This romantic getaway is ideal for couples or small families that want to travel off the beaten track. Nestled on two acres of luscious Umbrian gardens in the middle of a natural reserve, total quiet and seclusion is guaranteed. Yet access to many of the region's most popular medieval villages and towns is easy, with restaurants, musical festivals, museums and beaches are within an hours reach. The train from Orvieto takes guests in less than an hour to both Florence and Rome, so leave your stress behind, bring a stack of books and some music, and just enjoy the wild nature in this unforgettable location
The cottage itself is simple yet tasteful and built using local, traditional materials- wooden beams, terracotta tiles, and stone details enhance the sense of blending in with the surroundings. A large swimming pool is steps across a small field, and there is a table for outdoor eating as well as one for indoor dining. Should there be a chill in the air during Spring or Fall months, stacks of firewood for the fireplace are on hand.
Our small stone cottage is paradise for couples and small families wanting to explore a lovely region and decide whether to relax in a completely quiet and natural setting or venture out to see some of the most lovely villages and landscapes in the world.

Absolute Ruhe
Wir hatten das Ferienhaus für 17 Tage und haben jeden genossen. Es liegt in einem wunderbaren, von alten Eichen und Kastanienbäumen beschatteten Grundstück, was im Sommer sehr von Vorteil ist. Man hat einen traumhaften Ausblick auf die umliegenden Hügel der Calanchi. Die Zufahrt ist etwas abenteuerlich und für größere oder tiefer liegende Fahrzeuge sicher nicht geeignet. Dafür hat man aber absolute Ruhe. In 10 bis 15 Minuten gelangt man mit dem Auto oder E-Bike nach Lubriano, wo man die wesentlichsten Sachen einkaufen kann. Bagnoregio ist dann auch nicht mehr weit. Das Haus selbst ist einfach ausgestattet aber ordentlich. Tobia, einer der Besitzer und Fabrizio, der Gärtner waren sehr zuvorkommend und zur Stelle, wenn etwas gebraucht wurde. Für Ruhesuchende, die mit wenig Comfort auskommen und auch damit leben können, dass es praktisch keinen Internet und Handyempfang gibt - eine absolute Empfehlung. Wir kommen jedenfalls gerne wieder. Ein Traum 14-Tage waren wie ein Augenblick
Nach einer 11-stündigen Autofahrt haben wir endlich diesen wunderbaren Ort erreicht. Schon von der ersten Minute an waren wir überwältigt – man muss es gesehen haben, um es zu glauben. Mitten im Wald gelegen, bot sich uns auf der einen Seite ein atemberaubender Blick auf die Calanchi – es war wie ein 3D-Mega-Kinoerlebnis. Das Ferienhaus selbst war mit allem ausgestattet und alles war blitzsauber. Zu unserer Ankunft wurden wir mit zwei Flaschen Wein begrüßt, und sowohl innen als auch außen standen frische Blumen auf dem Tisch. Vielen Dank dafür, Fabrizio! Unser Aufenthalt war einfach paradiesisch. Ob in der Hängematte, abends am Feuer oder bis in die Nacht hinein den Sternenhimmel beobachten – es war pure Erholung. Die zwei Wochen vergingen wie im Flug, es fühlte sich an wie ein verlängertes Wochenende. Wir kommen definitiv wieder! Ein kleiner Hinweis: Wir hatten unsere Campingstühle und Schlafsäcke dabei, was uns flexibel machte und uns ermöglichte, bis 1-2 Uhr nachts die genialen Sterne zu beobachten. Zur Straße: Man kann sie nicht mit 30 km/h befahren, aber in Schritttempo ist das überhaupt kein Problem (okay, vielleicht mit einem breiteren Fahrzeug wie einem A7 könnte es etwas kniffliger sein). Vielen Dank an Tobia und Fabrizio für diesen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt!

Urlaub im Paradies
Es war einfach ein perfekter Urlaub, die Entspannung kam gleich in den ersten Minuten. Gelegen mitten in der Natur, aber doch nach genug, um etwas anzuschauen und auch wirklich tolle Restaurants zu besuchen. Fabrizio, der Gärtner, ist ein ganz toller herzlicher Mensch, der auch unseren Aufenthalt noch toller machte. Ein rundum gelungener Urlaub, wir werden sicherlich wieder kommen, in dieses unglaublich großartige Paradies!

