About this property

The Lea - tiny cabin in cow pasture

Experience the farm on a whole new level. We bring luxury to camping all while enjoying the comforts of home. Lea is a noun meaning 1. GRASSLAND, PASTURE 2. usually ley : arable land used temporarily for hay or grazing 3. There is nothing that she enjoys more than to see Guernsey cows grazing on pasture and we are excited to share this experience and our recreational tiny cabin with you. The Lea provides guests with a unique Farm-Stay experience. The cabin is located at the edge of one of our pasture fields and features quaint accomodations for up to 4. There is no electricity at this location or running water. The Lea is off-grid, but don't let that scare you. Take glamping (glamorous camping) to a whole new level in The Lea with a propane heater, a solar battery with limited power for charging your phone and lighting, potable water and a seperate compost toilet provided for your comfort. Wake up early to view nearby cows or horses grazing in the pastures, widllife (we often see deer, turkey, a variety of birds, and occassionally a bald egale or bear), or sleep in while enjoying soft linens on a comfortable queen sized bed. The Farmhouse queen bed features cozy quilts and flannel sheets when its cool outside. The loft provides additional space for up to 2 people (most suitable for children) and includes a queen mattress. Sip coffee on the porch or enjoy a bottle of wine while experiencing the outdoors in a new way. The interior of the cabin is uiniquely decorated with repurposed barn wood and tin from buildings on our farm. The red interior wall is recycled wood from a New Holland silage wagon. It includes custom end tables built from wooden feed pallets and is decorated with an antique loft hay fork and dried flowers. Guests have the opportunity to add breakfast to their overnight experience, or can cook their own meals on the open fire (firewood provided). We provide a cast iron skillet, hotdog sticks and mountain pie irons. An outdoor table provides space for outdoor dining. We apologize, but this cabin does not allow animals due to the location of the site in our field. Limited parking in the field is available and you must walk a short distance to the cabin. Bring your flashlight or use one of the ones that we have provided. The Lea is a perfect getaway where you can truly unplug and get back to nature. In the summer, viist our acres of sunflowers and wildflowers or book a farm tour with your hosts. We also process our own milk, cheeses and ice cream - all of which can be purchased at our own site self serve store, The Red Shed.
