********* WALK TO EVERYTHING! *********

For the ultimate in convenience this large 5 bedroom house is located on Osborne Lane in the heart of East Hampton Village. A short stroll down the sidewalk brings you to all the variety of interests East Hampton is known for. From the windmills, art galleries, museums and theaters of Main Street to the restaurants, bars, and designer shops along Newtown Lane nothing is more than a few minutes walk out of your front door.

This 1930 traditional is tastefully furnished with a combination of period pieces and modern amenities to help transport the guests to the simpler time of small farm-based community living without sacrificing the standard of luxury for which East Hampton has become synonymous

The house has an great flow with an open sunny living room framed on one side by a large fireplace and mantle, set into the room on a bias. Past the fireplace and through a set of wide French doors, you are led to to the formal dining room, fully furnished with a fine China service for 12 should you wish to host an elegant dinner party.

The dining room opens out onto the sun-drenched back patio where you can pick some fresh growing mint for a refreshing Mojito or homemade ice tea. The patio has matched seating Too much sun? A simple flick of the switch extends a motorized electric awning to shade the whole patio and protect your delicate complexion.

The fully stocked kitchen has recently had all of the original 20th century cabinetry stripped and restored including period details such as the built-in bread drawer and a few select functional period pieces like the 1952 Sunbeam Mixmaster stand mixer and Oster beehive blender seem to make everything taste a little more like they were made with your grandmother's gentle TLC.

All of the large appliances are modern. An LG Fridge with bottom freezer rounds out the appliance package including a the top of the line Kitchen Aid dishwasher (with High Heat Sanitizing Option), a GE range with extra-low simmer burners, and high efficiency front loading washing machine.

Provided for guest use are also a dazzling array of small kitchen appliances including Juicer, Espresso Machine, Smoker, Ice Shaver, Automatic Bread Maker & Food Processor as well as Microwave and Toaster. There is even an electric food crisper for those who want to keep the snap in their chips even on the most humid days.

There is also a second refrigerator located in the back pantry & vestibule. This small room, which sits on the first floor behind the kitchen, laundry, and full bath, opens out onto the pool area and is set up to serve the pool with towel storage and outdoor serving gear & games as well as this utility fridge.

The second floor has 3 bedrooms as well as a den / sitting room. Each of the bedrooms has a queen bed, and independently controlled A/C unit. There is also a conventional ceiling fan in each bedroom for those who do not wish to use A/C or to enhance the performance of the A/C.

There is a full bath with tub on this floor with an updated marble floor and tiled shower enclosure. The upstairs sitting room is furnished in a period Art-Deco style and contains a beautiful full-sized bed as well as a reading library with a variety of art books, cook books, children's books, and books on local history and activities.

There is also a shared linen closet and stairway leading up to the finished attic which contains two more large rooms. One of the attic bedrooms has a Queen bed and the other contains two matched twin beds and has a decidedly child-friendly feel, containing several pieces of child-scale furniture including musical rocking chairs.

After bringing the kids to the children's playground in Herrick Park or playing some tennis, softball, Frisbee or soccer there yourself it is barely 5 minutes until you are cooling off in the heated pool located in the privacy of a backyard completed surrounded by groomed hedges and mature plantings. There is also a large side yard which is big enough to set up a volleyball or badminton game.

Great location!

My friends and I had a wonderful weekend at this property. We loved how easy it was to walk to town. Sean made the rental process very seamless as well. Thank you for the wonderful trip!

Thankful for this lovely house.

My family recently spent the most wonderful Thanksgiving holiday in this warm and endearing house. I had stayed here during the summer 3+ years ago and had a really nice time, always meaning to return again for a similar holiday. The timing for the Summer hadn't worked out but when we ended up hosting both sets of parents at Thanksgiving for the first time we thought about finding a nice place with some extra room to make the Holiday a bit more special. It was actually our kids, who have always remembered coming here during that summer, that suggested coming back in the fall. It was a terrific decision as the owner helped us work out some details that made the stay not only more comfortable for us but also more delicious. Sean even helped us secure a locally raised Turkey and Duck which were a big hit at our festive meal. During the weekend we all went on a guided hike along some old Indian trails and my kids were treated to all the wonderful attention of 4 grandparents on holiday. Everybody had a terrific time here and we made the kind of memories that will stay with us for some time. I only hope we can make it a more frequent tradition. Peter L.