Absolut ruhige Lage - selten so gut erholt
Der Weg zum Haus ist zwar abenteuerlich aber machbar. Selbst mit einer Mercedes E-Klasse zu befahren. Dafür wird man mit einer herrlichen Ruhe, toller Aussicht und einer Katze belohnt. Ab und an kommt auch mal ein Fuchs vorbei und sagt "Gute Nacht" - Fabrizzio ist immer da und hat uns gut versorgt - Das Haus funktional - mehr braucht man auch nicht wenn man auf die Erholung wert legt

Una settimana di relax
La proprietà è immersa in un bosco compreso nella valle umbra dei calanchi, vicino Civita di Bagnoregio. Il luogo consente una vacanza in quiete assoluta immersi in un contesto di grande bellezza, godendo anche della possibilità di un bagno in piscina nel mezzo del bosco. Fabrizio, il giardiniere, garantisce monitoraggio quotidiano e discreto del luogo. Consigliata attenzione sulla stradina che conduce all'abitazione. Non è necessario un fuoristrada, ma la guida deve essere lenta e accorta. Possibile difficoltà di ricezione dei cellulari. Grazie - torneremo.

Wonderful hideaway with stunning view!
My husband and I were lucky enough to spend 10 marvelous nights in this lovely cottage. It was the perfect holiday for us to totally calm down by enjoying this peaceful, remote place and exploring its surroundings. The cottage itself is very cosy and simple with all the basic equipment one needs, if you don't expect luxury ;-) We were warmly welcomed by the owner of the property, Tobia, and Fabrizio, the good soul/housekeeper/gardener, a lovely man who gave us a lot of tipps and always brightened our days, whenever he came by. Some things we think are good to know for future guests: The private road to the property is really adventurous, rocky and narrow and can be a challenge for bigger cars and drivers, who don't have good nerves. You might want to leave your car uphill and ask the agency, if their Samurai Jeep would be available for getting you up and down, as we did. Another tipp: if you're a heavy coffee drinker you might want to bring another espresso maker for the gas stove, as the one that is there can only make 2 espressi at a time ;-) We highly recommend this place for people who enjoy the Dolce far niente in a peaceful location in the middle of stunning nature and still close enough to some beautiful, Italian villages and sights. Torneremo sicuramente e grazie di tutto!

Nehmen sie einen kleinen Mietwagen, denn die Anfahrt ist schmal. Herrlich, am Morgen gleich in den Pool zu springen. Sehr vitalisierend. Fabrizio und der Kater waren wundervoll.

Perfect getaway!
The perfect get away if you want to enjoy your peace and quiet! Hard to find initially but the lovely neighbours directed us and helped us! Really is off the beaten track and down to the most beautiful views which made the journey that much more worth it! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and everything umbria has to offer!

Magical setting!
My husband and I enjoyed an extraordinary 4 nights at this cottage tucked away in a wild & wonderful valley. The initial drive down the long, steep, windy, and bumpy driveway was a bit hair-raising. However, the privacy and pristine views of the Umbrian countryside were well worth the white knuckles. I can only reiterate what other reviewer’s have shared – a 4 wheel drive vehicle is essential - preferably one not too wide as there are some narrow passages between rocks that must be navigated. If you are a nervous driver or have been pounding down grappa, this is probably not the cottage for you. If you are travelers who enjoy stunning, secluded vistas & off-the beaten path adventures, you will be in Heaven. The cottage was very cozy and well appointed with a charming private pool. Fabrizio – the gardener/caretaker – was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed hiking around the valley our first morning for even more breathtaking views and cheese tasting at a neighboring agritourism farm. We also loved our first night dinner at the local family farm-to-table restaurant, Jovez. It was also nice to be within an easy drive to Orvietto – one of the most beautiful historic hilltop towns with one of the most magnificent duomos in Italy. Finally, Civita di Bagnoreggio is a spectacular experience that is in the “backyard” of the cottage. I would recommend visiting in the evening when the crowds thin and the setting sun dramatizes the colors and shadows of the setting. Bellissimo! We are already dreaming of a return visit.

Wonderful hideaway for nature lovers
The beauty of the property is unbelievable. Both the view and the land surrounding the cottage are stunning. We loved having our own water source, which provided drinking water, pool water and a running water stream next to the house. The acces road is steep, narrow and bumpy - yet doable when you take it slow. The care taker Frabrizio really did take care. We had a wonderful time.

A very special place
A privilege to be in this beautiful cottage. The possition is extraordinary - Surrounded by tress within the nature reserve overlooking the most wonderful landscape. Thank you to the owners and to the gardener who met us and showed us the cottage and gave us great local walking tips, caugettes and salad from the garden. Yes the track is an adventure but was drivable in our hire car. It feels remote and isolated whilst being so close to lovely villages with excellent local shops. I rarely want to return somewhere but I felt 5 days was too short and want to return to this very very special place. To add It was very clean and well appointed and just beautiful.......
