This is the cleanest rental ever. I can tell you this with confidence because my dog detects every scrap of food lost in a couch or under a kitchen counter. She found nothing here to whine about! We had a great time visiting, and found the kitchen fairly well equipped for our Thanksgiving cooking projects.
Cute house, well maintained, it was nice that it allowed a dog. Someone could have blown off all the tree waste on the porch and stairs down the back. Due to rain I had concerns of falling. Also, the back yard didn’t look like the pictures - yard was over grown - even five minutes with a blower would have been nice. I did appreciate the good communication with the owner. I would stay there again.

Dog-friendly, older home in a nice neighborhood
This was our first time staying in Ballard, and we enjoyed having a place so close to shopping, cafes and restaurants. I appreciated the big fenced-in backyard for our dog. The kitchen has tons of cabinet space and looks like it was recently remodeled. Overall, the place was fine with a few caveats. The sink was copper and gave off a weird smell, which was disturbing. The bathroom was extremely small and no there was no storage space. I would’ve liked a light over the washer dryer in the basement, because at night we could not see what we were doing. Also, the drawers in the master bedroom had hair and dust in them. The beds were very comfortable. I would suggest having some throw blankets in the living room and extra blankets for the beds nearby. Wash cloths and a better description on the VRBO website about parking and checkout information given in advance would’ve been helpful.
Cute bungalow just steps away from all the restaurants and shops in Greenwood. The check in process was a bit awkward. We arrived at 4PM but the cleaners were not finished; we came back later in the evening and the cleaners had not set the lock correctly so we were locked out. I couldn’t reach the owner so I called VRBO and they were very helped us and we eventually reached the owner.
The house and yard are as pictured. The beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is small but standard for the area. The house had plenty of fluffy towels, but no washcloths. The kitchen is beautifully renovated and has all the basics for light cooking. The living room sofa wasn’t particularly comfortable, but we were out most of the time so it didn’t matter. The backyard was clean and fully fenced in. The webbed chairs in the yard could use some cushions for comfort. The house advertises air conditioning, but it is not. One bedroom has a window unit, but it only worked as a fan - no cold air.
Overall, you can’t beat the location, and the house was clean and served our needs for a 3 night stay.
We stayed at this property for 5 evenings. The house is cute, 2 bedroom one bathroom. The street out front of the house is extremely busy, day and night as it seems that it's a thorough fair, so a bit challenging to get in and out, plus an elementry school right across the street.
It's your typical old house with creeky floors, so don't expect to sneak around if others are in bed, lol.
The kitchen has been renovated and has a nice gas stove, copper farm house sink (haven't seen that before and yes, it does give off a smell, weird!), along with a dishwasher & full size fridge.
If I could suggest, I would ask the home owners to put up black out curtains in the bedrooms as the neighbor next door keeps their patio lights on all night and they shine right in and feels like it's daylifght. Plus a kettle for tea would be great too! It takes a while to heat up water on the stove. House keeping could have done a better job of cleaning the house. The floor was dirty and the ceiling fans had quite a bit of dust on them.
Other than that, it's a good area, only about 15-20 min drive to downtown. There are a couple little restaurants and coffee shops not far from the house. The Pete's Eggnest has delicious breakfast, but you will have to wait for a table.
We did have a bit of an issue with sugar ants in the bathroom but the homeowner said it's due to the rain? I just kept flushing them back down the sink, lol.
It's great to stay at a pet friendly house!
Thank you!
The bathroom and kitchen have been redone. It is in the cute Greenwood neighborhood, right near an elementary school. I loved walking to Diva espresso. There is room for one car with the shared driveway. The listing was not accurate. It said there were 3 beds, 2 queens and a twin bed in the common area. After I booked the property I realized I didn't see any twin beds in the photographs. When I reached out to the owner, they said there was actually a queen air mattress and not a 3rd bed. I was a little disappointed but thought we could make it work. When we got to the home I realized there were not any blankets for the air mattress. I reached out to the owner and they apologized. They said they could send some through Amazon but they wouldn't arrive until the next day. I said, no sense in sending those I could just go to purchase my own so my kids wouldn't have to sleep on an air mattress without linen. The next morning the air mattress was a little flat. We reinflated it but half way through the 2nd night it went so flat the kids couldn't sleep on it. One of them had to bunk with me and one on the couch. The owner had been so quick to respond but when I aksed if they were going to fix the listing to accurately reflect the bed situation they didn't respond. I reached out to VRBO to make sure they didn't consider an air mattress a bed. They do not. The listing finally had the twin bed removed but it stills states it sleeps 6 comfortably. It definitely does not.
