We have had a lovely time stopping in the Grove cottage and beautiful location.
Cottage is kept very clean and tidy and great communication from the owner. It's about a 30 minute drive to Aberdovey, which is worth a visit for a day at the beach. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again in the future.

A beautiful experience in Snowdonia
The cottage is in pristine condition and well looked after. We arrived during a cold spell (it snowed) but the wood stove in the living room soon took care of that. The host is charming and available if needed. There was WiFi provided, but was weak on occasion and the owner is aware that it requires ‘strengthening.’ Not a ‘show-stopper’ as WiFi for most is provided by their mobile sim. The area is stunning with great walks, nature reserves and reservoirs close by. For aircraft buffs the Mach Loop is about 12 kilometres away where low flying aircraft of all types can be seen flying low between the valleys. A great stay, and thank you to the host.

Pretty setting with fields and lambs all around, cottage has a nice log burner and electric heaters in every room but no central heating. We had to have the heaters on constantly and the fire in the evenings to keep warm, but even in April you needed to be wrapped up indoors. The bedrooms are cute and the cottage as a whole has lots of potential to be really lovely, but it does needs updating...and central heating installed!

Peaceful location
A weeks staycation. A nice location. House is old and condition as expected but could have been cleaner. Parking is limited but enough if everyone parks with care. Everything you need. Great central location but car needed. Can reach beaches and mountains and everything in between.

A good base with some shortcomings.
The Grove is within a 300-year-old building set in picturesque countryside with a lovely communal garden. The cottage would benefit from further updating but was adequate for the price we paid. Heating can be a problem if you do not want to use the wood-burner (which we didn’t): the cottage depends on electric radiators (the one in the dining area did not work) and portable electric heaters which when used all at once can trip the electrics. WiFi is intermittent as it relies on a hub in the cottage next-door. The manager Kym is very pleasant and helpful and warned us of the quirks mentioned above and told us how to switch the electricity back on, etc. Overall we made the most of our stay, as the cottage is a good base from which to explore the local area and further afield into Snowdonia.
