Last minute cancelation

We didn’t stay. After booking and paying in January i was excited for the trip. I rwached out to the owner about 5 days vefore the trip to get the final details. They never responded. 2 days before the trip VRBO emailed me saying I was all set and to contact the owner for final details about checking in. I reached out again and no response. The day before the trip i called VRBO abd shared that i hadn't heard anything yet. They called the owner and then shared that the owner said the unit is no longer for rent. I then spent the next 5 days trying to rebook my vacation. I ended up losing a day and arrived in St thomas late since we had no place to stay. We stayed 2 nights in a hotel instead of a 2 bedroom condo. Then 4 nights in a different property and then the final night in yet another property. This property owner should be banned from ever offering rental again.
