Our stay was great! Host was very accommodating! We took advantage of chartering the smaller boat the host has out to the sandbar for a fun day out in the water. Would definitely recommend!Boat amenities were as expecting. They are on the process of making upgrades to the boat. They just did new flooring before our stay.
We’ve been to Key West before and typically stay downtown. We were looking for something different this time and thought the boat fit that perfectly. We were not disappointed. There were 4 adult women in our group. Plenty of space for all of us and our stuff. The host (Alex) and his captain (Johnny) were super nice and great with communication. The surrounding neighbors were helpful and friendly. We discovered some delicious food trucks not far from the boat and of course Hogfish is a must. We rented a golf cart to get back and forth to the downtown area and found it super easy. We also used the pools at The Perry Hotel -what a beautiful property! Would highly recommend this property.
Three girls traveled to Key West to have fun with some friends who are staying on a sailboat at the nearby Perry Marina. We chose this yacht as our home for 4 nights and were so glad we did! We each had our own bedroom and our own bath, plus we loved the shared kitchen and living room. The boat was clean and comfortable. We had our own parking spot right in front of the boat. It’s in a gated area and we sometimes had trouble getting the gate to open when we left but since there were 3 of us, it wasn’t a problem. Gavin, Johnny and Alex checked on us tegu
Our family had an incredible stay aboard the yacht "Key West Livin'." It offered an affordable blend of lodging and fishing/cruising, with plenty of space for our group of six adults. We loved the convenience of staying at the dock while having the flexibility to sail whenever we wanted, weather permitting. Being just an hour away from pristine deepwater fishing spots allowed us to maximize our days. With a golf cart parked right at the dock made it easy to reach the beach and downtown. The host and crew truly made our stay unforgettable. We will definitely do this again!
We lost our dear son John to Fentanyl last year in October. His favorite place on earth was the Florida Keys and Key West. We found Alex and Gavin and presented our story, we wished to take Johns ashes and a headstone to his final resting place, as he had wished. We found a spot where we were all able to scuba dive together as a family and place Johns headstone, after spreading his ashes above. We had been visiting the Keys since John was born and had logged many spearfishing trips on live aboard to Dry Tortugas . We always concluded our trips after cleaning our bounty at Hogfish Bar and Grill. Meeting Alex and Gavin was not by coincidence, it was God that brought us together to celebrate Johns life and his journey to Gods kingdom. Host Alex, Captain Gavin and first mate John were amazing and went above and beyond to assist us in every way to honor our son's final wish. First Mate John manned boat above while Gavin filmed the entire underwater ceremony with our GoPro. My wife Paula and 13 year old son Roby were recently certified to dive so we could bid farewell to John. We plan to return each year to visit with John and stay on board "Key West Livin." The accommodations and convenience make this a great Key West/ Stock Island experience and I recommend highly.
I have to say I don't normally leave many of these because I do travel a lot and it would consume too much time but I had to make an exception in this case! This stay worked out perfectly!! We pulled off a surprise 50th for a good friend and he and his wife loved this. Alex and Gavin made everything simple and the yacht was to say the least the star of the trip. We all had plenty of room and everything was as promised! If you have any doubts about staying on the yacht, DON'T WORRY - JUST DO IT. You will not regret it! I can't wait to stay with them again.
Alex is a great host! We stayed in the yacht for 4 days and it was spacious and comfortable. We are looking to rent this boat once a year because it was a much need and wonderful experience from before check in to check out.
If you are looking for a boat get away in the keys, this is it! Our group of nauti gals had an absolute blast celebrating 40th birthdays. The boat was clean and AC kept us nice and cool. Beds are very comfortable which was so nice after long days of exploring Key West. Alex is very communicative and helpful with all questions along the way. We had a great stay and I will be booking again!
We booked this trip for my 50th birthday. We wanted to do something different other than staying in a hotel. The property was not as expected based on the listing and photos. The photos were very misleading. Some were obviously temporarily staged just for the photo..
1. To board the boat from the dock, you have to step on an unstable floating dock that looks like it’s about to fall apart. There was also a large gap between the floating dock and the boat itself. The dock was also moving up and down and just not safe.
