About this property

Welcome to one of the most unique locations in Gettysburg.. Stay on the Gettysburg Battlefield, while you visit this historic town. Surrounded by nature, you will enjoy privacy in this secluded retreat that nestled on the western slope of Wolf Hill, on the edge of town. Wolf Hill is not as well known as the other major battle areas of the Gettysburg Battlefield, but it did play a strategic part in the overall battle as Confederate and Union armies engaged in skirmish battles all around this area. The home poses a picturesque view overlooking Gettysburg. Views are best from late fall to spring., when there are no leaves on the trees. but you can still catch glimpses of town and surrounding battlefield during the other months of the year. Wildlife is abundant. You are likely to see deer, turkey, and an occasional bear.

The home has 2 bedrooms with Queen beds, 1.5 baths, full kitchen, laundry, air conditioning, and heat. Both bedrooms, full bath, and laundry are on second floor. Kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, electric stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave, cooking basics, dishware & flatware, coffee maker, toaster.

Cleaning
We are sticklers for cleanliness. All cleaning is done personally by us. All of our beds and pillows have protective covers, as well as the mattresses, and our bedding is completely changed after each guest (including comforters). Every high touch area is cleaned and sanitized between guests with disinfectant.

Great host and great house

Our hosts were amazing. They communicated with us and made it easy to find this hide away hilltop retreat. The house had everything we needed. It was spotless. The covered porch was great to enjoy the quiet of the location. We will be back hopefully in the fall to enjoy the views with some leaves down a bit. .

Great house great location. 10 minutes from everything Gettysburg

We had a great 3 days on Wolf Hill. The place is a gem in the woods. Perfect clean and super cute. The stone fireplace is spectacular. If you are going to Gettysburg for the history this place is right in the thick of it. Do not hesitate to book you will be happy you did. We will be back in the fall.

My wife and I are from the Gettysburg area. I grew up right here on Wolf Hill and my wife, Nicole, grew up just outside of Gettysburg in apple country. We are fairly new to hosting, but don't let that worry you. You are in great hands and you will not regret your stay at the Wolf's Den while you visit this historic town.

Why they chose this property

What makes this property unique

This location is very unique in that it is built on the slope of Wolf HIll, just outside of town. The home was built in the 60's by a local who used the residence as an observatory. My wife and I purchased the property and brought the home back to life. During the late fall and early spring months, you can enjoy the picturesque view out the large window all the way to South Mountain. It is truly a rare opportunity to not only stay on the battlefield, but also enjoy great views and sunsets.