Perfect location in the heart of EH!

My friends had a lovely time staying in Sean's home. The back yard is beautiful for sitting around with friends and the house is just a stone's throw (very very walkable) from downtown east hampton. Highly recommend!

Perfect location, great for a group

We loved Sean’s house! It’s perfect for a big group, enough space in the house to spread out and work for the day but then have dinner all together in the dining room. Awesome large backyard to play games & beautiful pool. The location is perfect to walk into town for a meal, shopping or picking up from the grocery store. You can also grab the shuttle to the beach and visit nearby attractions! Our group all came from Manhattan and the train drops you about a 5 minute walk away. Huge plus!

Personable Rental

Sean is a really lovely person who did everything to make our stay comfortable. The house is certainly full of character and not a cookie cutter business rental which was lovely. It was well equipped and if anything I would say it's a little too well equipped and could use a little bit of marie condo de-clutter. The location is very good, ease of access to shops and cafes. We walked to the beach, Egypt Beach in particular was beautiful and where we saw whales up close. Pool was clean and children enjoyed splashing about. Thanks Sean

Location is key!

We had a wonderful week stay in East Hampton. Location is everything while staying in the Hamptons and this one nails it. Close proximity to Main Street, walking distance from shops and restaurants, train station, playground for the kids, and a 15 min drive to Montauk. House has an old charm to it with ample space for all of us. Pool was warm and was great for a swim after the beach. Sean was quick to respond with any questions and great with information and knowledge of the area. All in all a great stay.

Excellent location, close to everything, beautiful grounds and pool

We stayed for a week as a group of people for a work trip in town. We really enjoyed the property, pool, and the house after work each day. The owner is very easy to communicate, responds in the very short time, The house has everything you need and the owner has an eye for every detail and item you may possibly find yourself looking for. There is a gas as well as charcoal BBQ equipment, and we BBQ’ed 4 nights in the row. The appliances are a bit dated; however washing mashing and oven work better then any modern appliances. I highly recommend this property to any group of guests.

East Hampton Mother’s Day Gem

I joined 8 family members, ages 14 to 80, plus 1 mini-doodle, to spend an extended Mother’s Day weekend at this gem of a house. Sean was an extremely informative and accommodating host. He was always available to answer questions, from the minute we expressed interest in using the pool so early in the season, until the final detailed instructions that he provided for check-out day. The house is conveniently located (note: since it’s in the middle of town, be ready for some passing train noise, which you will quickly get used to); it’s well appointed with all appliances/TVs/WiFi/etc you might need; as well as extremely neat and comfortably furnished. In addition to the pool, there is a large backyard that the mini-doodle enjoyed most of all. Yes, it’s an older house, but, my family grew up in a house that was even older, so we know that the years of natural wear and tear only add to its charm. Our one wish would have been for more room in the driveway to maneuver the 4 SUV’s that we arrived in. We all hope to return, perhaps with some other family members, as soon as our schedules will allow it, and when the weather is a bit warmer, so that we can actually enjoy the beautiful pool and nearby beaches, and explore more of the neighborhood shops, restaurants and local trails, and visit more of the suggested locations that Sean so graciously took the time to outline for us.

Incredible Location and Beautiful home!

Amazing! I stayed here with a group of girlfriends and we all loved it! Sean was incredibly helpful and thoughtful when explaining particular details of the house and was very responsive before and during the stay if questions arose. The house's location is perfect... a 5-min walk to the nearest coffee shop, sandwich shop, train station, and to the main town. The pool and backyard is beautiful - and the house itself is inviting and comfortable. It was my third time to stay in the Hamptons and this was by far my favorite experience. Can't wait to visit again!! Thank you!

A wonderful fall getaway.

My daughter got married over the summer and they will be soon be moving away for work. We decided to start a yearly family reunion tradition and chose this beautiful home for our first one. Couldn't have been happier with our choice. Such a great location in this charming town. We made or bought picnic lunches nearly everyday and just walked till we chose another tranquil spot to enjoy our meal surrounded by nature. Our host provided excellent suggestions and left us a local hiking guide which never failed to deliver. Even though it was the end of September, we lucked out and had some very warm and sunny days so the pool was also enjoyed more than we anticipated. We are all looking forward to returning again, hopefully next year.

