The spacious Master has 1 King bed, black-out curtains, Smart TV, settee, armchair, walk-in-closet, and full bath. The “Mountain View” and “Sage” Rooms have 1 Queen bed each with reading chairs. There are 2 Bunk Rooms with 3 twin beds each. Both have childrens step stools, reading chairs, TVs and DVD players.

In the backyard is a children’s swing set easily visible from the kitchen window with slide and climbing wall. Linens & Towels, 100% organic cotton, provided.

Explore the Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah Valley, Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive, Luray Caverns or Skyline Caverns in all their seasonal glory! The house is just 10 miles from Trumbo Hollow Hike Trailhead - Appalachian Trail.

Adventure is easily found through a variety of family-friendly outdoor activities - hiking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, axe-throwing, biking, camping, and much more! Just 6 miles from the house is Morgan Ford Bridge where on the Shenandoah River (the canoe capital of Virginia) you can throw in a line, take a swim, or paddle around in a canoe on one of the 2 fishing kayaks provided.

Shop or simply stroll down our historic Main Street where you can appreciate our many murals by incredible local artists, experience unique shops, and nostalgic entertainment including a family arcade, movie theater and candy store.

Enjoy the local breweries and wineries or take a family trip to the local bowling alley, skating rink, or Dinosaur Land. For wine lovers Fox Meadow is gorgeous and just 5 miles from the house. Or, stay home to take in the sunset from the rocking chair up on the hill.

Dine at our wide variety of memorable restaurants or pick up locally sourced produce from The Giving Tree; paired with locally sourced protein from Two Fat Butchers and enjoy a meal at home in our fully stocked kitchen.

Escape the busy city life with a short drive (along Route 66 or Route 81) to a home that has picturesque views of George Washington National Forrest or the Shenandoah Mountains from nearly every window. Curl up and read a book in front of the fire or in the tub.

Relax on the back porch to take in the natural beauty the Shenandoah Mountains have to offer including birds, butterflies, and mammals such as deer, foxes, and raccoons. In the evening, the night sky, with nearly zero light pollution, is perfect for stargazing and smore making. (Hot Tub coming soon!)

Ladies Night with a Private Chef

The house was lovely! We appreciated the cleanliness and the coziness of the large and spacious home. It had everything we needed plus more. It was the right choice for a perfect night to celebrate our friend's upcoming nuptials. The host was very responsive and check in was simple. Would recommend!.

Why they chose this property

I acquired the Mountain House because I loved how the drive toward home, and up the windy switchbacks with spectacular views relaxed me. Keep an eye out for deer! When I arrived I loved the view from every window. The scenery is gorgeous in all 4 seasons. The neighboorhood is quiet and tight-knit - very friendly, all dog lovers, however, the home affords the illusion of 100% privacy.

What makes this property unique

The home is designed for a multi-generation family. With the bed/ADA bath combo on the first floor, ramp out back for easy access - even if its just for groceries and luggage! Despite how large the rooms are - it still has a cozy, warm, "lived in" feel to it. Like a home away from home.
