We stayed here for a few nights while going to the Tanglewood Festival. The location was perfect: a block from downtown Lenox and an easy walk to the grocery store and several good restaurants, but on the edge of town adjacent to a cemetery and therefore very quiet, with a big back yard. The house was very clean and thoroughly equipped; we had everything we needed with regards to kitchen, laundry, etc. The wifi was fast and reliable. The air conditioning was up to the task even on a warm, humid night. The owner was friendly and helpful, very willing to share local knowledge. My only reservation is about the layout of the house. The second bathroom (the only one with a shower) is located downstairs and at the end of a hallway, not very convenient to the upstairs bedrooms. The master bedroom is in a converted living room, so it had a curtain instead of a door at the time we stayed there, although the owner said he planned to install a door. The main access to the house, through the front door, is at the top of some uneven stone steps that we judged to be too risky for my friend with mobility issues; for safety, she walked up and down the lawn instead of taking the stone steps. I think prospective renters should be aware of these layout quirks. That said, we had a very good stay at the house and I thought it was an excellent value. Our location was the envy of my friends who were staying much farther away for Tanglewood. I would not hesitate to rent this house again.