Another Fantastic Time

My cousin Laura, who lives in New York rented this place last year while we were visiting from Germany. It was one of the highlights of our visit so this year we timed our visit to be able to come back. It ended up being a really hot week so we were so glad to have been out of the city for that time. The house stayed nice and cool but mostly we couldn't stay out of the pool. So refreshing. There was some kind of fancy outdoor smoker that Laura had learned how to use since last year. We tried smoking meats and fish and had a nice supply of delicious local fresh food and breads which I still relish months later. I hope our visits to the U.S. keep lining up with the house rental here.

Such an amazing place!

My wife and I spent a week at Sean's house in East Hampton in September 2015, it was one of the best weeks of our lives. We had our siblings come out to visit throughout the week and had ample space in the house. It is a quiet oasis, that was so relaxing for us all. Sean was such a great host, and so accommodating to all of our questions before and throughout our trip. We look forward to renting again next year!

Wonderful Stay!!

A group of us rented this house for a long weekend and had a great time! The location is ideal -close walk to everything!! The house was extremely comfortable, and the pool/huge yard/volleyball net/bikes/BBQ grill added to the overall entertainment of the weekend. Sean was very nice, professional and easy to coordinate with throughout the process. We look forward to staying in this house again soon...next time for a whole week!!

September Hamptons Weekend

I went to this lovely home in early September with six other girlfriends for a very low key bachelorette party for my sister. We didn't have the greatest weather, so we were not able to use the pool, but the house was a really great size and was very comfortable for us on those rainy days. We all slept incredibly comfortably and had our own rooms. Our favorite part of the trip were the recommendations of places to see and visit that our gracious host told us about. Our favorite, Mecox Farm where we picked up a chicken! I have been going to the Hamptons for years and have not known about the hidden gems that our host knew of.

Beautiful Property

We are repeat renters, having returned for 3 straight years for 2 weeks in August. The grounds, patio, and pool are gorgeous. It is an incredible piece of property. You can't beat the location - 2 blocks from Newtown Lane, the heart of East Hampton shopping and restaurants. Walk to all. That's huge. The house and property work very well for us - with enough room for me, some guests, and teenagers on the top floor. The top floor is great for teens - sleeps 6, but does not have a bath. Also the stairs to the top floor go through a BR. Not a problem for teens in that BR. 2 full baths accommodate everyone. I might recommend installing an outdoor shower to take up the slack and beach sand. A con is the kitchen which is old and small. Not such a big deal for us because we visit in summer and the large outdoor grill suits most of our needs. A plus is a 2nd refrigerator in the backroom to keep plenty of cold drinks. We've had a wonderful experience in this home for the past 3 summers and hope to return.

Beautiful East Hampton Home for Summer Vacation

We absolutely loved our stay at Sean’s house. His house is so nicely decorated and offers so many nice amenities. It is a huge house with so many different sleeping options, which are all very nice to choose from. His swimming pool is beautiful, clean, refreshing and very relaxing. We loved hanging out by his pool! His house is perfectly located near everything in the small town of East Hampton. We loved walking with our pet bulldog to get coffee across the street each morning; we even ran into some celebrities a few times there and in nearby Sag Harbor which is always exciting. Our favorite time during our stay at Sean’s house was enjoying each others’ company while eating dinner (which we grilled in the backyard as well as cooked inside- it was quite a feast) outside by the lit tiki torches and graceful fireflies that lit up his entire backyard and pool; it looked like a storybook or movie set. Simply beautiful!! Sean definitely takes wonderful care of his home and his guests, and we greatly appreciated all the wonderful hospitality! We would of course definitely stay again! Thanks for a great time and all your excellent suggestions, which definitely ensured a fabulous vacation for us all!!

Why they chose this property

Known worldwide for it's stunning natural beauty and combination of fertile soil and seas as well as a climate tempered by both the Atlantic Ocean and Peconic Bay, the East End of Long Island is quite simply a natural paradise. The spectacular natural light that graces these shores has been bringing painters and artists here since the 19th century. The pristine white-sand beaches that were once celebrated have been one of the great cultural equalizers from the Gatsby era Wiborgs and their guests, who were the actual basis for many of F. Scott Fitzgerald's characters,

What makes this property unique

One of the greatest benefits I get when staying at this property in East Hampton is just seeing my neighbors and visitors a during my frequent walks to town which is only a few hundred yards away. I love visiting the volunteers who staff LVIS (The Ladies Village Improvement Society) and finding bargains.
