About this property

Located on the Fox River with private dock. Primary bedroom/bath on main level with 2 more bedrooms plus an office/bedroom upstairs. Views of the river from all bedrooms! Spacious family room with adjacent patio. Dining room seats 6 -8 comfortably. Hardwood floors throughout. Fire-pit is perfect way to end the day. Quiet street dead-ends at driveway. Yards away from Chapel Hill public golf course. McHenry Drive-In a mile away
The space
Main floor master bedroom has a king bed and en-suite bathroom with shower and separate tub. Two large bedrooms upstairs - one with a king bed and the other with two queen beds. Both have closet space. Additional room upstairs with a desk, trundle bed, and armchair with lamp. Laundry room is located upstairs. There will also be a roll-away bed located in the king bedroom upstairs.
Guest access
Guests will have access to everything except the garage, the hutch in the dining room, and the primary bedroom closet.
Other things to note
While we don't accept bookings that include pets or emotional support animals due to my allergies, please know that my daughter has a Goldendoodle that she brings up with her when she visits.

The fireplace in the primary bedroom is NOT a working fireplace. Please do not try and start a fire.

There is no garbage disposal - we are on a septic system. Please make sure to throw unused food items in the trash - not in the sink.

Since this is a second home, we do keep staples in the pantry and refrigerator. You are free to use them if you wish.

The thermostats will be pre-set - and we ask that you do not change them unless you contact us first.

My husband and I moved to Chicago from Virginia in 2019. He is a partner in a CPA firm and works from his home office. I am a retired teacher and now enjoy quilting, working on genealogy, and managing my Little Free Library. We purchased this river home with our daughter in 2021 and used it primarily in the summer and occasional weekends.
I did short-term rentals in my home in Virginia and loved the opportunity of meeting people from around the world.

Why they chose this property

Our property is in a quiet, established neighborhood with year-round residents. Being right on the river is a bonus! During the summer you can sit on the porch and watch the boats going back and forth from the lake - or rent a boat and park at our private dock. During the colder months, the river is home to families of ducks and swans.

What makes this property unique

Our home is perfect for families or couples vacationing together. There is a large side yard perfect for volleyball, kickball, or football. After playing or boating all day, you can enjoy the evening watching the sunset out by the fire pit.
