About this property

Welcome to our family home! Foggy Notion is a stately colonial, surrounded by oaks and abutting 116 acres of Massachusetts State Forest. Nestled at the end of a private road, the house is easily accessible by bicycle or shuttle bus. A pleasant bike ride through the State Forest will get you to Fisherman's, Madequecham or Surfside Beaches.

We are fully equipped for families with infants or toddlers, with much of the gear you need on-site.

The house boasts an open kitchen, dining and living room plan, ideal for socializing. Our kitchen island seats three and our dining room seats eight. A powder room at the entrance is convenient for your visitors. Our home office is a quiet and private place for reading, catching up on work, yoga and more.

On our full-length back deck, an outdoor dining set seats four and you'll find an additional sitting area as well.

Upstairs, all our bedrooms are equipped with blackout blinds. The generous primary suite provides ample space and privacy. The primary bathroom is spacious with great lighting and a roomy glass shower cabin. Two additional bedrooms are cozy and thoughtfully appointed. The hall bathroom has a full bath/shower and a washer and dryer in the closet.

We have a generous front and back yard with many mature oaks.

Great stay

Best house ever!

We’ve rented other houses on Nantucket. This one was the best. And Ariana was a great host. So responsive and nice to all of my questions. We’ll be back.

Perfect in every respect!

If you're looking for a spacious, well-appointed summer rental on Nantucket -- well-suited for a big family or three couples, this is ideal. The home itself is beautiful and well laid-out. On our first night, we very much enjoyed the chance to grill salmon out back and enjoy an evening dinner on the deck. The bedrooms were comfortable and cheerful; the bathrooms were immaculate, and the big-screen TV downstairs with ample sitting space made for a nice late-evening retreat. The location is very nice. One of us walked in from the airport (30 minutes) just to show that it can be done. All of us biked to town or to the beaches in comfort. The charming cafe about 300 yards away on Toombs Court was a pleasant surprise. Great summer rentals in New England's prime vacation towns an be very tricky to find, but this house delivered!

Nantucket Wedding

Foggy Notion was perfect for our stay. Close to town and beaches and the airport. Had all the amenities you would need for a family trip. We would definitely stay there again.

Immaculate mid-Island home

We were looking for a long/5-night weekend in Nantucket. As we have rented with VRBO on-island in the past, three to four times, we recognized this listing as accurate and detailed. The communication with the owner Ariana was nearly instantaneous and welcoming. The property is immaculate and nearly brand new. The beds were comfortable; the kitchen island and dining table were close together and perfect for family interactions. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spotless. The kitchen was well-equipped. Located off Old South Road, adjacent to the Nantucket State Forest, the property is walkable to the Nantucket Bake Shop/Meat and Fish market and a great coffee-and-sweets place at the end of the street. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Ariana. for a great weekend.