2.We could not park in front of the boat, except on the day of arrival and after that, we could not get in and out. The walk to and from the car is 5 minutes but when you are carrying luggage, it’s a pain.
3.The view from the boat is horrible. We were looking at a bunch of junk.
4.The boat is old and needs updating.
5. Boat was staged for photos. Bedding and decor are not the same.
6. Built in ice maker didn’t work and a portable ice maker didn’t put out much ice. The tv in the salon area didn’t work.
7. We were assured there would be plenty of water for our entire stay but we woke up on the day of checkout to no water.
Overall, I would say they have misrepresented the boat in the listing. We paid $650/night and it was not worth it. Very disappointing!
In my opinion if you are looking for a “beautiful”, luxurious stay and the “ best boat rental” in the keys, this isn’t for you! Way overpriced!! We deserve half our money back.
We had a blast! It was a super fun trip. Special shout-out to Capt Gavin who made the trip a total 10 for sure. Snorkleing on the Western Sambo, jet skiing, and watching the sunset while out on the water was truly awesome.
A few hiccups on board during stay (water, shower draining, washer not working, steps to get on) but still enjoyed. Wish there were lights by steps to get on, especially with tide and different levels at night. 1st night my friend fell but thankfully was not hurt. Unhappy that master bedroom temp could not be controlled ... had to be adjusted through other bedroom. ??? So master was freezing or hot. Both bunk bedrooms uncomfortably warm .. so glad the weather was cool. Fridge & freezer were full of older and forgotten items. However, Captain Gavin made everything worthwhile. He is a straight shooter, honest, very knowledgeable and fantastic eye candy which he knows. He truly both talks the talk and walks the walk .. a quality I greatly appreciate in people. A little pricey and not able to get sun on boat with the location of it and no front area to lounge in, but overall it was a fantastic time for my birthday present to myself. Thanks Gavin for being you and making it fun! Wish I could have met Alex and heard from him earlier.
There were 4 of us for a girls getaway to celebrate my 50th birthday. We had a great time. I wanted a unique and memorable experience for my birthday and that’s exactly what I got. The boat was spacious and we each had plenty of room. Alex made sure to check in on us. Captain Gavin was available for any questions as we learned about the boat. He was so helpful and you could tell he really loves the water. We paid to go out for snorkeling and fishing. Amazing doesn’t do it justice. The boat sailed by Captain Gavin really showed her prowess out of the marina. We caught a wahoo and celebrated at the nearby Hogfish Bar and Grill as they prepared our catch in 3 delicious ways. It was exactly the experience I was hoping for. I travel for work and stay in hotels all of the time so staying on this yacht in the marina was a nice way to create memories that will last a lifetime. The people who occupy the nearby boats were super friendly and made us feel welcome. Can’t wait to go back.
We arrived on Friday our Captain Picked us up at the airport. Went straight to the boat then Downtown for some sight seeing. Our captain was extremely attentive, very knowledgable, energetic, and fun! We stocked up on supplies and did two excursions one snorkeling and one sunset cruise! Bothe were very fun!
The boat is beautiful and roomy! Two of us had our own staterooms with bathroom and shower! The host Alex is super cool, and laid back, helpful and informative!
Thank you Alex and Gavin! we will be back! Beware!!! LOL
This is probably the best way to enjoy a girls weekend away! The place was amazing, wanted to do something different and we got it! Such an amazing experience! Close to everything, driving distance mostly. Girls are already planning this as a yearly adventure!
I would have to say this is probably one of the best ways to stay down in the Keys!
This was an excellent vacation in the beautiful Lower Keys of Florida. The boat owner, Mr. Verdi, and Boat Captain, Gavin, went out of their way to ensure all of our accommodations were in place prior to our arrival and departure. We met with the boat manager, Ray, upon arrival. It was very easy communicate with Mr. Verdi. However, we were too busy enjoying the Keys, he actually checked on us.
One of our most memorable moments was the opportunity to go on a sunset cruise commandeered by Captain Gavin, snorkeling on the Florida Barrier Reef and fishing! Our pictures were phenomenal.
