Our Stay at the Hideaway
The Hideaway on the River is a very quiet and peaceful dwelling. The fact that it is located on the river was very delightful. Getting up with my coffee, sitting on the deck with the river passing by, with all of the songbirds was very peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank You

Jewell on the Missouri River
We flew into Bozeman and made the easy drive to this beautiful Hideaway on the Missouri River. The setting is totally peaceful as you watch the river flow by from the deck. The unit is sparkling clean and cozy. The Hosts, Ellie & Bill, are friendly and helpful, but also provide the feeling of total privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Truly a rare Jewell! 4 days of Wonderful Rest & Relaxation
A very nice place to stay. Clean & upscale, nicely appointed and comfortable. Our stay was in mid July, so we had warm sunshine outside, most often with a cooling breeze. The yard is park like, with the view from the deck being the Missouri River, farmlands, and mountains in the distance. Oh yes, eagles, pelicans, ducks and other birds, plus deer, rabbits and chipmunks abound. Bill and Ellie were great hosts, available if desired, but otherwise giving us lots of privacy. We will return!

Blissfully peaceful
We had a wonderful relaxing stay at the hideaway! The beautiful views from the back porch of the river and hills were lovelier every night we were there. We were able to watch a pair of eagles hunting on the rivers edge and many ducks and geese. There were also song birds just making their way home after wintering in the south. The house has everything you need to cook all your own meals and the tub and shower were just wonderful to enjoy! The bed was comfy and the fireplace was so nice sit by in the evenings. Such a great place to unplug and unwind!

Wow! Clean, smells wonderful, design is high end and very well appointed.
We are very picking guests... and this vacation rental was gorgeous and the view was even better! We feared it would be a long drive into Bozeman and Townsend but it only took about 35-40 minutes to get to Bozeman and 15 to get to Townsend. It was relaxing under the brilliant stars with a fire pit burning and during our stay we heard and saw a broad range of wildlife and birds... the flowing river right out front was so soothing. We highly recommend this for a break from everything... especially for a couple. The hosts we so welcoming... they went above and beyond as compared to other rentals we have stayed in. This is a memorable spot in this beautiful state.

The photos of this rental are exactly what you find - and then you experience "more"... every detail is well thought out for style and comfort! From the welcome basket goodies, water and candy at bedside, and relaxing/restful color scheme and decor. The property is gorgeous, inside and out pristine and very well-maintained. Owners, Ellie and Bill, are gracious and friendly. This week was the perfect break needed to sit on the deck enjoying the river and views - we could not have asked for more!

Lovely property on the Missouri River - beautiful morning sun and evening sunsets
This is a very nicely appointed studio apartment. It is really new construction and all of the appliances are modern. The grounds are immaculately maintained and the gardening is very attractive. Ellie & Bill are extremely nice owners that will go the extra mile to help - Ellie did some great research for us regarding local fishing guides! We really enjoyed our extended stay at The Hideaway. The firepit area is private and there is a really sweet deck located halfway down to the river that is wonderful for star gazing on a clear night. Toston is not really a going concern these days, but Townsend and Three Forks are within a 20 minute drive. Three Forks is quite nice and Townsend also has all the services that you might need. One caution, we were a bit surprised to find that this "Carriage House" is actually attached to the owner's home. They have done a good job of making it feel private but it was a bit of a surprise when we first arrived.

Relaxing Hideaway
My wife and I spent four nights here in mid August. This is a great place to get away from it all. Very quite and with the Missouri River at your footstep there is always something to see as you relax from the outside patio of this cottage. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and I thought must have been appointed by a high priced designer but found our host, Ellie had done it herself. The pictures in the listing are accurate and not touched up. The bathroom is huge. You have a king size bed a two person eating table and a really comfortable living room with a fireplace. The furniture is top quality and the wood working is some of the best I have ever seen. Kitchen is well supplied and you actually have a full sized washer and dryer. Bill and Ellie your hosts and owners are wonderful people who take pride in the cottage, their house and property. But most of all they are warm and inviting people who do every thing to make sure your stay is great experience. We highly recommend this property.

