weren't floating or. paddling on the lake, we were enjoying eating, reading, hot tubbing, or playing games on the deck overlooking an amazing, panoramic view of the mountains and lake. We made some day trips from the house - 45 min to Gaitlinberg, 45-60 min into Smoky Mountain National Park (did some great warterfall hikes - Laurel Falls and Grotto Falls), an hour to Knoxville, 1.5hrs to Ashville. Beautiful scenery where ever you go! The house was a great spot to relax, restore, and reconnect with nature. The lake was calm (not too busy with boats), refreshing, and just what the doctor ordered!

Very Relaxing

If you're not looking for a "mountain stay", this is the place to stay! The view is spectacular and is directly on the lake. The water levels were down, but was to be expected for the time of year we stayed. The property sleeps lots of people and is laid out well. Could use a good deep cleaning as the overhead pot rack was greasy and showers were moldy. Linens were clean and the hot tub was clean and water temps were great! Kitchen was stocked well. Property location is a good drive away from town, but appreciate the serenity of being on the water. Would make a wonderful place to stay during summer...and you can bring your boat! Would definitely stay here again, but will bring my bleach

Beautiful area, lake water level was at least 25 feet down but did not effect our enjoyment. Saw a bald eagle catch a fish from the lake. Enjoyed sitting on the porch, watching the boats, soaking in the beauty of God's creation and relaxing in hot tub. Full-orange Moonrise over the mountain and across the water was quite spectacular! The rooms inside are small, and slightly awkward, but was fine for just me and spouse. House is really close to house beside that shares the driveway. Fairly easy drive to pigeon forge.

Breathtaking views

Cons: the cabin was not dusted as in when we turned the ceiling fans on the dirt and dust flew into our food. Keep aware that you can see into the bedroom beneath you in this cabin also. Would be nice if there were large area rugs to prevent this. I do know it's a cabin and this is possible. There was not a water hose to fill the hot tub as posted. Pros:: EVERYTHING!! This is a beautiful place with a beautiful view and cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay here. I'm sure summer would be the best time to enjoy the lake and dock but we still jumped in anyways. 😊 Thank you for letting our family share this place.

Property needs some attention only one jet in hot tub worked , hardly any light bulbs, shower on main floor needs to be fixed. Dirty broil pan was left in the oven

Nice place, but.....

the temp was 40 degrees, the fireplace would not light then the heating system stopped working. Although a repairman came out, nothing could be done until the following week. Apparently, no one had checked to ensure everything was working properly before we got there. We are getting a refund; will not use this property again.

Family Vacation

Overall the property was wonderful. We loved the scenic view of the lake, the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. However, there were too few supplies left for 5 people, such as toilet paper, paper towels, bath towels, hand towels, trash bags. Highly disappointed with game room. Agent said it was not supposed to be on the website because of damage during the summer, however, it appears to me that there was plenty of time to remove that item from the website since we were there the last part of October.

Birthday GetAway

This trip was for my mom’s 80th birthday. She loves coming to mountains and seeing fall foliage. Although there was not much of that during our stay, the cabin was awesome. Very few little small things I called about but it only was minor. My mom loved the place and it was beautiful, very,very clean. Only wished the fishing had been a little better but couldn’t ask for nicer place. We will definitely be back again.

Great location

We had a wonderful time and will definitely return. The cabin was clean and owner/rental company were friendly. Just a couple of little things would have made it perfect. The kitchen is very lacking. We searched around and came up with two forks... and only one coffee mug. Could definitely use more there. It would have been nice if the game room equipment had worked as well. Ultimately though, we enjoyed the trip and the cabin.

Beautiful!

We loved Lazy mans way! Sat on the porch most of the time when we was at the cabin enjoying the views! Beautiful sunrise over the mountains! Quick response with questions. Not one complaint. Cabin is close enough to Dollywood and all attractions in the area. We definitely recommend staying at Lazy mans way !

Great lake house!

Property was clean. Easy drive. Beautiful location on the lake. Party pad is a bit deceiving in photos we think- looks much larger but was plenty of space. The yard has an easy enough slope to lake (your the lake- you'll see others are crazy!). Lake is wonderful & clean. House is on great lake. On property boat launch is not an easy one but there is an easy one next door for public access. Kitchen is a 1 person kitchen with enough items & typical necessities... but could replace pans & add some more cooking / baking pans/dishes. Very little grocery space. Beds are comfortable... loft is great but not for slee6in (sunrise & house noise). We spent 80% of time on deck/lake. We had a wonderful week with family & friends!

Scenic views

We would have enjoyed it more if we had a TV that worked, no hot water in upstairs bathroom, just a hand full of towels. location was beautiful, yard was beautiful. Bedrooms extremely small, no closets.

Spacious Lot

Lots of outdoor space on a private point. Nice to have all linens included. WiFi would have given this place a 5; would like to have had the capability to search area on iPad. Too much data use for phone. Daughter could not do online college homework.

We had a wonderful time! The property is gorgeous! The cabin had everything we needed to cook. Communication was excellent. This property has amazing views. We would highly recommend this cabin and will definitely love to come back!

Wonderful cabin. Disappointing gameroom

Cabin, location, cleanliness, communication and check-in were all fantastic. However, the game-room was an important factor in our choice, and it was completely misrepresented in pictures as having a pool table, Foosball table and air hockey. Pool table was miniature size, no Fußball table and air hockey didn't work (cut cable). We suggest removing that picture from the listing. We still had a wonderful time, though, and the location view and general confort can't be beat.

Enjoyed our stay

We enjoyed the time there. It was easy to get to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Relaxing place. We were a little disappointed that the game room was not what the web site said it was. And the hot tub needed to be cleaned out . But for the most part we had a great time. Looking forward to another adventure. Thank you!