Staying on a boat in a marina was perfect for our family secondary to the logistics/close proximity to Key West. We loved spending time at the sandbars at Mudd Key and Jewfish Basin (the water was spectacular). taking the cultural/historical food tour of Key West, snorkeling at Fort Zachary Taylor, the Fury Ultimate Adventure, Cuban Coffee and the food at the Hogfish Bar and Grill.
This vacation was nothing, but extraordinary!

Kicked out
Nice boat but different from the one rented supposedly better but no A/C in master bedroom and no tv unless you have an Iphone. Booked Sunday night and check out Friday morning, on Tuesday afternoon, before 2, Monroe county sheriff told us we didn't do anything wrong but this boat was for charter only we couldn't stay overnight again and had too leave or would be considered tressspassing. Had just gotten married that morning. Had to make other staying arrangements. Been trying to handle off line with owner who has communicated thru text that he will call to discuss refund tomorrow but then does not. I hope he does the right thing here so I can update with better news.
Enjoyed the boat completely and very close to a great restaurant. Rated location OK because of an area you go through to get there. That area is going away soon so it will be great after that. Owner very nice person
There is plenty of space to spread out we only had 3, but could easily have 4 or 5 adults. The 3rd bunk room makes it ideal for 2 couples and some kids. The thing to remember is this is a boat and as such has quarks. Do not expect a resort hotel and you will have a great time. Ray did a great job checking in and catering to needs. Contact him in advance so you can go over unique items of staying on a boat. Only negative is the marina not friendly. Pool is very small, to the point of not to consider it in equation. The neighborhood has no close groceries and has little shopping in walking distance. Hog Fish Grill and fish market are great.

Nice boat experience but difficult access
Keys Livin is a nice place on the water with a few great places to hang out near by. Parking/access to the property is challenging.Very narrow, one car in or out at a time road to the boat, no parking at the boat had to park in a separate area that is also used by a local restaurant.
Had fun sitting on the back deck watching Tarpon and Parrott fish right next to boat.
We had a great stay Alex was very accommodating. Told us some of the cool places to go in Keywest. It’s right next to Hogfish bar and grill. Jimmy Buffett made a surprise appearance there. I thought that was pretty cool. We had a great time and look forward to coming back to the area soon. Thanks Alex
Both Alex & Ray checked in daily & restocked supplies as needed. Two great restaurants within walking distance. Many Ubers around for transportation. Friendly neighbors nearby. Three bedrooms & two baths were perfect for our group of four.

About the host

My name is Alex Verdi And I Live in Princeton area of New Jersey. I chose to have this yacht in beautiful Key West Florida Because I am an avid fisherman here in Barnegat light New Jersey on Long Beach Island And need a place to go for these seemingly long winters we have been having. I would like to share this truly Fantastic experience with everyone else And that is why I chose to rent this beautiful yacht. There is not a better place to go then Key West Florida if you're looking to be surrounded by beautiful water, sunsets and of course the best fishing offered in the world. I have four children Alex ,Joseph ,Victoria and Anthony And wife of 20 years Lisa. To me this is the only way to experience what Key West has to offer staying on the yacht , My youngest son Anthony is my first mate on my 'Jersey Livin' boat here in New Jersey Which we frequently go to the canyons and fish all over the Barnegat Inlet. The accommodations on the boat are fantastic you have everything you possibly could want or need for a very comfortable stay. I also have two rental properties in the Poconos ID #s 176939 & 221844 If anybody would be interested in peace and quiet and all the Poconos have to offer. Thank you for the opportunity to create a vacation of a lifetime for you and yours
Why they chose this property
This is a truly unique experience to rent a property that is literally surrounded by water with sounds of the ocean the entire time and so many opportunities for a memorable vacation experience of a lifetime. There is no other way I would want to vacation in Key West then on a yacht like this. The options are endless including deep-sea fishing, snorkeling adventures, relaxing by the beautiful pool or private beach here at Harbor yacht club As well as a great restaurant and fitness facility. Duval Street and downtown Key West is probably one of the best towns to visit if you're looking for great shopping excellent restaurants and nightlife that is unmatched and endless sightseeing including my favorite the lighthouse of Key west.
