The only establishment in Glacier National Park providing 5-star accommodations. The Apgar Lookout Retreat is 500 feet from the shores of Lake Mcdonald and 1/4 mile from Going-to-the-Sun Highway. It is the perfect location for sight-seeing and recreating inside Glacier National Park.


** Starting in 2024, guests that have Lodging reservations in Apgar Village, will no longer have access to the Going-to-the-Sun Highway. In order to access Going-to-the-Sun Highway, you must purchase a vehicle reservation through recreation.gov for Glacier National Park.

Lovely, convenient apt

Lovely, clean apartment , plenty of room, great location very close to west glacier trails and 2 hour scenic drive to East Glacier trails. On beautiful Lake McDonald in quaint village with restaurant with parking spot.

Spacious, clean, great location for exploring Glacier

Convenient location in Apgar a half block from Lake McDonald and a short walk to the Apgar Visitor Center and Transportation Center. Hiking trails, rental bikes, kayaks and shops right outside your door. Very clean, well furnished, comfortable, nicely decorated, and spacious. Note: 2 or 3 flights of stairs to climb. Nice rooftop deck with view of Lake McDonald.

Family hiking trip in Glacier NP

Great! Very nice, clean, newly decorated, very comfortable. We were warned of many stairs - which is very true! Parking at times was a concern. While behind the building there are signs that designate, there is no way it is enforced.Also, we had no clue how to checkin. Glacier NP has unreliable data and cell, so this is a challenge when instructions are sent while you are in the park. Luckily we arrived just before store closed and wandered in there to inquire. Of course they were very helpful once we realized we were in the right place.

A hidden gem within the park!

We booked this stay for my Uncle's 80th birthday trip to Glacier and it was a wonderful place within the park close to shops and eateries and of course Lake McDonald. We enjoyed the space and even commented multipole times on how it felt comfortable like we were at home and we enjoyed the access to the rooftop deck with amazing views of the lake and mountains beyond. We would recommend this place to anybody looking to stay within the park!

Glacier NP visit

Wonderful unit in a great location. We loved staying there. The furnishings are very nice and comfortable. The only downside is lots of stairs to get to the unit. Otherwise it is perfect!

Beautiful stay

The home was absolutely beautiful! We enjoyed our stay. Just know if you’re bringing anyone who struggles with stairs that there a lot of stairs to get up to your door! Other than that we loved it.