Nice place to stay
This is a lovely, well-appointed studio apartment that is attached to the owner's home, separated from it by a garage. It has private front and and back entrances, a porch with a privacy screen on the owner's side, and lovely landscaping (still a bit in progress) on the other side, creating a kind of large garden and outdoor living space for the apartment. The house and apartment are in a small development along the Missouri River. The apartment's river frontage includes a little terrace above the river with table and chairs. Stairs go down to a rock walkway at the top of the river bank. It is very peaceful to sit in any of the outdoor spaces. We saw deer, rabbits, ground squirrels, pelicans and a range of other water birds. There is currently no river access from the apartment's frontage (very steep, very brushy banks), though it appears that you might be able to get to the river from the owner's back yard. The property is 20-30 minutes from the two nearest towns, both of which have servicable grocery stores and a few restaurants. In the mountains nearby (nearby for Montana!) there is some beautiful hiking, including Crow Creek Falls.

WONDERFULLY SERENE GETAWAY
Jim and I wanted a place to go that was lovely, modern and secluded. We found all of these here. The place is beautiful and right on the river. The views are AMAZING--the amount of birds we saw every day was incredible,--Hawks and Eagles nearby. Ellie and her husband have all the things you need even a bird book, a grill, a outdoor fire pit and indoor fireplace, bath salts for the bath, etc. We would go out every day for hikes, canoeing and sightseeing and come back to this beautiful home. Every morning I would walk while Jim would fish--It truly was good for my soul.

Perfect Spot
This place was perfect. First of all, it's beautiful inside and out. The bathroom is beautiful, the kitchen is great, the bed is comfortable, and the view is amazing. Second, it's in a great location. Just far enough from everything, while still being close enough to everything you need. Perfect for a couple's retreat.

Second Visit in 10 months!
This our favorite place to get away! My husband and I have stayed a The Hideaway twice in 10 months. Easy Drive from Minnesota and the perfect jumping off point for each days adventure. We got massages in Helena, soaked in the White Sulphur Hot Springs, bummed around Bozeman, dined in historic Three Rivers, drove to Big Sky, Livingston and hit Red Lodge in the way home (Not a direct route but beautiful). The accommodations are the highest quality, beautifully appointed and very clean. It has everything needed for a romantic, adventurous, or quiet get away. We feel blessed by Bill and Ellie's hospitality. We will most definitely make the Hideaway a vacation destination as often as possible!

Ellie designed and created the Hideaway based on her 40-plus years in the travel industry. Ellie and her husband, Bill, have the heart to serve others. They desire to ensure their guests have a positive experience during their stay.

She strives to show appreciation by adding value to everyone who stays at the Hideaway.

Ellie is a Montana native and has a vast knowledge of the area. She and her husband are excited to host you for your upcoming visit or special occasion.

“Appreciate where you are in your journey. Even if it’s not where you want to be. Every season serves a purpose.”

Why they chose this property

Ellie was born and raised in Montana, and her grandfather, Shadan Lahood, was instrumental in her life on the river. When she was a small girl, she would take (what seemed like forever) the long drive from Helena to LaHood 60 miles and has now created what Ellie calls a modern-day LaHood Park on the Missouri River. AKA: Hideaway Montana

As a Montana native, growing up in Helena, I knew in my heart that I wanted to live on the water. When this property first came for sale, we quickly checked it out. After walking the property, I knew this was where we would build our home. We are close to Bozeman and Helena and are centrally located to head either North or South for many events during our big summer season.

What makes this property unique

This area is unique as it is away from it all, quiet, serene, and has some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets that I have ever seen.

We love the wildlife of the best walleye fishing that only locals know about.

The Montana BIG sky in the summer evenings with the blazing fire in the outdoor fire pit is truly a Montana experience. There is no other place we would rather be than enjoying our view from the living areas and decks.

We are sure that you will LOVE it here, too!

Our carriage house (Hideaway) caters to romantic getaways. Most of our guests visit us for special occasions, such as Anniversaries, engagements, birthdays, and honeymoons.

We are rural and away from it all, so couples reconnect with 300 feet of Missouri River frontage.
