A most Unique experience of relaxation, peace and tranquility overlooking the Coquille River is yours in this Vintage School House transformed to high end living. The river comes at you from the East and leaves you going off into the distance Southwest into the ocean. Just 3 miles & 5-7 minutes away from the world renown Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.

The main upper level that is the entire upper floor of this beautiful home with a gorgeous veranda, master suite, full kitchen, dinning and living area. Two fully separated identical suites on the lower level offer you 2 Queen Pillow-top beds with down comforters, Cable TV, Tile and hardwood thru-out, glass shower stall and a mini kitchen. (Sorry, no stoves/ovens downstairs). There is a lovely sitting area just outside your room with sliding glass windows and a table to dine on, write on or just hold your glass of wine and a vase of flowers.

Perfect for the Honeymooner's, a romantic get-a-way, ideal for the writer in such a peaceful setting or bring your small group as a special retreat venue. A special place

This property was even better than we expected! The kitchen was very well stocked. And very spacious for several people to all be cooking together. The living area upstairs was very comfortable, with the most beautiful view! All the updating of this beautiful old building was top notch. The 2 apartmments downstairs were so nice and private. Everything we could want was there .We had beautiful weather and enjoyed being outside and walking around. Anything we drove to seemed close by, but just hanging out with friends in a peaceful, beautiful setting was our main goal.Such a special spot!

We walked into the house and were speechless. What an amazing house and location. The attention to detail was incredible along with the cleanliness of it. I have never stayed in an older home booked through VRBO like this one. Kudos to the owner for all that has been put into this place. It had everything a group could need and more. I hope we are able to return some day.

Perfect Place for our Large Family!

Our family of 7 absolutely loved our three day stay at this super cool place outside of Bandon, OR. The transformed schoolhouse has so many great things about it, and the sunroom is my favorite of those things. What a great place to hang out, read, spend time with family, and share meals together. We didn't want to leave the house during our trip, and only did leave for the wedding we were in Bandon for. That is a testament to how cool the house is and how great the hosts are. They had other great touches around the house like chargers in some of the outlets, waters in the fridge and by the beds, and other convenient things for us during our stay. I unequivocally recommend this place for anyone wanting a place that feels like home AND is an incredible getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Family Reunion Getaway

We were beyond pleased with the accommodations and our stay! The home was exactly as described. I only wish we spent more time in the home. We came out to gather with family from California and Washington. Most were staying at the state park, so most of our time was spent there. The house was so well appointed with great bedding, lots of towels and a fully stocked kitchen. I wish I hadn't packed so much because the kitchen had almost everything I brought including spices, foil and storage bags! It was also fun to learn a little bit about the cranberry growth and harvest from the owners!

Couples Golf Getaway

Preferred this property far more than the on-site properties at Bandon Dunes. Directly adjacent to the Bandon Courses. Stocked beyond our wildest dreams with any necessary and non-necessity items. Relaxing outside and enjoying the evening overlooking the Randolph Slough will be forever memorable. Exceeded our expectations!

Great time

This house was awesome had a great time. Alot of stairs but the place was clean and very well stocked with supplys. There was condiments and extra things like that already there which was a pleasent suprise. Alot of misquitos at night so bring the bug spray overall i would highly recomend. Any negatives is just if im really nit-picking. I will be back.

Perfect place to stay!

This property is beautiful! We recently took a trip to Oregon to visit family that we haven’t seen in 30 years and came across this VRBO. I had no idea what to expect as this was my first experience renting places on my own. The owners were great with communication, the place was clean, spacious, and just a hidden gem! The patio view and charm of the house was one of the highlight from our trip. If you are thinking about renting this place, do it and you will not be disappointed.

Charming house

We were a group of 8 involving 3 generations of family members getting together for spring break. To begin with it was raining and cold when we reached but the main part of the living space is so well lighted, the rain just added charm to the view of coquille river from the beautiful sunroom. The home had just about every thing that you could wish for. The owner was available always as they lived in a short distance to the property and was very engaging in making our vacation memorable. The home had enough space to provide privacy and space for everyone when needed and then a beautiful common area for all to hangout! We made some amazing memories there playing board games and cards until late nights! The beach was very close by too and we got to drive to the coast a couple of days and check out a few restaurants in Bandon too. All in all a very beautiful and charming home with a lot of character. We will most definitely return again!

Amazing Views & Comfort

We had a great time getting together as a family. This house has everything well thought out and has all the conveniences that you would need for a relaxing trip. The only complaint is that the WiFi really didn’t work at all and our Verizon signals were too low to provide a HotSpot.

Awesome house, Great view, & very close to Bandon dunes gold courses.

Our stay was great. We showed up to some unexpected snow but we made the most of the stay. The house was very roomy, quiet, and fully equipped with everything you need. The property dog also greeted you every time you returned, which was a pleasant encounter. We will definitely be returning.

The Ruddell family are Cranberry farmers with a sentiment for family, friends and entertaining. They have loved this property for a long while and now would like to share it with others.

Why they chose this property

The location of this school goes back to April 1, 1884 when first established as a result of the discovery of gold at Whiskey Run. A trail was used by the miners who walked from Coos Bay to the mouth of the Coquille River. This trail was called the 'Randolph Trail' originally, but after a wagon road was built by Coos County some years later, the name of the trail was changed to Seven Devils Road.

The school moved around. At first it was at Whiskey Run, but later moved to a building at Rocky Point.

Since the Ruddell's have owned it on the current property in the community of Randolph, it has been renovated and moved a few hundred feet to it's current location and re-assembled the classroom floor on the second story. It still has the original old clap-board siding.

What makes this property unique

Convenient proximity to the world renown Bandon Dunes Golf Course, six miles to the quaint little hamlet of Bandon where there are shops, a wharf and many wonderful restaurants. You can walk for miles on the beaches when the tide is out exploring tide pools and many different kinds of wildlife, not to mention the Coquille Lighthouse and Bullards Beach State Park. Bandon Crossing Golf Club and Old Bandon Golf Links are also here for your golfing pleasure.
There is a Wild Game Park just south of town and much more to offer.
1.5 miles to Rocky Point boat ramp for Salmon fishing on the Coquille River. RV site in conjunction with the Randolph School House.
