Quiet/Cozy Cabin
Had a bachelor party over the weekend with the fellas and we enjoyed our stay here. Plenty of room for big families or get together and plenty of beds to sleep in. The owners were great with communication and helping us with any questions we had. Appreciate the weekend there and would definitely recommend.

Truly one of the most beautiful parts of Pennsylvania
We gathered our entire family to enjoy the area around the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. We all enjoy the outdoors and this cabin fit the bill. It is very secluded which allowed us to enjoy the night sky without the city lights. Out back there is a fire ring well stocked with wood for a night time campfire. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. We cooked all our meals at the cabin. There is a TV but we never turned it on. With so much beauty outside who would? The owner is very accessible and she texted us after our arrival to see if we had any questions and texted afterwards making sure we had a good experience. The only thing we would do differently would be to spend more time planning our activities. The roads are dirt roads and what looks close on a map may take 45 minutes to get there. So I would suggest printing out maps of the area before you go and figure about 10 mph on the dirt roads. The bike trail through the canyon is beautiful and worth the drive to get there. If you plan to do some hiking, there are loads of trails close to the cabin that are just as nice as the ones you'll find in the state park. I would highly recommend staying here. I think you will have a very pleasant stay.

Too much hassle and too many rules and insults
Having to take sheets, towels, washcloths, etc was a pain. What was worse was that we had to take toilet paper and paper towels. What kind of place makes you take toilet paper? The showers are very very small. You will bump into a wall no matter where you turn. You have to take your own supply of firewood which is fine. But being accused of using the property manager’s firewood that is there in the middle of the stay was insulting. The good thing about this place was it is out in the middle of nowhere so quiet and peaceful! However, I would not stay there again.

Rustic mountain cabin
Jane was a Great host. The cabin is in the Wilds outside of Wellsboro proper. For some this may be a turn off, but for us it was great. You are essentially off the grid, however there is WiFi. Jane leaves directions to not leave anything outside and with good reason, you are clearly in beer country, though we didn’t see any. There are five well kept bedrooms, a large kitchen and dining room, and a sizable living room. You will have a great stay if you are looking to be close to nature. We would go back!

Camping with all the comforts of home
We found this "cabin" to be more of a home. It was very clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable. We were glad that we arrived in the daylight hours though since it is tucked away in the mountain. When finding the cabin, it felt far from town but after making the trip back a few times, it wasn't as far as it originally felt. Be prepared to get your car dirty and if you have 4 wheel drive, that would be your best choice if it rains heavy or snows.

Great family gathering place!
Eight cousins met in the Wild Asaph Cabin for a few days. The cabin is set in beautiful woods and hills only a few miles from the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. The kitchen is beautiful and well stocked. We loved the big dining table! We didn’t get to see any bears. We enjoyed the town of Wellsboro too.

Cozy cabin in Wellsboro
Our group stayed for a weekend. The cabin was beautiful and well taken care of. It was quite off the beaten path but provided a wonderful, relaxing environment. The wrap around porch and large kitchen table were two of our favorite things about the cabin.

Hello, we are Harold and Jane Roes Yoder. I was raised in upstate NY in the little town of Castorland. It is one of those towns that if you blink while driving through you will miss it. After my high school years I left Castorland and went into volunteer service through Rosedale Mennonite Missions and served a year in El Dorado AR at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home where I meet my husband, Harold. We married in 1980, had our 1st son James and lived in AR for the next year. We moved back to upstate NY for the next 5 years. By now our second son Adam was born. With Harold having some family in Lancaster county and not much luck with finding a good job in my home town we decided to move our family to Lancaster county. There Harold found his nitch as a Personal Care Home Administrator and for the next 18 years he served the residents and staff as their administrator. Harold was born in Pa and grew up on a farm in McVeytown. He worked hard all his growing up years on the family farm. He left his hometown after high school to volunteer at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home as supervisor over maintenance, laundry and housekeeping. We are two people from two different areas, never knew each other growing up but ended up miles from our homes and found each other in El Dorado AR. We have been married now for 43 years this August 2023. We have two sons as mentioned, both are married. James and his wife have 4 children, Jocelyn (15) and Blake (12) and Everet 11 and Jaxon who is 6 year old. Our youngest son Adam is married to Mana. They have 2 sons Sho Edwin who is 10 and Cole Christopher who is 6 year old, and one daughter Kumi who is 4. 2023 updated.

Why they chose this property

This cabin is located on top of a mountain. It is mostly surrounded by woods which makes it private. The drive up the mountain is beautiful and the roads in the area are great to travel and explore in the state forest lands. If you follow Right Asaph Road to the bottom you will follow a beautiful trout stream and eventually come to Asaph park. A great place to have a picnic and spend some time.

What makes this property unique

This property is unique as it is one of a few that is cozy enough for just 2 people but also big enough to sleep 14 in beds. It offers 5 bedrooms with 3 of those 5 being on the 1st floor. We offer 4 queen size beds. Hoping soon to get a bedroom with a kingsize (so keep watching for that). This cabin is in the boonies which makes it private but yet you are only 17 miles from Wellsboro. We offer you a full kitchen for those that like to stay at the cabin and cook your own meals. A few things that are in the kitchen are toaster, microwave, tea pot, blender, skillet, crock pot, utensils, gas stove and oven, spices, pot holders, knives, all tableware, lots of countertop space with bar that seats 4. Refrigerator and freezer, coffee maker, filters and more. The big dining room table is my favorite. There are great memories made around a dinner table, with great food, great fellowship, lots of stories and laughter and games. With the open floor plan if you are in the living room enjoying the game on the smart TV you aren't missing anything. We offer a wood stove for the chilling nights. The 2 bedrooms upstairs have AC window units that allow the cool air to come downstairs when needed. All rooms have ceiling fans. To be honest not many days do you need AC but it is there if you do. With this cabin being in high elevation it is usually 6 degrees cooler at this cabin then in Wellsboro. It's wonderful. I prefer open windows! We offer you a DVD player and family DVDs. We welcome you if it is just the two of you don't be afraid to book this 5 bedroom cabin. It is cozy for 2 or large enough for 14. My husband and I love being here and feel very comfortable when it is just the two of us. This cabin is also great for 5 couples. We do not allow pets of any kind and at this cabin we do not allow outside events or parties. We offer big yards in front and back and covered decks in front and back. We also have a horseshoe pit. We would love to have you! Thank you.
