Perfect Week in Leadville
Great location close to downtown Leadville. Great space for the family. Kids loved playing in the outdoor areas. The kitchen is small, like on a yacht, but super well equipped. A very efficient space to produce some memorable meals.

First Real Hikes of the Season
Peaceful, relaxing, great place to recharge. I previously stayed in a smaller unit in this development. This unit has much more space and better guest experience details including excellent bed, bedding, towels and TV including full cable and Apple TV.

Convenient Stay Close to Cooper
Perfect place near Cooper for a great ski trip with friends, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. I appreciated the heated floors and fireplace. Andrew responded within minutes when we had a question for him.

Charming lodge cabin
Our party of 5 adults had a very wonderful 3 nights stay at the Lackawanna Lodge recently on our trip to Ski Cooper. The property is very clean and have sufficient space for all of us. The lodge is very close by to the town of Leadville and Ski Cooper. The host is very responsive to our needs and the property is well managed. It snowed while we were there and someone was always there first thing in the morning to remove snow from the porch and walkway. The gas fire place is a plus and it warms up the cozy cabin. The kitchen is a bit small but it was fine for us since it was a short stay. Will definitely recommend this property for the price.

Cooper getaway
Very cozy and well appointed. Excellent location for ski Cooper and Copper mtn as well. Just far enough out of town for the nature connection and close enough for quick trips to get things from the stores, restaurants and bakeries. We will use this again for year round excursions from the front range.

About the host

Host profile image
My name is Andrew Palmer. I’m looking forward to hosting you at Lackawanna Lodge in Leadville. I live in the Denver area and Lackawanna Lodge serves as my escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. It is also basecamp for many of my outdoor adventures. When I’m in Leadville, you’ll often find me on the hiking trails, mountain biking trails, or ski slopes. I’ve gotten to know the area very well and would be more than happy to help you pick out activities for your trip. Leadville has become my “happy place.” By the end of your trip, I’m sure it will be your happy place too.

Why they chose this property

Leadville offers fantastic access to outdoor activities without the crowds or sky-high prices of other Colorado mountain towns.

What makes this property unique

Lackawanna Lodge is nestled in a mature pine forest north of Leadville, giving the property a remote "woodsy" setting. From the front porch, you can admire views of Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive, the two tallest mountains in Colorado. Though you may feel "out there," you will in fact be very close to town and other important destinations. Leadville is just a 5 minute drive away. Ski Cooper is 10 minutes away and Copper Mountain is 30 minutes away. The feeling of remoteness combined with the reality of close proximity to town and services make the property unique.
